For whatever reason I'm having trouble registering for a Zelda Classic e-mail address so I CAN rate the quest and comment on it. If I could, it would be five stars/hearts and a positive review, for what it's worth.

russadwan wrote:Wow. Quite an interesting history. Just out of curiostiy, what made you choose the Pure tileset, rather the the Pure tileset update or Pure tileset update extreme?

I never saw them. 😃

russadwan wrote:Reletivly good reception!? People loved it! And judging from the size of the help thread for it, people frequintly got stuck on it.

It's rated a 3.17 in 12 votes. (I think, however, it has been plagued by people who haven't played it and just rated it a zero because it uses LoZ graphics). And this 2 week old thread is about to surpass EoT's 2 year old one. 😉

(By the way. I started LttH well before I submitted EoT. That's why it says EoT was submitted on the first of December of 2005.)

russadwan wrote:And by the way, what are you adding to the final boss? And you should make the map for the boss dmap black. It looks kind of funny to see the little dot representing Link zoom across the minimap every time you hurt him.

I don't know, really. And in order to negate the "zooming across the minimap" effect, I'd have to make it yellow. 😉

Try doing it at the domain "www.armageddongames.net/zeldaclassic" instead of "www.zeldaclassic.com". I've had that problem, too.

Greetings,

I've been enjoying Link to the Heavens. I just have this little problem. If I walk over the container hearts, I pick them up, but my total number of hearts never increases beyond 3. Is this a bug, or have I done something wrong?

Thanks!

you need 4 heartpieces before you get one full heart in return 😉
Press enter and you see in the inventory box how many heartpieces you have 😊

In level 9 the room before the reflective mirrors I see what i have to do to freeze the two heads but the blocks come up to fast other wise you can't go through the next room losing all your items

No, no, you don't have to freeze those Bubbles. As a matter of fact, you can't, so you have to go through the next few rooms without items. Do you like my skills at cheat-proofing the quest? 😊

Death count is a bit trickier for me since my self-conscious self is a firm believer in the "when in doubt, select 'Retry'" policy...

patrickab7 wrote:Death count is a bit trickier for me since my self-conscious self is a firm believer in the "when in doubt, select 'Retry'" policy...

I am the complete opposite. I am so lazy, I will put F1 on, run around a die a bunch of times, not accomplish anything, and then just save the game because I found five ruppies. Death Count doesn't really mean anything to me. Although my friend found out that if it gets over 999, it resets to 0. I wonder how he found out. 🙄

death count and time also is never an issue for me , the most important is to have fun playing a game 😉

Guess I'll get the feedback questions...

a) How difficult/easy was the Zora Training Ground?

Got through just fine, personally...the life refilling spots helped a lot.

b) What happened when you met the phantom in Level A?

I was wondering if it was invisible red bubbles that were screwing with me. 😃

c) How obvious was it that you needed the Cross to get past that cave in Sparsi Desert?

Fairly obvious.

d) How easy/tricky was it to get through the maze path in the Desert (as in how easy was it to tell that the push blocks in the cave translated to maze path directions)?

Took a sec to figure out but otherwise not too difficult. But then I've played some pretty complex quests...

10 hours 150 deaths(yes I know I suck. The guys you can't hit from the front get me ALL THE TIME)...stuck in level 4 area with two things...

Level 4. Room required 3 keys..one to get in..a block had to be opened and then a third key on the door, I think i saw the chest for the key in the lower left corner one of the water rooms, but thus far can not make heads or tails of how I'm supposed to GET to it.

There's a cave maybe 3 screens to the left of the level 4 entrance. Is there some sort of pattern to the fireballs? I think I've made it through once out of the 30 some tries.

I'm impressed that you've stuck to this quest so far. I commend you on that. 😉

That chest is a little bit of a red herring. You need the flippers to get it, but you don't ever need the item (Rupees) inside of it.

So about the room with the 3 keys required (one to enter, one on the block, and one to exit)... You may be missing the key 2 to the west of this room. You access this room by bombing a wall. You may be missing the key directly south of the '3 key' room. You also may be missing the key in the room with the boss door.

Nope, no pattern at all. The Blue Tunic is in that cave, and if you haven't gotten it now, I suggest that you do. 😉

Masochistic. I'm sure i'm going to hit a brick wall with my lack of skill sometime. Part of it is I'm not good with keyboard gaming.

I know I got the room to the west. I have to check the other two. My biggest problem is I keep dying and then trying to remember where I was too..
Added: Boss Door Room. I saw the tile before, but i think I died and forgot to get back there...

....you try to make me cry. I've seen the two crabs at the end of this cave. Approximately 40 of my deaths are due to the level 1 crab... ...oh wells more medicine....

Added: stupid fireballs. Rawr. ^^

Those fireballs are actually created by trapped Stalfos 3s. That's the reason why they have no pattern at all.

Hey community, I know I said I'd have the LttH update done today, but I'll have to delay it to tomorrow or the day after (due to holiday activities). I haven't even begun to edit the final boss.

That's a really neat idea...wow.

Zora training ground = Evil. Might have made it though if i had two medicines instead of just the 1(1/2 bottle) as I got all the way to the left bottom corner before dying.

Ya, it can be tough if you're not really good at ZC. Just make sure to take full advantage of the healing panels in each corner.

Have him shrink Link and eat him! Then have a huge part of the battle inside him, like in sort of like in the Minish Cap. I hardly call that digdogger thing inside him a real battle.

Yeah... that's okay. I want to do the least amount of work possible. 😉

I need the player to use more items than just the Gold Arrow, sword, and bombs. What to do, what to do... Since I'm stuck in Lost Isle, I'm going to go work on that now.

...Died..a few more times lost the shield again...the key is at the end isn't it? (AKA I HAVE to do it..) >.> Try again tomorrow I guess.

You managed to get the Blue Tunic, right? :sly:

If you simply cannot complete the Zora's Training Ground, tell me. I'll be able to help you.

Also, russadwan, check out the warping screen of the Narajo Forest (00:4A) in ZQuest and take a look at the flags and tile warp. Betcha never knew that was there, huh? That exists just in case I screwed up somewhere with keys.

The least amount of work possible? Do you relize I am putting more work into the final boss of the remake of your first quest than you are putting into the final boss of your second quest?

Here is an idea for him. Have a large part of the battle inside him and make the player attack his heart. That would be pretty neat.

It pains me to admit defeat like this, but having lost my shield a fifth time.....

And yep I got the blue tunic.....I got lucky with the fireballs. I also got the second sword, 16 bomb bag and I have 9 and 3/4ths hearts.

Hey, I didn't know about that. That's kind of funny. "Welcome to the 'sorry I screwed up here is one key so you can continue' room"
Ajh wrote:It pains me to admit defeat like this, but having lost my shield a fifth time.....

That sounds like me. I hate those dang like likes. I can never own a shield for more then two minutes without one of them eating it. And you know what is even worse? In 2.5, there is a bg that lets them eat small shields too! So most of the time I don't even have a small shield to block stuff like rocks!

Actually I'm pretty good at avoiding them...i only lost my shield once in level 3.... The tiny rooms with no cover and guys I can't hit from the front that knock me into them though..

Everything I currently have...(Been wandering around but i do not think that there is currently another heart piece I can get..)

Looking good, Ajh. At this rate, I'll bet that you'll have over 25 hours of play. This was to be expected, though. 😉

Yeah, I already tried having a heart to slash in the end boss, but the only heart I (Dan Furst) could find wouldn't carry over into ZC too well. Plus, I already have an idea (which will make you recall what items trigger certain kinds of switches very quickly).

I unexpectedly have a little family reunion Wednesday through Friday. I'm sorry guys, but this update will have to be put on hold again. Darn holiday season.

You mean if i ever get through the zora thingy. I killed myself at the door saved and started trying a few more times..I get to the room in the lower left with the blue knights and thats it.

zeldafan: The magic boomerang is in level 4. Are you there yet?

Pineconn, I think your quest broke AGN's bandwidth!

Thanks for your help i supposed that magic boomerang is in there, i look there again.
And yes i am in there in lvl4
