you can get the mythril mail even as early as the middle of level 2. All you need is the power rod from the level, get a few more items (including red candle) and you should be able to reach the summit of Horgrus and get it as early as before boss 2! Cool eh? But you didn't know that was possible that early, now you do. So technically speaking, you got the Mythril Mail a bit late. :P

Hehe yeah if only I would have known ... well the difficulty level was ok so the issue for me was more of figuring out the puzzles, but I need the Mythril Mail at this point anyway so it's helpful 😊
Oh and Petoe yeah you're right, now it's getting more interesting so I'm glad I stuck with it, also you and DFW have given me helpful hints and responded quite fast so that kept me going. Now to try out some more maybe in a couple hours if I get some free time. I just got home so gotta do some things first.
**edit**
ok I'm trying to get the death sword and I'm going in circles in the death cave. I made it as far as the top as seen in the pic below but I don't know where to go from here. Is there a trigger somewhere I missed? I tried bombing, throwing my boomerang, magic, fire, etc... at this head and nothing happens. Please help me 😞

You have to bomb "the head". 3 times. Watch out for the hands that come out of the ground in front of the head and then quickly run up to the head and place a bomb as near its forehead as you can and see how the skull cracks. 😊
Oh and you should make sure you have as many bombs as you can carry when going back to the death cave because the cave doesn't end there... you need to do some more bombing after that skull.
Began playing this game yesterday. I have to say, the graphics look pretty amazing. I like all the secret pathways hidden behind the trees. Pretty clever. As far as my progress goes, I have the sword, bow and arrows, 2 of the 10 potions, and 1 HCP. I'll probably ask for help later if I need it, but for now, I think I'm OK.
Not that it matters too much, but I found a small warping bug (not sure if it was mentioned or not) that allowed me to do the following:
I did an "End current game" and selected "Continue" to get there, but I was in the woods to the west coming from the village, not in the village itself. Like I said, it doesn't really matter too much since you can just walk there, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Now before I become too addicted to this game, I should probably get back to studying for my finals.

Alright sounds good, I knew I was close 😃 I'll give that a try again soon.
Oh and 1 more thing, how do I get the amulet in that lava part near level 4? I tried the ocarina and other things but nothing happens.
carmage: Good luck with the quest when you do continue. 😊
That continue bug is a weird one... some people have reported some minor continue bugs like that, even though I tought that the engine was cured from all continuity bugs. Oh well... thank goodnes the bug didn't throw you any further.
Toe-Knee: Ah, you probably looked at the LI treasure map and thought "the Amulet must be in that pool of lava!"
But it isn't, it is actually underground in those caves where the trap hands take you.

Oh now it makes more sense. I thought it might be but looking at the map it kinda threw me off. Sorry I forgot another thing, I don't see the book marked anywhere on the map (unless I'm not looking properly) so where would I get that since I need it to get a few HC pieces I noticed and maybe another item, I forget now. I also noticed there's a weird looking arrow with a fat blue end in Gathriel Canyon. What is that and how do I get it?
The amulet, according to the map, ACTUALLY IS under that pool of lava in the caves below. So the location is accurate, its just not on the overworld.
As for the book, you're not looking for a book. You're looking for a computer rod chip, that's the 'book.'
As for the weird arrow, its a mysterious item! And the location of the elusive master dome! bwhahahahahah
Yeah, Wolfie.... the Master Dome... the well hidden secret extra dungeon that is quite insane, but fun for the more skillful players.
Petoe wrote:Yeah, Wolfie.... the Master Dome... the well hidden secret extra dungeon that is quite insane, but fun for the more skillful players.
Whoa, I guess I can try at the very end but I don't need that to finish the quest from what I can tell so I'll see how I feel afterwards 😉

Ok that clears things up for now, time to figure these things out and ask more questions when I need help lol
**edit** sweet I got the death sword, now for level 4 unless I find other things first 😊
.... alright I got to level 4 and man it's huge but fun so far in a weird way, what I mean is there's so much I've never seen in Zelda so far but at the same time it's complex and I'm having a hard time with the power on/off thing to remember where I should return or not, making my brain hurt a bit lol
I have a key I found outdoors and see another one I can't reach because I can't go up the ladder. I thought there was only 1 key and dungeon key except for level 3. Oh well time to try harder :/
I haven't found where to use a key yet but I'll read more of this thread to see if I missed something. (hooray for 23 pages to look at again hehe)
...ok found the power chip after reading this long thread, custom boss killed me right away though lol (update ... beat the custom boss, not that bad with the 3rd sword 😊) now for more of level 4 fun!
**edit again**
[erased all other stuff I did]
I managed to get the Mirror Shield, completed the Master Dome to get the best arrows (Holy arrows or was it Awesome arrows?) then got the Dragonscale Mail so I should be ok now trying to complete level 4 and onward now. Problem is I'm still getting confused by level 4 but I'll take it easy for now and take a break after all this 😊
Many say that the Level 4 boss is the hardest one in the game, but now that you got the Death Sword, Dragonscale Mail and Awesome Arrows... woah, you should be okay!
yes, gnabbing the awesome arrows in the master dome, makes getting the holy arrows in level 5 practically useless. So if you want to search for holy arrows in the fire caves of level 5 just for 'completionist's sake' you can, but awesome arrows trumps them completely.
My memory may be failing me, but I remember getting far more frustrated with the midboss is level 4 way more than the actual level boss.
This quest still rules by the way.
jman2050 wrote:My memory may be failing me, but I remember getting far more frustrated with the midboss is level 4 way more than the actual level boss.
Heh, well the mid boss is tough as well. But it depends on who you ask the question "which boss was the toughest?".
After reading hundreds of comments, this seems to be the general opinion:
Toughest Boss: Lv4 Main Boss, with LV4 Mini Boss very close behind
Coolest Boss: Drago Lich (In my opinion the last boss is cooler, but whatever 🙄 )
Well I guess I'll find out 😊
I still haven't completed level 4, yes I beat the mid-boss and he was quite tough but I figured out the pattern a bit and didn't have to use a potion. I only unlocked 2 gates so far in level 4 so I have a ways to go I think. Will give it another shot soon.
**edit**
this is frustrating, in level 4 I have gates 1, 2 & 4 open and can even reach the boss key door now however I see where gate 3 is but can't reach it, I need the boss key but can't get to it. Can anyone help me find gate 3 and tell me where and how I need to turn the power on/off to do so? I see the 2nd power generator is on the nortwest side but I can't reach it. I have a feeling I need to get accross the path below to go downstairs but I missed something 😞

Well, I've finished half of my finals, so now I can get back to the game for a moment.
So far, I've finished Level 2, and have obtained/found the following items:
- 9 HC, 0 HCP
- All quest items up to the Candle
- Triforce #1 and #3 (gee, must've skipped #2 somewhere...)
- Big Quiver
- Spin Attack Scroll
- 1 Bomb Upgrade
- 5/10 Potions
- 2/6 Shields
Now, I have one question right now:
I noticed an HCP with a crystal switch out of reach in Level 2. Do I need the Boomerang to hit the switch or am I missing something?
Edit: Ah, never mind. I got it.
the switch to gate 3, if I can recall is actually in the middle of the initial floor you enter into. I think you have to turn the power off to push switches that deactivate massive floor beams when the power is on. This allows access to the gate 3 switch. I can't really recall where though, unfortunately. But at least I narrowed it down to: initial floor, middle of the floor, requires some power off to turn off some blockage beams. Good luck.

Ok I'll try that tomorrow when I got some free time. I'll let you know if I find it or not 😊
I've been looking for the Master Dome for sometime now and I just can't seem to find it. I'm dieing to challenge it, but I just don't know where else to look so could I ask for maybe a few hints to help narrow down my search, such as: what area the entrance is in or what item(s) is/are needed to reach it?
And also, what does the amulet/pendant do? I managed to pick it up by coincidence recently but I haven't noticed anything different.
the amulet is needed for the master dome, otherwise all enemies are invisible. (bad news for you!) You'll need a candle, ladder and power rod in that order to get to the Master Dome in the Glathriel Canyon.

Still not gonna say anything more specific? 😉
Ah HA!! Found it! I had been in that area several times, but I had never thought to use the power rod. Very well hidden indeed. Thank you!
Looks like he never needed anything more specific. So my intuition was correct Petoe. 😊 All you gotta do is give people a little nudge and they usually can figure it out themselves.
Hey DFW I found switch 3 and finally completed level 4! Man that last boss was kinda hard but with the Dragonscale mail I didn't even need a potion. I say the midboss was easier overall but both were still quite challenging.
Anyway on to level 5 I guess 😊
good luck with the end. It isn't much longer! 😃
You may want to save your game when it requests you to once you beat it. Trust me. 😉

Darn it I beat the last boss and escaped on the raft but I saw the ending repeated itself so I saved and I'm back in level 5 and I think I have to beat Warlach (I think that's his name) again 😞
**edit**
sweet I beat the game and got the Fire Boomerang from the Last Isle!
Am I ever glad I stuck with this game because it was a great game. I'm not going to rate every aspect of it but let's just say it's the best quest I've played so far and I give it a 9.5/10 😊
Only missing 2 HC pieces but that's ok ...
Beat it in 27 hours 47 minutes 😊😊😊😊😊
Oh and something funny I noticed in the credits, it says Producer "Peteo" which is spelled wrong lol
no, he changed his name to that. So is isn't mispelled.
As for the ending repetition bug, we encountered that, thought Petoe had fixed it, said he did, but I guess some people can still pull it off. Sorry about that. Glad you enjoyed it and got the secret item from the Last Isle. And its not a fire boomerange is a BOMBERANG! 😃 And I'm glad that people are still missing HC Pieces, means I did my job right in hiding them!

Oh it's a bomberang? I didn't even notice hehe
Anyway good job you 2 and hopefully another great quest like this will show up somehow. If not, congrats anyway for giving me some entertainment over the past couple weeks 😊
Oh and I forgot to mention I had 37 deaths and a ton of saves I lost count of 😊
well if you haven't yet, try my Origin, Hidden Duality, Wolfstyle DX, Isle of the Winds among other good quests I've made.
of Petoe's, try his classic Ages quest or Megaman: Dr. Wily's Revenge.
Those should provide you with hours of entertainment.
No wonder I've been missing so many extras. I didn't think you could burn the discolored large trees, too (I thought I needed something else). Ah well, now I know. 😊
Dang it, made it all the way to the Doom Cave, but I ran out of bombs at the giant skull! It had one hit left, too. :mad2: At least I have the shortcuts...
Well, looks like I'll be finished the game soon, so I might post a review by then (unless I become really busy over Christmas break).
