Speak for yourself. That thing makes Death Knights look like butterflies. But then again, death knights aren't that hard once you get the hang of things.

I seem to recall spending many a good life on that mini-boss. I'm still of the opinion that the monstrous gibdos in the catacombs are the worst;fairly easy to avoid, but instant death of they hit you!

Love them or hate them, the Deathbos (those deadly Gibdos) are so awesome, mwahaha. 😉 They're my favorite enemies because they put fear in players, at least in some players.

Did somebosy say deathbo!? 😱:shakeno::scared: Those things can be scary when you first encounter them. One hit death. Although once you get the level three sword, the silver arrows, and the red armor, they just become overclocked gibdos.

Hmm... well... ture, but you still want to keep at least a small distance to them... :P

In the Ordera Hideout, I was walking through coridors with one deathbo on either side of me, and hoping and praying that they didn't turn to the right or left.

Okay, I'm having a brain fart here and am trying to remember which weapon you use to defeat the boss (in Level 5) who moves side-to-side, shoots three fireballs at a time, and opens and closes it's eyes. I thought it was the arrow, but I hit it about 6-8 times and it didn't seem to do anything. Does it just take more hits than that? 😕

Yay, your post was the 666th post of this thread! Cool, huh? 😉

Anyhoo, you need the HOLY Ice Arrows from the Level 5 cave to damage that boss you're talking about. You haven't found them yet?

No I haven't found the new arrows yet; I assumed they were somewhere inside level 5. I didn't see them anywhere in the cave that leads there, although I didn't search around all too much. Are they hidden in there?

EDIT: Never mind, I just found them. I somehow missed that branch of the cave entirely!

EDIT: Woohoo! Got the dragonscale armor! On to Level 5 (again)!

Dang it, where is that? And the third sword (don't tell me it's in the Master Dome -- an area I coincidentally cannot find 😉)?

I've entered Level 5 finally, but I can't seem to get far without dying thanks to the 3 hearts rule, numerous cracks in the floor, and the tough enemies.

Lord, and there's a better shield? Where do you guys find the space to hide all this? 😛

dragonscale armor: Oderra hideout in Chovian Fields
dragonscale shield: in the cultist cave beneah Tahou Woods
death sword: Oderra catacombs underneath the graveyard.

Or for more in depth:
Shield of Ages: Go into the cave between the northern beach and the Tahou woods and be prepared to use the wand fire upgrade creativly.

Death Sword: Get all six triforce pieces, and then enter the Ordera Catacombs, one of the creepiest levels you will ever find in ZC.

Dragonscale Armor: After getting the Holy Arrows (in either the crater of Mt. Horgus or the Master Dome), go into the fields and find a big pig shaped rock with a tiki statue and a skeleton pirate near by. Shoot the statue to make the rocks dissapear, and then go into the Ordera hidout.

Wait, a minute. If that's the hideout, and it is still blocked by a rock the villagers put up, how is it everyone inside was turned into a deathbo?

Umm, what? Uh... Woooolfie? 😉
Does it really matter how the people there were turned into Deathbos? Or maybe the Deathbos got there someway... Everything doesn't need an explanation, it's good to leave something for the players to speculate, and I guess there's quite a bit of that kind of stuff in LI what is up to the player to decide...

Quite a bit? 70% of the stuff is unexplained. A little speculation is good. But I think you might have left a little too much to be specualted.

I know I know, but that's how Wolfie wanted it, and honestly, I don't have a problem with it at all. I can see though if you or any other player might consider it as a problem, but surely it isn't a big problem, is it? 😊 As a questmaker I love to read speculation of Lost Isle, it keeps me entertained.

Sorry, but I can be really picky when it comes to storylines. I really have to be less critical about them.

Nah, no need to be less critical, I'm just saying that it was all planned how open LI's storyline is, it's a conscious choice, not a mistake. But you probably knew that all along, and if not, then at least you know now. 😉

Yeah, I'll back you up on this one. 😉

With the Death Sword and Shield of Ages, I headed back to Level 5.... and still died. Jeez, maybe I should locate the Master Dome, complete its insanity (or so I've heard :evil😊 to get the Holy Arrows, and get the Dragonscale Armor.

The Holy Arrows can also be found in the Horgus Crater. You'll find them soon enough. It's easier than trying the Master Dome.

Master Dome is only for the sic... er, I mean for the skillful people. 😃 Are you ready for that challenge yet?
If you don't have the Dragonscale armor, then you should definitely get it if you have problems in Lv5. Just head to that pig head rock southeast of Oderra village and find the Oderra Hideout.....

Explanation:
Just how often was that Oderra hideout used? Probably not much before the catastrophe. So since the underworld gets infected with the menace before the overworld does, it makes sense that things have been brooding there for quite some time before the Oderrans decided to resort to it for protection only to find it already corrupted. Sucks to be them.

Ah. You're pretty good at comng up with solutions like that.

Well, well, well. You really know how to tear the enjoyment of completing a quest with the saddening images in the credits, then try to return it with the special power-up at the end.

Seventy deaths, competion time of 28:55:07, and 15 hearts (and no additional Pieces of Heart, so I guess that means I missed four). Thanks guys for this amazing quest.

russadwan wrote:No, because typical ZC endings aren't filled with death and despair.

Indeed. Lost Isle is different and I am proud of it. 😉

BTW, 200 deaths isn't bad at all. If I had to predict the overall amount of deaths and overall time played based on people's comments, I'd say the average person beats LI in just under 30 hours and dies about 150 times.

Okay, some people have finished this quest in under 10 hours and managed to get 0 deaths but not on their first try. 😉

well, if you think about it, its kinda a bittersweet ending. Sure the island had to blow up, but the lingering spirits who were trapped there by Morlach are now free.
