Obob wrote:Thats the only one you need for the fire boomerang. I think you need 3 more for gold armor. There's an additional relic stone hidden in the predator forest (use the lens to find the entrance), and one hidden in the town by enigma castle (walk into a window).

The enigma relic is close to the enigma boss key.

why are ppl calling this a fire boomerang?

athanato wrote:why are ppl calling this a fire boomerang?

Just cuz thats what the lvl 3 boomerang is in every other quest. This is also why the axe gets called a hammer.

guess so

Wow this is quite a popular thread; I hope everybody who intends to complete this quest can do so. I'm having trouble locating the boss key in Marathon. I've made my way to the boss door, and I know the layout of the dungeon pretty well, as a result of traversing it several times. I was hoping to find the key where the relic stone was, but no luck. I don't really want to have the location of the boss key given away, so if someone could provide just a hint to point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Yeah the marathon boss key is really tough to find. Here's a hint which should help:

Walls in rooms with teleporters may not be as solid as they seem.

thats because the game is a bit too hard 😊
lots of items and areas which lack clues 😞
the game could have used a little better balance of wandering vs. clues

Will there be any future updates to address curent glitches in the quest, or if you don't have the time would you consider passing on the issues for some else to correct?

Jman might be too busy on programming Zelda Classic itself to do any more updates. And heaven knows I never have the time I expect to...

I'm still updating, though admittedly I haven't actually weeded through this topic to see what's wrong. Though a LOT of DoY's problems can be fixed by debugging the engine, which is why I was holding off.

Sounds like your work on the most buggy Zelda Classic game ever has been useful to your work on the engine, then?

I've spent over an hour trying to find the item in the death mountain dungeon (i'm assuming its the red armor).
Where can I find it? and how do I get there cuz I've must have gone blind and can't find a path that leads me to it 😞

Well, first of all it was awhile since i was there playing. But I think there is one place where the ladder will cross a gap where the "landing" is on the next screen. (Upper left part of the big room i think)

I found it thnx

I guess the next mission is the Temple of Heroes?

ronblaze wrote:when you enter the room torch to the right at the bottom, that should melt the ice. For the bugs, can't help u on that 1

I finally got it to melt :P. it's the second last ice block at the bottom right of the screen.

thnx

ok I give up, what is the route to take in engima F-3, in the room where you have 3 yellow numberd blocks that are scattered. (I, II, and V)
I noted the symbols beside each of these numbers in the surrounding rooms but anywhere I walk I take massive damage and die.

also am I missing anything important on F-2 ? I don't have the relic or boss key yet. I do have the weapon though.

thnx

I have a question about how to get to the dungeon in death mountain, I have completed 6 nightmares, and already have the winged boots. But while trying to traverse the mountain, I can't seem to find the path I need to take. I found the cave requiring a bombable wall, but had noting of importance in there. I traveled through the other cave, and up the winged path, bombed the blocks there, and released the lava flow. But after that, I cannot seem to do anything more. Any help?

Use the path you have opened up with the lava flow as a short cut to the dungeon.

but that didn't open up any path, There's lava on all sides, and the only thing I saw changed happened in a area I can't seem to get to.

well, in those three rooms, there's two symbols on the floor. When you get to the big room with all three numbers, walk on those symbols to get past that room.

edit:: you need the relic and boss key from floor two. Might as well go back there and get them.

I thought I did walk on those blocks, I'll try again thnx

In enigma F-3, close to the boss (I assume) (front leg of lion or what ever the map is suppose to look like/ right side of the F-3 map). I warp into a room that is divided in half by blocks and is full of mummies which are on the other side of the blocks (bottom) and there is a door on the bottom side also. How do I get on the other side?

I have tried to smash and blow up the blocks with no luck. I also tried to push blocks (two of which moved down) but when I walk into the spaces where those blocks were I warp out of the room into a green screen (this games lovely warp bug).

could anyone plz assist?, thnx...

If I remember right there's 4 mummies. I got by rather quickly by just shooting them with your sword beam. Well, that requires the nightmare buster and full health. But that's another part of the challenge.

I have no problem killing them with the boomerang, book, or sword. the problem is that nothing happens and I can't get on the other side to walk throught the locked door (I have a key and the boss key).

btw, I is the nightmare buster in the temple of heroes? I didn't find it in the maduras muck cave.

Athanato,

In Enigma, you are taking the wrong door to get into the mummy room. The correct one is the left one on the bottom wall (although dont ask me why). Before going through there, you need to solve the major puzzle on F2 to get the boss key and relic. The only hint I'm going to give you is to pay close attention to the numbers on the walls in the rooms with roman numeral symbols on the floor. You are given the pattern of tiles to step on for 4 3 and 2 1; what should the pattern for 3 2 be?

It's amazing you've made it this far without the nightmare buster. To get the nightmare buster, superbomb a tile in the dreameaters village. They will tell you some directions to take in the desert. Talk to people in the mirage village to figure out what screen to take these directions from. After this, the final location of the nightmare buster will be revealed.

This is assuming that by the nightmare buster you mean the lvl. 3 sword. The lvl. 4 sword is in the temple of heres, but you will need the mirror shield to get it.

LOL the nightmare buster is the lvl 3 sword? I got that a long time ago in a village close to mirage village outside of the desert.
althought I did super bomb the ground in the dreameater village and the man told me to find the MB in maduras muck.

thnx, I'll finish up enigma now. I already cleared death mountain.

I find most zelda games easy, as for this one I had to use my backup strategy, get the items and beef up, then kill the bosses for death mountain, enigma, and predator.

What do I do with the charactor that is fishing at the capitol port dock? I cleared enigma and the gun is destroyed but he won't do anything. Am I missing something or do I go back later in the game for him?

also there is a glitch when you fight the gun, after you defeat the boss if you re-enter the room you start all over again with the fight.

Sorry to nag you but any idea on whne 2.11 will be out?
The conveyors in the Vines dungeon are impossible, every time I get pushed off and the controls don't respond well on them. I have to re-load my game from the begining each time and start from the begining every time I fall down.

There is one room that is full of conveyrors (no pits) and it just refuses to let me walk through the door, just keeps tossing me around. (near the center of Vines), some times it just refuses to even let me walk 😞

Is the vines dungeon a required mission? It is impossible to complete as my controls do not work properly when I walk on the conveyors (i.e. link doesn't walk in the direction I am pressing and thus the AI makes link walk into pits).
