DOY revised: bug in dream village?

Well for some reason the Vines dungeon changed colour from green to yellow and some of the monsters changed into snakes. (is it because I got one of the medals?) more importantly all of the conveyors stopped whic is nice 😊
three issues though.

1) I beat the huge eyeball venus flytrap boss but nothing seems to have happend. also if you re-enter the room you fight the boss again (bug?)

2) I can't get to the far left center of F-1, a closed door didn't open after I cleared the room of the huge multi-flytraphead monster and there is no keyhole on the door.

3) Starting from the right side of the map where the room with frozen conveyors and exits on both left and right and a pit blocking your way so you need to hookshot onto a flower, goto the room to the left of it. In this room I cannot move the golden block beyond 1 block space so I could place it on the trigger block to open up the door on the north side of the room (when the dungeon is green I could do this).

I take it that you figured out how to complete vines since you are in the Elven Cave. You don't need (and can't have) the mirror shield at the time of the Elven Cave boss. Somebody in the cave gives you some hint about fighting the boss... something like "what you don't fight can't kill you." Try things along these lines.

Yes, thats why I thought I needed the mirror shield.
So I just sit there an let time elapse?

n/m, I figured it out 😊

that treasure chest at the far right wall of F-1 elven cave, is it worth getting?

athanato wrote:Do I need the mirror shield to fight the Elven Cave boss?

Wait you need a mirror shield? Don't you have a magic one? I thought there was no difference.

I'm at marathon and I still have two elders asking for relic stones in the excavation. There are enough stones for all of the elders correct? Is there a stone by marathon (excluding the one inside). Or is there one in the hall of statues or daku tree?

I'm stuck on F-2 of Marathon.
I'm on the center left hand side of the map close to the teleport room which has a hidden pathway to a floating platform that has a potion. When I walk down here the yellow blocks I walked over from the north retset back to the up position so I get stuck.
The teleporter just takes me back to the starting point on F-1.
south of here I find a movable golden block but it seems that I need to flip a switch to set the yellow block underneath it to the down position.

I would be greatful for any assistance or hints, thnx

Edit: I found my way through, but how do you get the key that is one room up from the F-2 start point? Do I fall down from F-3 ?

Obob wrote:Yeah the marathon boss key is really tough to find. Here's a hint which should help:

Walls in rooms with teleporters may not be as solid as they seem.

For the marathon boss key, I tried bombing the walls and walking througth the walls and nothing happend. Are you talking about the teleporter that is on F-2 near the center of the map where below there is a hidden path to a potion?

Also on the far left bottom of the map I walk north until I hit a wall that is blocking me from a door and stairs, how do I get on the other side?

I think I have created a situation where I have used the wrong key at the wrong place, aka I'm one key short. Are there any places where one could get a extra key.

You can buy keys in one of the villages.

also the train station has an extra key.

This quest has been a thrill to play. C-Dawg, you've made a masterpiece. Anyone who has yet to play Dreams of Yesterday, do yourself a favor and PLAY THIS QUEST NOW!!!

Possible spoilers ahead in the next 2 paragraphs: the topic the last dungeon; the font color is white.

I've made it to the Deku Tree (did you make 4 seperate maps for each floor?), and I have a question for a room on the second floor, where I face Prince Ironknuckle and the Silent Hunter. After I dispose the death knight, there remain the 10 green bushes that fire beams at me, and I cannot do anything to proceed. Is there another enemy in this room? I'm stuck.

I encountered a small bug on the first floor, and I'm thinking it may be the same cause for the room in which I'm currently stuck. In the room on the first floor where I fight Geist and the Storm Blossom, it is possible to fight them regardless of what direction the spike-compass is facing. However, you can only pass this room if the spike-compass points east, otherwise, you get stuck in an infinite loop where you repeatedly listen to the opening taunts, the admit of defeat, and Ganon's plea to Link. When I encountered my problem with Prince Ironknuckle and the Silent Hunter, I initially suspected the same cause for my problem, but it is only possible to enter the fight if the compass points to the south (my only options so far on the second floor are east and south). It is possible (but would be extremely time consuming) for me to go back to the first floor and move the compass to either north or west, then quit-continue to restart at the stairs to floor 2 so I dont have to deal with the Geist-Storm Blossom bug. But I don't think that's how this dungeon was intended to be played.

The end.

Thanks.

I'm at the Deku Tree and I still have two blank spots in my inventory which are normally the Magical Key and the Boots. Do any items exist in the game for these slots? if so where did I miss them?

thnx

Bigboylink,

I also got stuck in the Deku tree at the room with prince iron knuckles and the predator. I do not know how to proceed either; I stopped playing here.

Athanato,

The master key is in the Deku tree. I don't know if there are boots in this quest. There is a lvl 4 arrow in excavation, not sure if you found that or not.

1. Super bombs
2. Look closely at everything in the room while fighting them.

yes I got the golden arrow, thnx

In the excavation I have been everywhere except the middle rooms of the second bottom row in B-2. I tried to get to them from the right side of the map but the room with blocks and ghosts is not passable. How do I get into these rooms?

I could do with some help with a strategy to get the lens of truth. I know which chest it is in. Last time I played it I exploited a bug to get it., aka "walking between falling blocks". I can enter the room from above and from the left.

Thanks in advance

ask yourself, is this really a big pit or is there something hidden to the nakid eye? even if you had the lens you would still not see it.

Thanks, jman. I was definately not looking closely enough.

I'm having some trouble fighting the next pair of bosses. I enter the room from the left, and after they are finished their introductory taunts, I need to walk a full tile length in order to advance to the fighting sequence. However, once I do that, I get stuck on the next tile, and it shows me immobile on the stepladder. Has anyone else had this problem?

That did the trick. Thanks.

Has no one been here?

Theres a warp under a pushable block somewhere in B2 which will take you there. You can't get there through the room with the ghosts.

Found it thnx.
I had over looked that, I dismissed it as another warp back to the start. Now the item from there is usless to me (at least I think it is)

Seriously, that item definately isn't worth 3 relic stones, unless it's required to access some other awesome secret. I was very disappointed.

Has anyone had any insight for this problem? Thanks.

I'm currently at the devouring forest and am facing problems finding my way around becasue of the trick pits that I fall into and can't seem to find my way out of them as I get stuck at some sections of the cave. Help please?

Get the lens of truth from excavation to see the pits.

I've used up all my relic stones already but I haven't found the lens of truth... I;ve got the big money bag, fire bommerang and some HCs from the excavation... Could you tell me the location of the lens?

Its in the room under the room where you got the big money bag. It's possible to drop down on top of it from the money bag room by getting hit by a spike in the money bag room to push you far into the pit. It isn't all that easy, but it isn't too hard either.
