Did you enter the lava flows through an entrnace that required you to use the raft? If not, you entered the lava flows the wrong way for the gauntlet.

There is your LI Build to play on.
Yet another question from me. Where is the ocarina? And just so I don't have to ask another question, to get to level 2, do I have to remove the shieka stone in the graveyard, or the one in the lava flows? And so far, I give the game a 9.5 star rating. The only thing I think needs to be improved is the music in some areas, especially the destroyed village area.

Ocarina is in tahou woods, and requires the power gauntlet. If the "sheika stone" is that big block with an eye symbol on it, then yes, you need to remove the on in the lava flows. Don't remember if there was one in the graveyard(besides the one in front of catacombs), but if there is, removing it certainly doesn't hurt things.
The woods? I looked there and all I found was a heart container piece behind a hard shoot the statues minigame. Well, thanks!
Just a reply on how well I'm doing.
On level 2 with a bottle of full potion, ocarina, raft, bow and arrows, gauntlet, magic shield (one that I still have), two magic upgrades, and 7 hearts with no HPC. Found one triforce piece too, must say very fun.
I'm gonna see how far I get in this quest with absolutely no help.
russadwan: yeah, the Ocarina is in Tahou Woods. Just slightly northwest from the arrow minigame.
And I'm glad to hear your only complaint is the music. 😊 But it is difficult to find music that everyone loves. So even though you may not like some tunes, I hope you still find them fitting to their environments.
ZeldaFan001: Keep us updated! By the way, you were one of the few who managed to beat MMDWR, am I right? Lost Isle should give you no trouble compared to that game. 😉
Yay, for the most part, the music fits well. Its really just the village music that seems not to fit. Another concern I have is this: why do you alwys start with only 3 hearts, rather than full health? I started laughing when I got the ocarina and remembered that big discussion everyone had about wether or not "You got ocarina" was gramticly correct. And the sky garden looks very nice. The only thing is that on the dark side, you can se clouds go by, giving the impression tha the palace is zooming through the sky. But if you look on the light side, you can see it stays in one place over the lava flows. But the level is so well made. Combining the light, dark side AND the Link to the Past blue/red switch system just makes it amazing. And the tall grass kees the player suplied with arrows and just enough health to keep him alive but one hit away from death. Two thumbs up.:thumbsup:

I almost succeeded in completing the game with no help. I had to look in this topic to find the location of the Master Dome, and I felt so stupid when I found out where/how to get to it. 😞
Btw: I love how you guys used Doom and Duke Nukem (but mostly Doom) music in this game and how it works!

Doom as in doom 3 or doom as in the old doom and doom 2? Cus I'm past level 2 and if it's the latter I haven't noticed it yet.
Link75: Actually, Lost Isle mostly uses Duke Nukem music. The Catacomb area has some Doom tunes.
russadwan: Some people do find the 3 heart rule frustrating, but the game would have been way too easy with "continue with full hearts". And at the beginning of each level (or near the entrance) there are screens where you can easily refill your life, so this shouldnät be a big problem unless you are playing in a big hurry. 😉
most of the songs are from Duke Nukem 3D. There are a few songs from other games including Doom, but not very many.
I meant that I like the Doom music more. 😉
Where was the Level 2 music from? I didn't recognize it, but I really liked it. (Favorite dungeon by the way)
Yeah, I noticed there were some duke nukem songs in the game.
What can I say? Most of the Duke songs really are kinda depressing if you think about it. And most of them fit the 'mood' of the type of quest we were going for. So thus they were used. Furthermore, 90% of those songs haven't been used in any ZC quest to date, so it would be mostly a fresh new soundtrack to many people.
Well I personally found them more nostalgic than depressing, but I can see why you'd say that.
Well, I'm on Level 3 now and currently stuck. Missing a key for the lockblock and none of the music-related doors are opening no matter what I do.
I had to take a break from it, so I'm currently exploring.
One shield taken, but found another so no worries. 9 hearts, Hero's Bow, LV2 sword, and two triforce pieces. Currently searching for possibly another I'm missing...
You're missing 2 triforce peices, not 1. And I'm geussing you don't have the blue mail? You'll want to get it(it's in a half-level on the horgrus summit).
I'm only on level 2. I can't believe all you get for defeating that giant plant is a key. I can't even find a keyhole for it. It gets so frustrating.😡 Where is the keyhole? And how do you get the triforce pieces to enter the catacombs? Or the level 2 sword. Sorry, I am just not too good at ZC. Especially when it comes to trying to find something. And by the way, did you alter the gibdo's hp at all? I swear they take one more hit then they normally do.
You need to go get the wand with it. You have to explore around and get to this room with mechanical wizzrobes, kill them and go to the next room to get the wand. Also the L2 sword is in glatheral canyon, you can't explore that until you get the wand, then the candle in dasa woods.
The triforce peices are in hidden triforce dungeons. The readme file hints at where they are. Though you should note that the swamp one is actually at the very bottom of Dasa Woods, but you have to go through the swamp to get to the particular screen.
Russadwan: Every level has 2 keys. There are no locked doors. You need one key to open a big chest and another one to open a boss chest. (Level 3 is an exception because it has 11 keys.)
This is how you can get to the big chest of Lv2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=mjr6-zCUfqo
Zeldafan001: You have to learn the Royal Melody on the 2nd floor before you can open the "note doors". To find your second key of the level, go to where the first locked door was and head south. Bomb a wall to enter a timed puzzle and proceed...
odd, I still can't find it
Bombing the wall and entering the puzzle, there is a maze of sorts to the right that has many switches but the door I open I can't get to yet. From what I've seen, there is a staircase leading up so I must get down from the 2nd floor to enter that area. Falling into pits from the 1st floor hasn't done much good either from what I can see. If a key is in that chest, where is there a second floor entry to get there?
Just found it, you didn't tell me I needed the boomerang, continuing...
Ah yes, silly me. Sorry that I forgot. Many people have got themselves stuck in that 2x2 maze because they don't have the Boomerang. But when you do have it, proceed with the level and find the fantastic Royal Melody... 😊
I'm now stuck on the room in level 3 with:
G E IV R D A
in front of 1 way blocks. What exactly is it hinting at. I tried spelling out words and stuff and it isn't working.
cool, finished Level 3 and currently doing some more searching. I have found 5 shields and have used up 3. >_> Managed to find the secret for stuff that "you can't originally find in a shop" if you know what I mean.
Currently looking for the blue mail and felt stupid when I found out the blocks activate with the boomerang. In the temple at the top of the mountain. Aside from what I already have, I snagged the second bait item and stepladder of course, and 3 triforce pieces.
I just wanted to give an early review of this quest, its programs like Zelda Classic and quests like this that I don't currently own a nex-gen console. Screw that when you can play something like this for free and shows the many fun attributes of playing classic "Legend of Zelda". It's that good. I say this because I've already wasted 24 hours and counting of my life playing this quest, hehe. Can't wait to finish this thing and find out what happens.
Viva la classics.
EDIT: you wouldn't happen to have a custom sfx.dat file for this quest, would you?
Anarchy: The answer to that puzzle is in the throne room. I don't like giving out answers just like that, but I can tell you that you have to form the name of the king of Bhalstok from those letter blocks.
Zeldafan: You know where to get the Blue Mail, right?
Anyways, I'm very glad to hear what you said. The exact reason I am making games myself is my disappointment in the gaming industry. The Nintendo's and Capcom's just aren't making good games anymore, so I'm glad to hear there is someone else out there that rather plays good and free games than pay for average crap that the current generation games are. 😊
And what comes to a custom .sfx file, there isn't one... yet. I wanted to have ebtter sound effects for Lost Isle but I just wasn't able to find anything, and Wolfie wasn't very helpful either. 🙄 Anyways, whenever ZC 2.5 will be released Wolfie and I have to make a 2.5 version of LOst Isle and that would be a good chance to upgrade the sound effects.
Gotcha, I'd actually been to the throne room, but didn't notice the writing on the colums.
I am stoped in Lv4. I have boss key and one key. Now where can I go, I presume that is a secret way for open gate 4, I am disconcert! Do you help me for find correct way? Thank!

Do you have the Rod Upgrade Chip form the lab part of the level? You need it to get to the Gate 4 switch.
No, I haven't the chip but how I pass on the other side of level 4 when is a chip? The arrow not open the way near the shop.
