Don't say that, lad. I may be "god-like" at graphics (It took me 10-15 hours, including revisions/remakes), but as I said earlier, I'm a rookie at everything else. That, and I never really tried planning much.
As for your shot there... hmm, try putting different things in different places. By that, I mean change it so that instead of 'put all flowers here, all grass over there,' try mixing it up a bit.
Change of tileset? Well... if you've worked on that quest for like a max of 10 hours, then I say it's safe to go ahead and change it. It's really up to you. Quests with at least ok graphics are fine, just as long as the gameplay of it makes up for everything (Look at the original zelda quest. Not so great graphics, great gameplay (And replay value)).
By the way, don't be a suicidally psychotic idiot like me, where my first quest (which is what you see above) will take at the very least 2 years to make. Be smart, make a good, short first quest, get better and better (and faster and faster unlike how I'm slowly getting faster and faster), and don't "pull a shoelace."
And I'm still away.
I'm 3/4 through the quest, so I really can't change the tileset. And the message- as far as you know, Kingboo, I am 12. Or 21. or 5745674567561! I AM IMMORTAL! HA HA HA! And a demo for the first 4 courses is here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q5IKINZH
I don't have anything in the castle besides the four courses yet. The point is to search aimlessly in each course until you find a peice of the triforce of wisdom. There are caps from mario 64 that you need to use in each course. I blocked off everything but the first few courses. Tell me if you like it.

*Whistles*
I would rather entertain people with a Shoelace than make a simple quest that people probably wouldn't enjoy too much. I've been working on my Quest for about 2 monthes and 2 weeks and much progress is has been made for the most part. Especially the tileset which has evolved from a shi*ty tileset that no should use to almost a whole brand new tileset that can even be rivaled with Pure. It just takes time and patience. And you can't be lazy at all otherwise people will notice. The new enemys I made were very time consuming to make. If it weren't for pencil and paper....
*ahem* (coughes) What about my quest demo? I'm getting impatiant. Are you all playing some kind of prank on me?
yes zeldafan500 were all playing a prank on you to make you mad and say stupid stuff
Just saying I had to abandon that quest because I got a new compuiter and forgot to put all of my quests on a disk.
Not to take offense, but I'd have to say that losing those quests is probably for the better. Your first couple quests will most likely not be quality stuff. Take this time to rather than 'complete' a quest, just play around with the editor and get used to the game engine and the tilesets you'll eventually be using for your first 'official' quest. The more experience you have, the better your first initial quest result will be. Trust me.

started on making SURVIVOR, Exate released his MXL tileset, and I'm using it...
although... I'm not working on this often cause of... SCHOOL!
OH AND VERY NICE SAM ATOMS!
I love mixes, and I think your mix is great... well... only if you changed the overworld tiles a little...
Darn... that's just too cool. Yeah... I don't think I can find a way to improve any of them... I take that back: Ok, you know how the wall interiors are just kinda blank? What I do is, when there's room (Which there typically is), I add more walls on top of them.
Kinda like these:

Fyi, the demo for that is in my signature.
But asides from that... looks freaking awesome. It makes me want to work on my own quest right now. Also... those are some big levels. Probably a heck of a lot of work, eh eh?
That's one quest that I'll want to play very soon... just as you say.
Ah... second shot: See the corner on the left wall? It's the wrong tile.
Sam Atoms: Very nice remade LOZ tiles. I'd play Blaman's over that (No offense), but I'd still want to play it quite a bit from what I see. It could use some more original designs, but oh well.
XdragonSB: A great Metroid shot... but the colored lines just don't seem to fit in. Dunno how you'd really change 'em a bit, but nonetheless... nice shot. Can't figure out how to improve it otherwise, so you're easily good to go (from me).
Thanks! I'll fix them up. When I went back onto my quest, I saw the bug with the corner. Fixed it. Lots of work to make the dungeons, so I hope it turns out. As for level B, I'm thinking of re-doing the entire level. (Too short.) Those screens you posted are pretty awsome! I'll have to try the demo next chance I get.
*copied over from PureZC*
Some more screens. School's been eating up my time, so working slowly still. >_>;

I posted this screen earlier in the thread. I changed the pallette to make it brighter and more desert-looking.

A private oasis in the same desert town. However, that water is contaminated (hence the browning grass and the dead plants).

A pharmacy. I think I need to add some shelves in there and maybe a customer or two.

A cave with a simple block puzzle.
Any comments and critique welcome.
the tiles are from the bs-1st.
already started, so i think, if progress keeps running as smoothly as it does, it should be done in about two months.

link battling the first boss(es)
i'll be posting more when i finish more.
Ok I'm here posting some pictures of my first quest. I'm using Pure tileset but I probably won't for other quests, I just like it for starting out. Anyway onto the pictures.

This picture is showing a waterfall flow into a pond on the edge of a desert.

Here is some houses..nothing that special.

Here is my favorite. It is showing how the grass terrain is turning into a desert terrain area. In the bottem left corner you can see my custom mountain tiles that kinda end off the mountain. I have other custom mountain tiles but they aren't shown in any of these pics.

Here is a screen from my first dungeon. As you can see you will have to visit this room more than once to get the block all around till you get it on the switch.

Here is just another room where you will have to make a bridge appear using your flute.
That is all for now. The quest still isn't named and I'm now working on the second dungeon.
kool. maybe you could have a bit more variety in the tiles u use? tho ifnu want to keep it looking simple, thats fine.
The design is based off of the original FF series so if his idea is to strictly use graphics from those games then there is a bit more of a restriction there, but it looks fantastic! How much have you completed so far?
wait, final fantasy? i never saw those graphics on a final fantasy game... then again, ive only played the 7th. wasnt the original that had NES graphics (like that 1) only in japan?
Look up FF games for the good old NES and you will learn some new and wonderful things.
ok... is it for the NES in america or is it only on the GBA remake?
Final Fantasy I and II were released in the US on the NES back in the day. Final Fantasy III (as Japan knows it) was not released in the US at all and that is why it was completely redone and it will be released for the DS on 11/14. Some of the other FF games have been re-released on the GBA so that players can experience them again - or for the first time for some of you youngins.
Anyone remember my last demo of Realm of Mirrors? No? That's probably because I only posted it at PureZC. :P Same with Nayru's Quest (tentative title) and... My Metroid quest, Metroid: The Chozo Prophecy. Ooh, nice. Anyways, screens!

The Miniboss of the Phazon Frigate on Metroid: The Chozo Prophecy. Lots of Pirates!

Boss 1 of... LINK THE MAGICIAN!! Yes, it's back! Yay! 😃 Anyways, Bosses in that quest play the Boss music from Sonic Advance 3. 😊

...And here it is, a new screen of The Legend of Zelda: The Realm of Mirrors! Arboria Forest is the location shown here. To the left is...

...Arboria Villiage! Check out my custom subscreen! It really IS custom- 100% Custom Graphics all down the line on that Subscreen (minus text (duh) and items), so look out! :P By the way, that's a redone overworld. You won't recognize a single area in this quest, and I'm redoing all the dungeons I've worked on so far, except Level 2- Revfan from PureZC (the same one as here, but he said it on PureZC) says it's my best dungeon in the quest. 😃 Level 2 remains such a good dungeon. I tried making it as long and hard as I could for a Level-2 dungeon, so... Oops, going off-topic. Anyways, this quest deserves more than one screen here. 😊
Realm of Mirrors looks really impressive. Custom Subscreen stuff, eh? I could go for some of that in FFAS...
As for FFAS, I wanna try to make it more like FF1 and 3 combined. The fact that you're a RedMage throughout the entire game means that you can only get RedMage-equipable swords, so there will be shops that sell other swords, that you simply cannot buy. Period.
As for how far am I done? Well, Overworld is going to be atleast 1 full Map. Considering that the Overworld is FF style, and not Zelda style, it will be few and far between towns/caves/castles, etc. So I wish to make up for that with larger, more diverse towns and castles. Those will obviously take longer to make than...regular?...ones.
Also, has anyone else ever created an FF-esque quest before? I thought Plith did...
Heh... Never shown screens here on AGN before, but you've seen these all on PureZC.
Not from a quest, but from a TotR tileset I am working on.

Obviously, I need to add more floor details.

Same with Town objects, and I also need to learn how to use the town graphics to make good screens, as this one blatantly sucks.

I also need to organize the combo list more...

(This one hasn't been shown on PZC yet) Enemies started! Yay! I sortof fudged these, as I cannot formally start on enemies until Big Enemies are somehow possible.
