Post screenshots of your quests here. [1.0]

863 replies · 325,042 views · Started 22 October 2004

There was a thread similar to this in the past. Post some screenshots of your quests here with their names, and include links to the quests if you have released something. This thread should be a good place for people to see all the things people are doing in ZC. I have seen some amazing screenshots of quests on other forums, but not as much here. Also please don't steal tiles from other member's screenshots, I have heard that some don't post them anymore because of that.

Here are some pics of my LEXX quest.

A demo can be found here.

(Must . . . . . bring . . . . . thread . . . . . to . . . . . life)

This quest, currently code-named "DX," will eventually have some such name as "Rise of the Undead Emperor".

(Thanks to Glenn the Great for making the tileset)

(Holy jumping bejabers, I thought this thread was going to sit up here with no more replies and collect cobwebs for eternity)

Interesting that you should bring this up now DFW, as I am in fact in the process of finishing up a 4-level demo. The demo is actually done, all I need to do is playtest it and the upload will shortly follow. I'm shooting to have the demo uploaded within 36 hours.

By the way, the screenshots needed updating, and as you may notice, this has been done.

EDIT: The 4-level demo is uploaded and online now. You can pick it up this-a-way.
(The address needed to be updated since those damn hackers took down the entire system of ZCN boards)

Enjoy, and good luck!

Wow. Considering the caliber of quests you've put out, I suppose that impressing DarkFlameWolf means something.

For now, I'm busy with a number of things, so that means I'll likely not be doing any more work on this quest until the spring. In the meantime, see if you can find the cave entrance screen that takes you to a huge portrait of The Dude (the guy in my avatar) from "The Big Lebowski" (that is, if you haven't already).

Wow! Those pics look awsome, Snort! I can't wait to play this one! I like the Minish Cap style dungeon and the Mario touch with the Podobos(hope I spelled it right) is neat. That is some cool looking lava too. And I like the doors/windows in the mountians(which themselves are nice) too. Oooh, I just saw that you have a demo! I was so busy enjoying the pics that I missed it at first 😊. I'm going to download and play it now. Thanks! Oh, and I also like the bridges!

Edit: I played the demo...great job Snort! I loved it, can't wait for the full quest!

I have decided to put some new screenshots of my first quest up here... it should hopefully be finished next month, with AP exams and finals it's been hard to find time to work on it, but it will get done.

Careful... that sand is hot!

I thought I might go ahead and post some shots of my upcoming Legend of Sonic the Hedgehog quest here, rather than starting a new thread.

This quest will be based on the original 1st quest but will not be a literal remake. There will be extra dungeons and possibly extra overworld areas. All tiles were painstakingly designed by myself or snagged from Sonic Genesis games. When I release the quest later this year I'll hopefully be able to compile a Sonic tileset for others to use.

This is a major work in progress, so these screens may be drastically different from the final release.

Sonic begins his adventure to rescue the Chaos Emeralds and destroys a bush in search of Rings. Note the "continue" post...heh heh.

A gang of CrabMeat badniks guard a Ring monitor.

Like I said, this isn't a perfect adaptation of the 1st quest.
Here Sonic tries to figure out how to cross the broken bridge and grab those Rings down there.

A few more Green Hill Zone shots. I grabbed those palm trees off the original Sonic Genesis game.

Tails shows up every now and then to lend a hand.
(I know, this isn't a very good shot. Just wanted to show Tails.)

Anyway, hope you enjoy these pics. Now that college is out for the summer I'll hopefully be able to make a lot of progress.

Which quest are you talking about? If it's mine, the demo link is on the bottom of my signature.

wow... those sonic screenshots look awesome.

Here's some stuff for my remake.

I've changed all of the text (except of course, princess zelda's...)

The subscreen,level 2,level 8, and level 3.

There's a certain Aura about the original Zelda...
...It consists of Fire, Lasers, and, oddly enough, electricity.
When I play Zelda 1, these are what I have going through my mind...

These three elements are generally felt in the Title screen Music.(for me, at least.)

There was a midi in Dr. Wily's Revenge: director's cut that really brought this out,( I believe it was called Title Remix) and what I feel when I hear it is what goes into the game, if you know what I mean.

If you don't know what I mean, well, I mean that there's a lot of "energy", so to speak.

This, I think, Influences the artstyle you see in those screenshots.

Interesting comments on the title screen music and the MegaMan stuff, but, no offense, I think that your above post is kind of off-subject. This thread is for posting/discussion of screenshots.

Old-Skool, I do remember that Midi. It would fit the theme of your quest very nicely, apparently. It's sufficiently dark. Do get some rain on all of the lower overworld areas. That would just push it over the edge from "Awesome" To "... *Drooling*..." Yes, those screenshots simply kick too much arse.

"Dark"?!

Anyways, thanks for the comments. I tried to keep Link looking like he does in the artwork to the game. That Title remix from Dr. Wily's revenge was originally my overworld tune...

ah, well. It's still in the midi list. After I finish prepping it up, maybe I'll release an initial version, see what you guys think!
And yeah, expect from more cool stuff like what you see above! And thanks!

this is my first quest which I recently finished:<img src="http://www.geocities.com/alboe123/blank.bmp"> I am hoping to get it added tot he QDB, but geocities won't let me upload it for some reason and I can't get anyother places to work either.

yeah... According to Cdawg's tutorial, you need to build a website to host them from, and they need to be in ZIP format.

MarioZ, you could try using ImageShack to store your screenshots. It's free to use.

I use ImageShack to load my screenshots into the forums.

I'm going to take the liberty of starting the second page of this thread.

Strider1982, it doesn't need to be mentioned again, but you are teh r0xx0r.

marioz, you've got your image uploaded OK, it's just that you don't use HTML to display it. You've got to use [*IMG] and [*/IMG] tags to do the encoding (remove the `*'s).

those are some screenshots from my most recent project (oh God, he has another one!)

*B* You have amazing graphics! I hope I will be able to make stuff like that. I haven't started my first quest yet, but I will be soon.
