Lol, I found it right before you posted. I just came back to tell you that. Level 2 all over again.

Okay, now I'm on the battle with the last boss. What am I supposed to do to him when he's got that magic shield? Nothing works.

Nevermind, I beat him! Nice ending. I can't wait for your next quest.

Alright! Congrats on beating the game! I am glad that you liked the game. Hopefully my next game will be released in Mid-2007, but it seems more likely the end of 2007. But you never know. Anyways, thanks for playing.

And also, do you mind editing the final bosses name, I like everyone to have that as a surprise. Thanks.

Need some help in the level 8 boss fight. At one stage i think i shall toggle two switches with wand. The right switch is blocked by that grey block. How do one remove it.

Thx in advance

Bombis

It looks like beat the part of the fire boomerang with the candle which some have trouble with. Are you in the room with the bat wizzrobe and I think mirror wizzrobe(I haven't touched this part of the game in so long). Anyways, you have to push the mirrors and the blocks so that you can be able to reflect the magic to the switches. I hope that helps. You are almost done with the boss!

Hero of Dreams was the first custom quest I downloaded... And it is certainly the hardest Zelda game I've ever played! There were a lot of great puzzles and challenges in this game, and it had a good story too.

But now I really need some help of some sort. . Hrm. Not sure if this would be considered a spoiler of sorts or not. In any case, is there some trick to beating the Commander? Nearly 100 hammer strikes to get past the first stage, 7ish blue sword enemy waves, 18 red enemy waves, 7 more blue sword enemy waves, 26 times through that spikey forest, 11 times in that spikey fire Boomerang room... And I was up to the arrow/boomerang/wand water room. I could only do it 10 times before I just messed up too much and died.

Is there a trick of some sorts to this final battle? It seems way too repetitive. I don't have Nayru's love, but I don't know if it works on spikes or pits so I'm not sure how effective it would be... Getting up to the point I did took half an hour. If nothing else I'll need to rest before trying that again!

I suggest getting Nayru's Love first. It would be worth it, it has to do with the cucco book trading in Hyrule Field, Windmill, and Lona Lona Ranch.

Anyways, yeah, you aren't fighting The Commander right. It should take 9-12 hits to beat him.

What he does is he puts the sword up to get his power. You have to hit him with the hammer quickly and then run to dodge the sword. It gives you a lot of time at first to hit him quickly, but the time gets littler and littler as you go on with him. You will know if you hit him because he will move on to the next stage.

first stage is the wind, second is the enemies, third is the fire, etc. You only have to hit him with the hammer once to move on. If you don't hit him, it will repeat the same stage, which looks to be happening to you. I think you will beat it if you get the hang of it.

Tell me if you get what I said, if not, I will look into it and give you a better description.

Okay, the Commander is history. Thanks for the help, Shoelace. For some reason hitting him multiple times with the hammer screwed up the way the battle worked. Well, time to get that heart container and see the end of the story! Great quest!

This may be a totally obvious question, but in the level 2, the moblin place, on the first basement level, how do you OPEN THE STUPID GIANT CHEST. I've tried walking up to it, slashing it, approaching it with a key, killing all the Keese in the room first, hitting it with every itme I have. HOW DOES IT OPEN?

I've reframed from asking for help but I think I have a game ending bug. I'm at the third temple and I got the ladder and know where to go but the problem is, is that I can't use the ladder. No where can I use it, not the room south of the ladder not the path to get the Big Key, and not anywhere in the overworld. I'm using the newest beta of 2.5 because I couldn't find a working 2.10. Everywhere either the links were down or files corrupted. So is this just a beta bug?

EDIT: Ahh ok so it is a beta bug. Then can someone give me a working link to a working 2.10? The forum one doesn't work, the ZeldaClassic.com download is down. And all the mirrors I can find are corrupted.

EDIT #2: Ok I finally got a working 2.10 and now I'm off to start the game over.

That sucks.... I am sorry you had to play the game over. But yeah, play in 2.10 as I tested only in 2.10 so I know that it would work. However, I am not so sure about 2.10.1 or 2.10.2 as those are new and I haven't tested those with HoD, so yeah. Anyways, good luck.

I wanted to try in 2.10.1 or 2.10.2 but when I try to open that version of classic it always closes when right when it's about to open. Anyone know how to fix this?

You probably need a better graphics card. I have found that the onboard 64 bit just not doing the job any more.

I'm really stuck in level 4 and wondering if I used the first key wrong. Was I supposed to unlock the stone circle with the "warp plate" in the first room east?

If not, could someone point me in the direction of the second key?

EDIT: Never mind, found it.

Wow ok I love this game so far. But I have a few minor problems (nothing from keeping it being a like a 4.8/5. So on PureZC and stuff it will be a 5/5. Mainly a thing that bugs me that almost every quest has. Simple edits that could be done on tiles that need to be altered in just the simplest way and are not. This is something that I'm am trying my hardest to avoid on my quest. Another thing is sometimes improper undercombos used. Or just not bothered to use multiple undercombos.

I know some people like this too but its something I don't, the humor such as Link saying he was pregnant in his former dream. It just didn't appeal to me. And although I'm only up to the 4th dungeon boss I absolutally adore the dungeons...except for the 4th. This dungeon seemed simple but has given me more of a headache and wasn't as cool as the other dungeons. And the boss...I am having a hard time continuing after playing for 5 hours straight because of his royal pain in the ass dodongo. Any tips for beating him? I'm stuck on when I hit him with my 3rd bomb and instead of rolling he spits out fire that I can't seem to avoid.

Anyway I am super impressed with this quest and it's is one of my favorites. I need to update my sig because I've beaten a lot more quests and so far this one is my second favorite. By the end it might just pass Link to Tortuga. So overview so far is a 4.8. Thanks for the awesome quest!

EDIT: OMG finally I beat the King. So no need for help right now.

What's wrong with Level 4? (That's the sand temple, right? It's been a while. Water, forest, fire, sand. Yeah.)

Anyway, what's wrong with it? I felt it was well done and maybe even one of the best dungeons in the game (except for the seventh, of course). I find that the more complex the dungeon, the better it is on my list. The remaining dungeons uphold the grounds laid by the first few, so you won't be disappointed. Oh, and they don't get any easier. 😉

Oh, and lol, it's your second or most favorite out of 4 quests. 😛

I'm not rally sure, it's just that it seemed really kinda boring and annoying with all of those switching blocker things. I just didn't have any fun with it. Oh and so far I love the 5th level. And as I said in my post I have completed a lot more. Such as the first two Castle Haunt quests, WolfStlye DX, and more than half way through End of Time and Isle of the Winds.

I'm off to go update my sig finally. And I love End of Time so far. And the next time when you get on aim I have a playable beta boss of that thing I showed you beofre.

I have to agree on level 4 - it is annoying. But at least tis still really cool concept. And you think the boss is hard? Wait till one or t- I take that back. The later 3 bosses - THOSE are hard. Though I tend to "cheat" via bombs on a few of them, hehehe...
Yeah, level 4 always messes me up on a speedrun. I can go through levels 1-3 just fine (except for getting the white sword), but when I reach level 4... I'm always missing a key. If I just manage to remember how to get through it all so easily... then I really could pull off getting TO level 7 with red mail, 21 hearts, 16-20 bombs, almost all magic, and Nayru's Love... in 4 hours. So far, my record is 4:32. Bleh...

Warning to ye, Plissken... and anyone else playing this game: Beware of level 8 more than anything else.

... and does anyone else here uhh... no offense Shoelace, but the choice of overworld midi just doesn't appeal to me. Tis why I typically turbo my way through as fast as possible.

That's the other thing that I didn't like. The choice of midis. I'd just rather have normal zelda music than all of these midis of Areosmith and stuff. But WindStrike I think something was going wrong with the 4th boss for me. I mean when I beat him I only had to hit him with 3 bombs. And every other time before that I had done that and it looked like he was going to die but then didn't and killed me with the fire. I'm not sure if I hit him right every time but it seemed kinda wierd.

Also I now have my comp hooked up to my TV with a SNES controller working with 2.10 and now the rest of the game is going to be so awesome with that.

But you know what that is the great thing about ZC, you can put your own Midis in. Most of the comments say that the Level 1 music and the Hyrule Field music are great. And I love them too. But you know, I can't please everyone. But yeah again, I do get comments that say Midis are awesome choices, others not. So, sorry if you didn't like them.😞

I don't know what simple edits you were talking about, but yeah, I am not the greatest at custom tiles if you noticed. lol. This game was a learning process for me as it was the game I started to learn ZC with. About the undercombos, I did my best to get every undercombo placed correctly. Testers made sure of that. However, there were a lot of screens that I couldn't put the right undercombo. Because of the fact that to have multiple undercombos, you have to use secret combos. You have to. And if I was already using secret combos in that screen, I could not use multiple undercombos anymore. Thus, a lot of screens didn't have multiple undercombos because there was secret combos already being used. It is a limitation that couldn't be fixed. Though 2.11 have the combo next-> slash which I suggested, so now, I don't have to use secret combos for the undercombos anymore. :P

I understand what you mean. Many would disagree but yeah, I can't please them all. I wish. lol. But yeah, every level has its theme, and the theme of that was basically a huge puzzle of switching blocks. About the boss, I think I know what was happening. It is another limitation of ZC that I couldn't fix. You weren't triggering the triggers on your feet. For some reason if you stand still, ZC didn't put up you triggering the trigger also, the tile warp that it would trigger to. Side warps were being used for timed warps (And sadly since there were no direct timed warps I had to warp you on the fire). So tile warps you had to step on to progress. If you weren't moving, you wouldn't warp. That was most likely the problem. I am so glad 2.5 is fixing a lot of these issues so my custom bosses would be a lot smoother. :P

Also you will noticed the change from the beginning levels to the later levels. Because again, this was my first game, and I was learning ZC when making this. So the later levels have better edits, better custom bosses, etc. However, it does get hard. I am sorry about that, and that is why I am making an easier version as I am stupid for making it that hard. It is still 100% possible to beat, but you will die.

So far, my record is 4:32.

Holy cow. That is faster than I could ever get there. O_O

I didn't forget about you Kompis. I made sure that in my game, you cannot get stuck and have to restart your game. So no you did not use the wrong key in the wrong place. That locked key in the warp by the way, is a big key lock. Anyways, the second key is one screen to the left of the entrance. Push the statue to match the other and the key is yours

Hope I answered all of your guy's questions. :P

Simple edits where if you want one tile to go with a certain background but its not really made to go with that and you need to change colors or just a little bit of the tile to look more like it would fit. They are very small things and I only notice that because all of my life I've worked with sketches and art stuff. I just finshed the 5th level (my favorite so far) and I really really liked the boss.

Thanks! (I actually found your old answer to the same question on PureZC...)

Now I'm at King Dodongo.

I don't understand. Is this a tip (for I really need one) or just a reason why it's so hard?

Thanks for a fantastic game - I really want to se the rest of it!

Actually I was just explaining how it was made. :P

Anyways, the key thing is to keep moving. Move around and then he would start sucking in air. Lay a bomb in his mouth right when he does that, remember not to stay still as you do need to trigger the tiles under your feet. He will then begin to roll. Run as fast as you can around the corners sharp. Repeat this process.

Ok maybe I missed it but after level 5 am I supposed to go to the Rurriow Temple? But I don't think that's level 6...

Yes, level 6 is Rorriow Temple. Basically head to Mt. Frost and you will find the key to the path to Rorriow Temple in the cave.

Ok thanks. I had gotten there but it seemed wierd becuase it didn't have an intro (didn't the other levels have an intro?) and in the start menu there wasn't any items under the level items. So I was just making sure.
