Lost Isle RELEASED
Compliments for the boss of level 4 - he actually killed me a few times. He sure seemed to have quite a nice "script" behind him ^.^
Level 4 was really nice overall, a nice balance of exploring and fighting. Now to explore the world again to see what the new staff can burn :3
Hey, I just relized where both the final boss fight midis came from! They're both from Final Fantasy! I never even played the games, and I was just browsing through their midis when I heard the Morlach battle theme. And now I have a question. You two each had a final boss midi you wanted to use. But only one made it. What was the other one you were thinking about using?
the other one is now the escape theme when you're running to get off the island.
DarkFlameWolf wrote:the other one is now the escape theme when you're running to get off the island.
In that case, the current one fits much better. The escape theme is much too hectic from the last boss.
Hm, I'm in the volcano dungeon now, and killed three of the minibosses as well as that 10-headed dragon(sure looked scary ^^ at least you only get 3 flying heads, not 9 as I feared). Nice mini versions of the earlier dungeon, all playing on the special tricks needed in them.
I am, however, not managing to even hurt the fourth miniboss. He's the crab in the shadow version of the "third" dungeon. I shot him into the eye - both closed, both open - with arrows, swords, wand, I've tried to bomb him as well as the wall behind him with the crack, and he seems immune to everything.
Am I just getting my positioning for the arrows wrong(which would seem odd, as I've done these bosses before, and didn't have any trouble hitting them) or is there a trick that just escapes me? After the tenth death and a full "life potion" wasted on this, I'm at a loss xD
Woah, tenth death? You sir are one persevering player, I like that. 😊
Anyhoo, there's no trick to the boss other than you need some more powerful arrows to deal damage to the boss. I bet you didn't find the Holy Arrows from the Lv5 cave or otherwise you would have killed the miniboss already...
Miss, miss. Or lady. xD
But, eh, yes. I didn't find any arrows in the caves. Thanks, should have known I missed something. It just semeed proper - I had the key, I had the teleporter, and the switches. Didn't expect an item to actually be in the caves XD
Off to my next quest: New arrows.
Awesome quest! The only problem is the village music PISSES me off.
Anikom15 wrote:Awesome quest! The only problem is the village music PISSES me off.
I have to say, I don't think the village music was depressing enough. It sort of ruined the atmosphere of the village.
Nice last boss and ending ^^
Playtime 25, deaths 122(including 30ish save-deaths). Edit: Figured out how to save without dying. Oh am I stupid again.
BUT one thing...
Did you have to have Morly repeat his life story every time you go at him? XD Also very annoying that you got to beat the screen with the teleporter over and over again to refresh magic power. Come on :P Still, I beat him - with only half a heart left, and no potion used(all my pots were wasted on the damn crab). Thanks for refreshing the hearts afterwards ^^
Whole game was indeed almost like a commercial one, which shows quite the dedication on your part ^^ The only disturbing things were a few bugs here and there - and a few arbitrary sillyness things - like torches that you can reach normally, but cannot light with a candle. Or level 3 >___> But level 2 and 4 made up for that 😊
I also liked the music choice(except village) too, particularly Level 2 and 5.
Also: You mentioned that the medallion I found was for a "master dome". Was that the sword dungeon? Because I'm very certain I have not seen such a place, no dome anywhere to be seen :X
And finally a question, since I am apparently stupid:
There is a cave in the lava flows which has two stones that look like they can be bombed, although they cannot. Now that I have the burning boomerang, I managed to move them by accidentally shooting at a skull - and got the "magic boomerang" in the chest beyond. HOwever, I still have the flaming boomerang :O Is that intentional?
I can't figure out the "word" puzzle in level 3. Is that tile with 2 letters an "IV" or is it an "IU". There's a G,E,R,D and an A, but I can't figure out if the last tile is a IV or IU. I do need to spell some word, right?

Master Dome is the secret dungeon hidden somewhere at the Glathriel Canyon. It's the ultimate challenge for the very skillful players, I doubt you have been there yet. You wanna know its exact location?
And to your question the answer is: Yes, that is intentional. The flaming boomerang is a stronger one so (a LV3 boomerang so it cannot be replaced with a LV2 weaker one).

That should suffice, I'll just trek over there and check it out, maybe I find it on my own.
Thank you ^.^

Oh. Oops. So you were supposed to get that boomerang with the lv1 one. Oops.
Shows how little I know, my only contact to Zelda Classic basically is by Lost Isle ^^; Sorry for the dumb question there.
yeah, that second boomerang is really in an 'out' of the way place. In fact, all three boomerangs are like that
Wow, I have been wondering around the same 25 to 30 room in level 3 for what seem like forever. I know all these room by heart. Can someone please guide me to a key or two in level 3 and the map would be nice since you can't tell where you've been without it.
Thanx
FZ
Kay, I finished the game completely now, I think(well except a heart piece, oops). That dome was a nasty piece of work.
All in all: Those were surely entertaining 30 hours.
The only bad thing is that I shouldn't have played this game this early. I tried other games made by this "Zelda Classic" tool now, and they feel rather weak in comparison. Lost Isle didn't have much story, but even that little was way, way more interesting than anything I've seen in other ZC games. Those, in comparison, just seem to be randomly pieced together. Yeah, there's another level, but it's just a level. Not a castle from a fallen kingdom, an experimental flying fortress, or an ancient temple hosting an evil spirit. Despite everyone being dead, lost isle managed to feel "alive" the most. Quite the paradoxon.
Damn you for setting such a high standard. 😊 But a great, great job.
Edit: Fajz, did you try pushing the "ice cubes" over holes? Or don't you have that key yet? If you aren't in that part yet, did you get the chest close to the entrance? If not: From the entrance, up and left, follow the way.
There are also a few bombable walls that are rather well hidden >:O
I am that far, so I'll try moving ice blocks over holes. How about the map. It's a pain in the @$$ walking around and not knowing where you've been even though it still hard to tell where you've been with the map.

I don't really remember where it was >.< Level 3 was an awful, awfully evil place.
OK I moved the ice blocks over all the holes in the floor, only over the covered holes, over the uncovered holes, I even walked over the covered holes causing them to uncover then covered all the holes and nothing. Is there only certain holes to cover or a certain order? Do you have to cover the huge hole that covers top to bottom? Or worse yet is there more than 1 room with ice blocks and I'm wasting time in the wrong one? AHHHHHHH!!! I'm in the room that is just south east of the Edgar IV block room. Little help please and thanks.
FZ
nope, those ice blocks are just enough to get to the other side.
So DarkFlameWolf how about a little help with the location of a key or two?
from the start, there is a key just north, west and south to a block puzzle. That should get you one key.
Another key you want to head east as soon as you can, head south, head through a door to the west and follow that around to a switch that lowers some blocks going east. Go back over the blocks and bomb the south wall on the next screen. Follow that route east until you hit a maze, utilizing your boomerang you got from Mount Horgrus, navigate back to the upper left and go north. Go west and unlock the door north, there is a second key.
That should get you started. The location of the other keys is a bit fuzzy. But the map is close by as soon as you enter the third floor the first time.
I got the bow, I got the Arrows, and I got lost.
Where the heck are you supossed to GO! GAH!
Based on what I've played so far, pretty damn good!

Go west from the village. Go through the woods, and take the southern exit. You will arive in a swamp. Go to the bottom left of it to find level 1.
DarkFlameWolf, I have already used the 1st key on the door going east of where you want me to go south and bomb the wall, in which I have done and lowered the second set of blocks. My question is I don't have the boomerang. It was my understanding that I needed the ladder from level 3 to get the boomerang. Is this right or do I need to leave level 3 and find the boomer?
leave and find the boomerang. You'll need to navigate some caves and figure out where to use your candle to progress further up Horgrus to find that boomerang. Don't come back without it.
(and while you're at it, you can revisit level 2 and go to the southeast portion of the lightside garden and snag that heart piece with your new-found boomerang!)
OK I finally finished level 3. It was pretty cool and I have the Ladder finally. I have a fish (Food) and know I need it for the Windmill. Is it worth going all the way back to the windmill for it's item? What do you get in the windmill? I'd like to just keep going from Level 3 but if I need the item from the windmill I'll go back and get it. I'm hoping it's the Blue Tunic or a stronger sword than the White Sword I have. If it's one of these I'll go back for sure. One more thing, when do you get the Mirrored Shield? I'm so tired of loosing my shield to all these Like Likes it's sickening.
I forget but i do know it is not a shield.
