Man, Hyrule Castle is extremely difficult! I keep getting grabbed by those stupid tornado poes. Must... keep... trying... Can't wait to get the sword though! Is it possible to get the red tunic before Hyrule Castle, and where is the guy that tells you all the locations for the tunic giveaway?
Hero of Dreams
Actually... you could've gotten the red tunic the second you got your flippers (ok, a few minutes after that). Somewhere in northwestern hyrule field, there's a house with the label "SUIT" on it - head in there, get the message from the guy, and then complete the task. So you just go to each of the three locations and then head back and you get the red suit. One more thing - make sure you go through the windmill/Lon Lon Ranch to get Nayru's Love... and along with that, make sure you get all magic ups and 1/2 magic. It's VITALLY IMPORTANT.
Just finished Hyrule Castle. I suspected Donmore was evil but decided otherwise when I found out the grandpa was evil. Should've known they could both be baddies! *doh* Can't wait to finish the game. It's so fun slaughtering darknuts with my master sword by spinning around and slicing simultaneously!
Glad you are enjoying the game so much. You are almost to the end, hope you like it. :P
Just finished the game. Right now I'm trying to go through side stuff I missed, and I was wondering about the Donfeo Cave. Is it possible to get across the lava/through the closed door? If so, how? I keep wandering around that area and can't figure it out...
If you look on the top, you will see that you can bomb the wall. So go to the other screen to the left and bomb that wall to get through. Help that helps.
I'm in level 5, and I'm 100% lost! I've used all the keys I've found up to this point (I think I've found 2 or 3, or possbily 4, but I don't remember where I got them) in the forest part of the dungeon, but I'm clueless as where to go next. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. 😊
Not sure where or what you need the help. There are 2 keys on each of the three floors. You can get them all without any of the level items. If you remember which keys you have, you will know which floor they are on. So which ones do you need help on?
Okay, I just got the Master sword in the Citadel, and now I guess I'm going to find the boss. I can'tfigure out the block puzzle in the bottom right corner of the first floor though (where there are 4 darknuts, 4 things shooting fireballs and four eye-blocks that move). I've tried a number of configurations, but nothing works. Help?
You push the eye statues to the very top of the room. There are four spaces to where to place them. Help that helps.
2 keys per floor? That alone is great help! 😊 I'll just search each floor a little better, then. Thanks! 😃

Again, thanks Shoelace.
Alright, two more questions on Hyrule castle; I seem to be missing the two keys needed to open up the passageway to, presumably, the Master Key. I haven't figured out how to hit the wizards that throw the tornados, but I'm guessing getting the keys has something to do with killing all of them? Also, do we ever get to leave the castle through the entrance that is one screen below where the level starts? Am I missing something about how to get out there so I can get to the store in the citadel?
Wait, why are you trying to kill the windrobes? I'm assuming you're on that part with the windrobes shooting tornadoes at you while you're trying to navigate an invisible maze while throwing your fire boomerang at the switches to see that path. You don't need to kill anything there - just get through the maze to the other side.
Now... if it's a later part where you need to kill windrobes, they're the same as red wizzrobes - slash 'em if they appear near you. Another helpful hint: If they appear two tiles away but you can't quite get to them, try laying a bomb a tile in front of you so the explosion radius takes 4 hearts off the windrobe. However, don't try anything too risky against windrobes, because, as we all know all too well, they are retartedly evil.
As for getting into the actually citadel itself, it's unfortunate that you can't. I'm going to guess that when Shoelace gets to making the 2.11 version that he'll include a global script that lets you get in later in the game or do something that lets you in - possibly getting more than 24 heart containers, depending on his subscreen setup. O_o Twould be cool.

So, if killing the Windrobes isn't the way to get the two keys you need to open up access to the next part, then where are the keys hiding? I'm talking about both the section with the invisible maze and the other side of the castle with the spikes and hookshot puzzle, both where you're inundated with Windrobes. Are the keys somewhere on the second level, or did I miss a couple on the first level? Does that make any sense at all?
Killing the Windrobes won't get you any keys. But basically there are 4 keys in Hyrule Castle. I am not sure which ones you have. So Basically on the left side of the castle (The path of the spikes) are 2 keys. One is on the first floor on the very top left hand corner. You will need to you use the mirrors and wand while running away from the spikes to get one key. The other is on the second floor. Hit the fire boomerang on the curtain on the dark room and it will lead to the key. On the right side of the level, there is a key on the top right hand side of the level. You have swim under the floor to get that one. The other is on the second floor, you will need to use the fire boommerang on the curtain on the dark room and it will lead to the 4th key.
I kept trying to kill the Windrobes but it felt like they had unlimited HP and I gave up on them. :-P
Unlimited hp? They have 16 hearts (16 wood sword hits) - should take four magic sword hits. Not too many, is it? Granted, they're extremely annoying. But if you're trying to kill the ones in the invisible maze, don't - you don't get anything from them.
Okay, I have been stuck in cerbet shrine for a month and have finally broken down and posted here. I am having trouble finding a certain key. The door is two rooms above the room with puzle where you push the lamps and use to hookshot from switch to switch; on the easternmost side of the level. A list of keys in the level would also be nice.
So you are looking for the last of one of the two keys. You can get them in any order so:
For both go to the lowerright most flip room and make the brown switches go down. Return to the entrance. (1) If you shoot the statues, then the door with open north. Follow that path and it will lead to the lower left hand most part of the level for the key. (2) From the entrance with the brown switches down, go right once and go into the warp. The brown switches are now down, so head down, to claim the key.
Okay, I have made it through level 4. Can't figure out why everyone thinks King Dodango is so hard; I beat him first try and never saw his fire stream attack. Anyways, I can't seem to be able to locate level 5. Where is it?
King Dodongo is easy if you move around about bomb him. But yeah. :P
Anyways, go to Donmore, and he explains where to go next: The Graveyard. You will play the Ocarina near the opening and it will open. That will get you to the 5th level.
Okay, now I am stuck. I am on one of the spirit mini-bosses. It is the one with an A on it on the second basement floor and has ghost chickens attacking you. How do you beat it?
Edit: Never mind, I figured it out.
Edit: In the third basement of level five where you change the water level, how do you get past the part where the invincible bugs/patra eye things shoot fireballs at you?
I see that you edited your post with a question:
You have to shoot the invisible bugs in the same order that you did when you first entered the room. Then the path will open.

It was easy to figure out, it's just a lot of the time on his last hit points King Dodongo wouldn't react to the bombs I was throwing in his mouth. I think it was partially due to the small amounts of teleportation that occurred when he opened his mouth... Either way it took me several times to have him eat the bomb. :googly:
Okay, I seem to be having more trouble with keys. I need the one that opens the door where you shoot thew wand at the blue candle to make a bridge. Also, what is with the snake head on the floor with the lava. I tried everything on switch, but nothing happens. Please help.
Edit: I found the staircase down that you get to by using the wand on the candles on the floor with the lava, but I can't figure out how to reach the big tyreasure chest. How do you?
For the snake head, shoot the snake head with an arrow. Then you will have to reflect the magic to the switch. That will get you that key.
For the Big Chest, you will have to shoot the blue candle across the gap in the upper middle part of the fire floor. (one screen to the right of the fire floor). However, you cannot get it, unless you beat the Spirit of Knowledge (The one on the water floor).
I've been playing this quest, and it's been pretty fun so far. I just entered the Blazing Inferno, and yeah, the gameplay is really quite solid. That Manhandla in Frodo's Hide was evil seeing as I was out of bombs; I had to resort to pure doorway fighting to win... However, I'm wondering. Was I supposed to have the Letter by now? I've found a few potion shops, and an NPC told me to stock up on potions, but I don't have the Letter so this is impossible. I notice a very clear and fairly steep difficulty curve here so I'm worried about missing this, and it's not like I don't have plenty of money with which to buy many potions.
Also, I really do hate to criticize since everything else is very good so I guess I'll put it into the form of a question. Does the writing get substanitively better? I mean, the spelling isn't so bad as the grammar (using "of" in place of "have", etc.), and I cringe when the subscreen tells me that Link has peed his pants... Perhaps it stands out so much because the rest of the quest is good, but it has been bothering me quite a bit.
I think the letter (which in here is a ) is in the moblin woods. I heard from a friend but have not verified. But potions aren't to necesarry. I am on level 6 and have not bought any portions and am satill using the white sword (partially because I can't figure out how to get the magical sword). And I agree, the manhadla was evil. I beat him by hiding in the door and slashing too.
Hope that hewlps (Please excuse my bad spelling.😊 )
The Mushroom is right of the potion shop of Treetop village.
And, true story: I basically could not read when I got out of High School. So, my writing was improving as I went through the game. But yeah, it was still bad. Sorry about the bad spelling and grammar. I already got 10 beta testers for that reason. To look for the grammar errors. They found so many, and there were still a lot in the final cut.
