Great quest, Rocksfan. I'm certainly enjoying it and am working through level 6. I do have a problem with getting the last key in level 5, though, so I had to borrow one from another level to complete it.
I presume the key is down the stairs in floor 2 screen 03 (sorry, it won't let me post a screenshot) and that you enter from the doorway in screen 13 below. Could you provide a hint as to how to get into the area with the door in screen 13?

I'm not quite sure what room you are describing. Can you be more specific. Describe what the room looks like or give me directions from how you got there. Describe screen 03 on floor 2 and screen 13.

Screen 03 floor 2 is the one with snakes at the top of the stairs when you first reach the 2nd floor (from the far right side of floor 1) and screen 13 is the one just south of it with octos, a large gap that you hook across, an unreachable door in the middle (which i need to reach), a door on the left to the room with the crystal, and a stairwell down to the first floor entrance room closed door

Screen 03 is accessed from screen 13. Yes there is a key there.
It is a secret stairway that is found by walking thru a wall on screen 35. Walk thru the west wall.
thx, Rocksfan, solved my problem. Somehow I never noticed that I hadn't entered the room with the passage.
I think there is still a residual key problem in level 5, however, that you might like to look at if you update the quest. If someone uses a key early on in level 5 (for example the one you added to the room with the Red darknuts) to open the locked door just in front of the Boss Lock, then you end up short a key to open the far north-east room on the first floor to get up to the second floor for additional keys -- hence would need to borrow a key from another level for a while -- or else be forever stuck.

Stuck in Level 8. I seem to be missing a key somehow and I've retraced again and again and cannot find it.
I've been to all the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor maps plus a hidden room on each, and to 12 rooms on the 3rd floor map. I'm stopped by two locked doors on the third floor, one on each side.
I got two keys from the first floor and used one on the first and one on the second in order to get up the stairs to the 3rd.
Can you provide a hint as to where to look for the 3rd key -- or is there a different path I may have missed??

There is a room with black fast octorocks in it. Walk thru the west wall. Also did you get the lens?
Ah -- finally got the magic glass -- very nice job of hiding that path to it -- you certainly fooled me. I've made a good bit of progress, but still short one key and have not found my way into just two rooms on the 3rd floor -- but we'll see tomorrow. I did follow that west wall, but without a mirror shield I just died and died again from the mirror wizards.

where is the hookshot
In a big chest in level 5.
I've got a big problem. I'm stuck in Level 3, missing a key somewhere. Passed through all walls and bombed what I could. Been able to change floor going to left, then came back to a room I had passed from top. There is a door that need a key. Been reading all the messages. No answer found. HELP someone!😕
What does this room look like? What enemies are in it? Does it have any statues or jars? Can you be more specific on where you are.
I came back to Floor 2 and finally found the Master Key. Then I found the red lantern. Then I found the missing key. Then I lost my shield...

Just after completing Level 3, I took a raft trip 2 screens East of Lake Town. There is an island with a stump with a tree on either side. I found (by accident and much trial and error to figure out how I did it in the first place) that if I go to my overworld map and come back, there is an unusable starway in that tree stump in the middle. Not sure if that is a usable stairway later on in the game, but it's a bug at the moment.

You need the braclet for the other 2. It's located in that level. You may have already passed it in your travels.
I�ve been through level 5 about fifteen or twenty times and just cannot figure out the secret to getting to the hookshot.
Please, what to do?
The key you need is in a room that has stairs blocked off from one side by blocks. It can be accessed from a room on the 2nd floor that is filled with pots and Peahats.

You were correct�I did miss a walkthrough wall (must have passed it by dozens of times).
Surely hope level 5 is the toughest one in the game, or I might be in serious trouble.

I'm blocked from proceeding at the very beginning of level 7. Can't figure out how to remove the tiles hindering me in the first part of the level (thought the 2nd level power bracelet was what I needed to move them...apparantly not).
What's the secret?
