DOY revised: bug in dream village?

Finally got through Vines and Mirrors... For Vines I think I've missed out on some rooms... Hope they don't contain good stuff (eg: HCs) But Vines was really a nightmare in comparison to the rest because of the conveyers... Is the level supposed to turn brown before you tackle the boss or after? I strangely got the level to turn brown after exploring the level rather extensively (besides those rooms I missed) and by walk in and out of the first two rooms (staring point then second room, walk back to starting point and so on... Was doing this to collect more hearts)

Oh well, now onto Elven Caves and Marathon!

bigboylink wrote:I experienced this problem as well, and I also can't seem to remember where EXACTLY it occurs in Mirage. But when you get to the rainy screens, you can just run through the Deku Tree again to emerge in your house in the waking world. If this happens to you after you complete at least one dungeon, you can blow on the whistle to get back to the real world.

I just finished the game last night!!! The ending is really cool! Thanks for an awesome quest, C-Dawg.

Congrats bigboylink! 😎

Yea I had the same problem, I could not get into the room to the far center left of the map. Does anyone know what is in this room?

In the mirror cave did you get to the room to the far bottom left of the main floor? I could not find a way to get to it. Is there anything important there?

Could someone help me with the Elf cave? I can't find my way around the cave... Are there correct routes that branch out from midway of path??

probably so... there has been an earlier thread about it but I coulnd't understand where they meant to bomb

Having the Lens helps a LOT in the elf cave. Use it frequently.

Thank bigboylink 😊 I was too fixated at the routes in the middle section of the cave and didn't look at the roads at the lower end... Finally made my way to Marathon... *whew* The dungeon sure looks huge.

One question though: Do I get the mirror shield here?

Yes, and it won't be easy to get.

Thanks for the info bigboylink but I already deleted and restarted the game. After started playing again I thought the exact same thing but it was already to late. I think the problem was in f1. stairs surrounded by blocks. It didn't happen this time though. Right now I'm having trouble with the blue snakes. I only have 6 hearts and they kicked my butt. Also I got into the boss room once and they killed my and now I can't get back in there. Did anyone else have this problem? I did get the boss key although it doesn't show that I have it. Are all the dreams this hard? 😊

You can't enter the boss room? Did you use the continue button? To prevent quite a lot of continue bugs from occuring, I just hit the re-entry button (even though travelling is really a pain sometimes like Storm Tower) Do you have the blue bommerang and the potion? Those items would make your life slightly easier...

And yes, the nightmares are tough so be prepared mentally 😊 But it feels great to finish one 😃

I'm just an average player but saw that everyone seemed to be having a great time playing this quest so thought I would give it a try too. I'm going to keep trying and who knows, maybe I'll be a better quest player when I'm done. 😊

Probably so becuase this quest really hones your skills in controlling Link 😊

Finally found the mirror shield!!!! That was quite a tedious process... *whew* But still those green guys still take quite a chunk off my health even though their beams reflect off my shield.. Unless that means I need the golden arrows to solve that problem...

One question: If my mirror shield gets eaten, is there any chance I'll be able to retrieve it within the game and not have to re-entry?

Brandon wrote:I can't seem to find the Magic Sword. Where can I find it?

Have you made it through the Deku Tree and the 3 dungeons where you get your basic items? (bow, glove and flippers?) The Magic sword and shield shop can be found in the overland but at the boarder of the lost woods, find a pool of water and swim from there... You should be able to find it 😊

Brandon wrote:I mean the L3 Sword. I've already beaten the Train Station.

There's a chain of clues that will eventually lead to the level 3 sword. Have you made it through the desert maze yet? Someone in the Dreameater's village knows the way.

I'm stuck in Marathon... I've found the second floor map which has a magical thing to the 3rd level... After exploring the few rooms, I've found myself back on the first floor not knowing where to go next... There are areas I still cannot access but can't seem to find my way through... Help please? 😊

as stated before, 3rd floor rooms with no telepoters are not what they seem to be.

There's a clue in the castle which will tell you how to get that key. I think the clue is on the first floor.

Brandon wrote:I'm wondering how to get past this room now.

Good luck - it is possible to cross that room, and there's really no tricks to it. But the conveyor belts are so screwy, you won't always be walking in the direction you intend to be walking. Try doing it in slow motion (use the F3 and F4 keys) for increased probability of success.

Thank you very much. I had never known about that key. It makes me happy to be able to get past that room.

Just curious, the cave where you need to go through to get the bottle, there's a section where there's a pit and a block on either side I'm assuming you need the Hookshot to cross this but the hookshot doesn't work here, is this a bug?

Just curious

Hi! I got a problem...i can't get the solution of the desert maze....
