DOY revised: bug in dream village?

Found out what the colour blocks with switches at F2 mean 😊 I'm kinda stuck in the room with flashing tiles... When I step onto wrong one I get warped to this green zone with bats and the screen will eventually change into the warning you have encountered the bug... Is there a trick to get across the room? It's getting really frustrating... I've found the guy that gives the hint for that room.

Are you in the room with the big hole in the middle? Bomb up there for more stuff...

The earlier posts have some more hints 😊

Thanks kopitiambread I read the earlier posts and finally got thru the dam and got the flippers. I went and talked to the man in the tent and found out I have to go to the Lost Hills. I found a Toad cave but can't go anywhere because the green stuff on the floor kills me. Is there something from the Toad that I need before I go to the hills?

Great! You should tackle the Hills first as they have a very important item for your quest. (Before you tackle the hills, I strongly advise you to find the shop that sells the magic shield and sword upgrade as the hills will be tough at your current character strength. Do look for HC pieces around the overworld and buy the potions too.) 😊

I think you've found the wrong cave... The correct cave should have two pools of water to get you around the slime.

Could someone help me with this? 😃

Edit: I've found a way past the bug already *massive sigh of relief* 😃 Here's the way to get through:

Supposing you step on the wrong tile and get sent to the green zone, exit the 'room' from the bottom and you'll find yourself warped to about 4 tiles from the exit (which will be on your character's right) Just inch slowly towards the door and you'll be through 😉

Got the book and another key. Now onto the boss! Regarding the room with the 6 chests, could someone give me some hints as to how do I solve that room's puzzle?

Finally got through Engima Castle! Where is the next nightmare? Mudora Muck Cave is totally killing me with all the slime pits... Is there a way to cross them without severely losing hearts?

How do I get to the next nightmare? Where can I find the golden arrows in the excavation?

Buck up and take the hits soldier  , there is no item which protects you from the acid, just take the hits.

You need the mirror shield for the golden arrow, the arrow is in the top left of the excavation B-2.

Did you get the shoe in the desert town dungeon?

Did you find the cave village of the rock people? (I forgot their name), this will lead you to the next nightmare.

Either this is an unfinished room or just a decoy.

anyone have an idea?

The only problem is the conveyer room that leading upwards from the room with the blue block... I can't seem to cross without getting to the other side... Wonder if this is the conveyer bug 😞

I've found the winged boots (thank goodness it's just one floor of going in circled 😃) as well as the Goron City... Is the mirror shield in the Temple of Heros?

athanato wrote:anyone have an idea?

I haven't figured out if he has anything imporant role in the game... Maybe there's a hidden item in the game that we can hand to him or something...

Probably so... But looking at the layout of EC, I feel that it's unlikely C-Dawg would leave a room 'hanging', so to speak.

It might have ment something originally but he might have changed his mind and forgot to clean up that room.
this is jm's not c-dawgs quest.

I think I got my caves wrong. I got up to the Hills and into the cave but can't find my way to the dreameaters. I found one way out that led to a heart piece. Can someone give me some directions please. I keep getting killed trying to explore outside the caves and end up back at the "house". 🙄

You're on track to the Dreameaters' Village. There are some stairways on the extreme right of the original cave that should lead to the exit to the Village. Just endure a bit longer and I'm sure you'll be able to find the exit.

Oh yeah

After getting the winged boots, I used it to get into a cave in Crystal Canyon... However, nothing happened in the cave (even though there was a NPC there plus a bomable wall) Does this character serve any purpose in the game? And there's this mushroom in the cave near the starting point as well... Does he stay quiet for the rest of the game as well?

Pretty much what C said. As for any other changes to this quest, just sit tight. I might have something good come November/December 😊

I finally made it to the dreameaters village but have no idea where to go. I got the bomb upgrade and the whistle. I blew the whistle everywhere but can't find any dreams (the toad a lady told me about). Now that I'm here where do I go to start a dream? Do I go back to the start?

Congrats! 😊 Ok, you might want to visit the Great Fairy for more hints as to where the other dreams are. She's located in the overworld on the route to Error's Mansion.

Toad's nightmare can be found in the Swamp. The whistle is like the whistle in the original where it warps you to a random completed dungeon. To enter a nightmare, just blow the whistle.

Wow! 😊 An update on the quest? ZC 2.11? Or a new custom quest?

kopitiambread wrote:Wow! 😊 An update on the quest? ZC 2.11? Or a new custom quest?

Yea, ZC 2.11

jman2050, will it have a fix for the task switching bug ZC has? to reproduce bring up the ZC menu system and while thats open task switch back to the windows desktop, now try to task switch back, ZC is now hung and you have to kill the process.
If you task switch when the menu system is not up then ZC will not hang.

I'm having some trouble with the Death Mouintain dungeon. When I first enter the dungeon, and after moving 2 screens up, I can't proceed any further even though i see a hookshot-able block in the distance (on the same screen is a purple rupee) Could someone drop a hint as how I can proceed futher? 😊

:unhappy: I need help really really bad. I got to the Toads place and started exploring the 1st floor and ended up coming up some stairs a couple of screens to the right. I got a message said I was hit with the continue bug and went thru the intro screen with C-dawg. Well apparently I didn't follow directions and now I'm stuck in a screen with rain that only lets me go up a couple of screens. It's the beginning at Links house. I tried to restart and now everytime I just start on the rain screen. Do I have to re-load the whole game and start over? This is the 1st dream I got to. 😞

Found the way past that initial screen... I must be playing DOY with my eyes closed nowadays... 🙄 Found the boss key and the relic now onto finding Coma and Insonmia.

Edit: Beaten them! I'm at the next nightmare... Is there a certain order I should beat the individual caves?

Another question: What is the max number of hearts a player can have by the end of the game? ie: before beating ganon

Strange... I wasn't hit with that bug when I played through the first nightmare... Do you still remember which screen it was on?

Are you still equipped with your items before this bug hit you? Or are you stuck with only a bommerang?

I think it was 2 screens to the right. There are stairs that surrounded by blocks. I came from the right of that and just walked across the blocks and went down the stairs and that's where I got the message. I kept all of my items. But now I start on the screen at Links house and it's raining. Do I need to restart the game?
Since I can't go back to where I got messed up I can't tell you exactly where it happened. Gues if I want to play will have to start over although I don't know if it's worth it after all this. Thanks for all the help, it was fun while it lasted. 😞 😊

C-Dawg wrote:1. Bomb a wall on the southwest side of where you can get to. It's not marked and rather hard to find.

2. I beleive you just have to nail each of his spore-shooting growths several times.

Which maze are you refering to? Becasue I can't seem to find it... Is it the one with the many fast moving eyeballs in the reflectors section? Or is the the screen left to it with a pool of water at the center bottom of the screen?

I experienced this problem as well, and I also can't seem to remember where EXACTLY it occurs in Mirage. But when you get to the rainy screens, you can just run through the Deku Tree again to emerge in your house in the waking world. If this happens to you after you complete at least one dungeon, you can blow on the whistle to get back to the real world.

I just finished the game last night!!! The ending is really cool! Thanks for an awesome quest, C-Dawg.
