Glad to see you posting my Fusion wall sprites here Xdragon. I guess I can post some screens here too.

All old screens that can be seen at PureZC. These are the latest screens though.

Uhh, You've posted the same screen twice... 😉
my only bad comment is that I think thoes brinstar walls are covering up too much, I think you can make them... err... make less brinstar walls.

This is a part of T-ron, the forest area of my Metroid Quest.

EDIT: This is not one image, if you quote my post, you'll see 4 images than one. Just to point things out... >_>

so many metroid quests that each looks the same as the next. No real difference really. Wondering when people will actually re-invent the metroid graphics to create a new style and 'feel' of Metroid instead of using the standard set of metroid graphics already out there. Its like PURE tileset being spammed all over again.

this quest looks GOD LIKE.

MOST of those tiles were from me. The doors, the chozo, brinstar walls, the bombs, some missles, the beams. and door aniamtions, and stuff.

Well most of these are new like the wtaer dirt and grass, which I will be having a slight different detail from those. oh wel.
the samus is made by Darkspawn of PZC, though, I don't like it that much.

EDIT: I Need some credit! T_T

Actually it isn't. Even try downloading the Metroid Prime tileset? My quest was built from the base of that and now its almost none of the original tiles are used anymore. And for those that don't like my current samus, well those are now outdated. They didn't look right.

Working on a desert village. Not quite done with it yet, as I think I need to put some more detail into it.

NPC to talk to who lifts his head up when you approach him and a random house

Magic shop and one of the houses in the upper village.

Any suggestions on how I could improve this area at all? Still doesn't look as impressive as some of the other stuff I've seen in this thread.

well, I haven't posted here in a LONG time. guess I should share something, considering that my old shots are beyond outdated (and no longer showing)

Yoshiman: Let's see... try adding some broken objects here and there. A few cracks in the houses might help too. Oh right, and some more rocks here and there. Aside from that, it looks fairly decent right now. Just pointin' somethin' out here - If that light reflection on the blue rim of the house is so bright, then why is it the rest of the desert looks pretty dim? Mayhaps a bit of a palette change to make it look a little lighter?

*b*: The first shot looks gorgeous... only thing that I might complain about is that the trees have practically no shadow. The second shot looks fine but... compared to the darkness of the water, the cliffs are BRIGHT (as well as the grass). If you can, try making it a bit darker. You probably already intend on changing the top of that pillar, but I'll say it anyways - boring... needs a bit of detail (and I'm one to say that... I can't even make a pillar... hehe..). As for the whole water area... it's a bit confusing. If you look at it from right to left, then it's fine. If you look at it from left to right however... then it's hard to tell what is and what isn't underwater. When just playing the game and you come to that screen... then you probably wouldn't care. So it's fine, really...

Two places. You can upload them to Imageshack and choose how big they are. Or you can try Photobucket.

Nice puzzle in the second shot there... some nice detail all around. The only one there looking a little bit dull is the fourth one, but I guess that really can't be helped unless you're using transparent water. Overall... excellent shots and a good use of the gameboy tileset (Whatever it's called). Best use that I've ever seen of it...

Here's the starting town of my quest - The Alternate Hyrule (tAH for short):

(Note: These are 6 linked screens)

Sorry for the black line, but I didn't feel like going through the extra work to get rid of it.
Aside from that, all comments and suggestions on how to improve it are welcome.

WOW!
Holy super detail!
Nice screens WindStrike!
The only thing I see is the houses could have some flowers!
...Well Hyrule's Fall has hardly any flowers though!😉

How can I post screens?
Oh! Sorry I already asked that!

Link 75:
I like that GB tileset!
Nice detail!

NOTE TO ALL:
Don't use too much of the same tile on one screen!(trust me)
Don't use too many mosters!(super high diffaculty is not fun)
Don't "overload" a screen!(if you know what I mean)

Very nice Wind! I like the clear water and everything else. Now, I would make the path less strait, especialy with those stone paths. Also mabe have less of a variety of trees. Plus, I don't think you need that whole light thing going up a few screens.

Rulehy- First take a screenshot in Zelda Classic (F12) or Zquest (Z). Get an image host like photobucket. Upload the screens. Then post them.

mabe have less of a variety of trees

Well... suppose I could knock out those palm trees in the top-left. If it looks better (to me), then I'll keep it like that.
Now, I would make the path less strait, especialy with those stone paths.

It's a town, so it's fine for it to be straight. What I probably will do with that is make it get interrupted by grasses, roots, bushes, and other things here and there.
By the way, that clear water is what I call Swimmable Transparent Water. Check my tutorial on it here if ya want to know how to use/work it: http://zcu.sephiroth.ws/forums/index.php?showtopic=140
The whole light thing is temporary with it going up through the top-middle screen. I'm gonna eventually get a fade out so that it ends at the top of the bottom-middle screen.

You're probably gonna ask: It's a town, right? Where's the bloody people?!
Well... I haven't figured out good placements for them yet, so they have yet to come. And I'll get around to adding the wind later.

I'm making a new quest 'A Link to the Mushroom Kingdom'. Princess peaches castle is sucked through a wormhole into hyrule and the 8 peices of the triforce of wisdom are put in it.These are some pictures. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k200/shadowcelibi/zelda004-1.jpg A wing cap from super mario 64? http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k200/shadowcelibi/zelda005-1.jpg Now link can fly! http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k200/shadowcelibi/zelda002-1.jpg What is Princess peaches castle doing in hyrule? It looks pritty big!

I came by briefly to mention how amazing Windstrike's images are. If the rest of the quest is as good as that, it will definitely be one I'll be looking forward to.

Yeah well... problem is, it's gonna take me a WHILE before I actually manage to pull everything else up to that level of graphics or higher. Here's my current problems:
-1) Somewhat ok at winter areas
-2) Need to work with forests a lot more before I can rate myself there
-3) Still a rookie at the system, so my skills may be a bit of a dissapointment... but I am learning from my sources!... slowly.
-4) Dungeons... - Need to plan/design them better next time (Level 1 will probably end up getting a revision)
-5) Caves... I have no exp. with them, whatsoever (Considering the huge cave network in my quest, that's a problem... major problem)

So... don't look forward to it until after I release a demo (Sweet overworld in your sig, DFW... even though it's just in the sig). But guess what... I'm still in Michigan, and I didn't bring the quest to work on it. So I gotta wait til' Sunday before I can work on it again. Therefore... I'm not here. Period. So... end of story.

Oh, and thanks for the compliments/comments/suggestions everyone (Then again, I have done like, 2 or 3 revisions on that starting town... good thing I change the upper half into a town from a wetlands).
(By the way, I like the shoreline-like trees in the topleft... so I'm keeping them)

...so I suppose my quest isn't even good enough to even mention, because the other quest is SO much better than mine, and mine is a pethetic pile of c*** that is an insult to zelda. Windstrike must be the best quest maker ever, while I am the worst.

Don't read into the post like that. You have to play some of DFW's quests to understand why she has complimented WindStrike. Download and play Hidden Duality or Island of the Winds. You can also see the screen shots in this thread from DFW too and they are very similar in style to WindStrike's.

You just need more experience with ZQuest to see what it can do. I am in the same boat myself. There is A LOT I still have to learn about designing a quest and overworld layout. Have patience and look at these quests to see what you can do.

If you want to get respect around here, I highly suggest you don't take everything so seriously and aggressive when someone doesn't respond to you. Your screens are lacking alot.

Well, now that you have drawn attention to your quest pics, I shall take my time to review them. The real reason I didn't respond to yours Zeldafan500, is because since I am at BOTraining, when I do have time to get online, I just glance through the screenshots, if yours is embedded in clickable links within the post itself, I am most likely going to pass over them, because I have so little time to read into many posts to realize that there are screenshots embedded in the text.
Now your first and second screenshots with the Wing Cap from Mario 64. I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do there, make a big open sky area or whatnot. But the detail is quite lacking and you might want to fill in the edges a bit to give a bit more definition and screen 'closure' to better identify the open sky space. Make it feel like you're high up in the air. Right now, I'm not feeling that. Your last screenshot is a bit dull. The supposed 'castle' at the north end is very undetailed and is basically made up of the same tile over and over again minus the entrance, which could very well stand alone as a seperate structure. (as it was intended) The water needs to be changed, but I could be wrong since I haven't seen it in 'motion' (if it does indeed combo cycle). And add some trees or a layered overhang gate over the entrance to that bridge, maybe with some shadows. Anything to liven up the bottom half. Maybe put some rocks jutting up from the water.
Just a few suggestions. Don't take all these comments personally, everyone who starts with Zquest isn't expected to do good their first few quests. My god, look at my first few quests: Wolfstyle and Fallen One. When I look back on those quests, I realize just how much I truly 'sucked' at quest making. But I kept at it and I was able to learn and grow as a quester and make great quests. Keep at it.
Now that I've sufficient spent a lot of time typing, I need to get off and back to studying. Hope this helped you.

You have to say why, bluedeath. Otherwise, why bother posting. People are looking for critique, not result-less judgements.

ZF500, the screenshot is "effective" in that it conveys the mood of a large castle with waves crashing (nearly) against it, but it lacks that "oomph" by being constrained to the Newfirst tileset, which doesn't really have all that much going for it. You could have lightning bolts in the distance. You could have a dark forest on either lower side, opening up to reveal a craggly road to the castle. You could have a thick stone bridge leading up to a towering arch. You could have large, bricky castle walls. ... With GARGOYLES! 😃

But alas. =/

If you need resources, check the DoR set at www.purezc.com - They have quite a bit of supplies, but you'll probably need to recolor them to the Newfirst set.
