Lookin' crunk, Tobias. O;
Post screenshots of your quests here. [1.0]
Do'h. The Quest's file name was on there, eh? Oh well.
Haha. Why would that be a problem?
He must not reveal the secrets of the CRUNK.

Or so they will tell you... Nah, it's not really a first quest remake. It is a 'third quest'. I doubt I'll finish it, and it was a way to get familiar with newest DoR more than anything.
Looks good. My only problem is those small Minish Cap trees. The 3x2 ones. You used them way too much. Try using some other trees.

It's not, I just didn't think about it.

Yeah, but there are two reasons they are spam'd in in there. One, I like the colors, and two, I don't care for the DoR versions of the GB trees 😃
With just about any early side project, no tiles have been ripped or modified. All that you see is out of the box, and un-altered. If this project really picks up (more so after ZTD) maybe I'll change it up, or add the old GB trees.
And now, for some completely random Zelda TD w.i.p. shots:

Images 1-3:
An optional cave area. This is not the final layout, palette, or level of detail. I need to modify some mountains, and make a nice, muted c-set for the water. This area will use the "Wispewind Cave" them from Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls. I also need some ground details other than rocks.
Image 4:
'Coppery' palette for Level 4. Subject to change, but I like it. I'm taking the classic set to a darker, and more natural looking set of colors. The bright pastels are nice in moderation, but man, after looking at some colors, it was very intense.
Image 5:
Purple palette for the Midnight Maze (Level 6). I may make it a bit darker, but I still like it.
Image 6:
Early Level 7 palette. It was hard to get those sandy golds and yellows. Subject to change, but unlikely.
Image 7:
Oops. I seem to have miscounted. There is no seventh image.
Okay, what's with the girl?

It is from a super secret area where you can get the level one password. The area is a fan club of sorts. You will meet an interesting Moblin there.
EDIT: Old becomes new again 😮
Wow, awesome redo!
that looks....insanely similar to what I did with those mountains in Origin.....hmmmmm
Sorry, it is purely coincidence. You can only make the same thing look so many ways without deviating too much. If you don't believe me, I can send you the .qst file :\
I think this area could use some work though. There are some cases in the original where things are a little too bare, even for being an open NES game. This area probably won't change much since it was a bit of work to get it this far, but I dunno. It isn't quite up to my expectations.
EDIT:

Desert area. The large palm tree in the lower left is now blue.

What's with the neon red in the top right? It doesn't seem to blend at all.
I like colors. All that yellow and brown get's boring to look at.
Yeah, but the bright red tree is saying to me, "LOOK AT ME NOW! I'M A BIG NEON RED PALM TREE!!!!"
Other than that, I'm liking it. 😉

Replaced jagged water tiles with DoR versions of AlttP water by suggestion of mighty_darknut. I think it looks better too. I was worried about it clashing at first, but the simple look fits right in.
Sorry for the dithering on the shots. It comes from the .gif saving. I forgot to switch Irfanveiw to .jpg before saving 😞
wow, you put the oasis in the exact screen I did. LOL Not sure if this is coincidence or you are taking some cues, in which case I'm probably going to be flattered

Well, at least the dungeons will be entirely different. This is a third quest. And I know it has to be hard to believe but I've only seen the beginning of Origins 😃
EDIT: Here is something to consider with the oasis'. I'm going to guess you started with the upper-left most screen too? Tell me if you had a similar train of though: Okay, there was one screen done, but how can I make this second desert screen different? Oh, I know, I'll add an oasis. Those always seem cool in deserts and whatnot. Third screen, oh well, why not make it another desert screen, they'll never see THAT one coming.
Wow, just, wow. That LttP water fits in better than I thought it would. Nice.
I had been promising some more ZQDX shots... weil...
Top left is an old image but it interlocks with the others here. Also, stray grass tile between the bottom shots ftw

Foot of death mountain got a drastic change.

aaand some more.

Near the end of Level 4. This is a 'tower' dungeon, so, naturally, this is near the top.
Tobias!!! That looks awesome!! Oh man... I gotta play the quest when it comes out now, to see what it's like getting up to that point.
Not bad. However, are those long block segments supposed to be columns? If they are, it really makes them look flat, as you really won't see them from that perspective. It also seems that the stairway suffers from the same problem; "stacking" the blocks should solve that problem as well. Oh, and the transition from the walls to the sky could use a dark blue instead of black - Unless you are already using all the level colors, however.

If you're talking about the ones below the bridge, then yes. Above, no, they are just there, and I'm not entirely happy that part of the screen. It is supposed to be something like an island suspended above the room. Kind of like climbing up onto a crystal. I may end up doing some custom stuff for it, but I dunno. I will probably make a tile for the "edge" of the bridge; see my lava/ water for examples. As for the black borders, yeah, I already tried. I would have to recolor, and re combo the tiles used for that effect. I might do it though, as it will look better, and it is only two tiles.
Yeah... the perspective of that screen is way off... Don't let Revfan see it. 😉
Otherwise, I really like where you're going with that screen. Some perspective/graphical improvements could bedazzle the player.

Ok. I went ahead and used a transparent color, and layers. I think it looks a little better, but it seems a bit odd. Kind of like the walls disappear into a floating oblivion. Oh well. Also, awkward columns removed. I didn't realize how off they looked until I really looked at the screen.
EDIT:
Okay, last revision. I think this helps significantly with the perspective.

That's about as good as you can get with classic. Nice work.

New Level 4 .
I think it looks better than the stacked dungeon entrance tiles.
You... really changed things. It's beautiful. All the colors look good to me. I almost wasn't even sure that was LoZ

The Tower tiles are actually from Joe123's Colored FFA set.
I have been working on this quest despite the lack of screens or other content. I've been doing a lot of organizing and planning.
