I found it. Thanks for the help. I went to go through every room so I can take a screen cap of what my map looks like for you (for some reason, in this level, when I save and restart, the map clears... dont' knwo if it does this on all). Turns out that when I got the Boss Key, and after travelling aallll the way back to where the hookshot is, I forgot about the hookshotable(that a word? :P) path right befoe the Peahats and Pots room, that lead to the extortionist Moblin and the underground room with a key. Thanks alot.
Zelda's Quest for Link released!
EDIT: Sorry about the repost. My compute went wonky.
But I do want to say I'm still missing that Crystal. If I didn't need to get to work, I'd explore a little more, though I've no idea where I'm missing it. According to my maps, I seem to have been everywhere I can go. If you want to give me a hint on here, I jkust won't come back to this thread until I've exhausted my options. 😊

You missed another walkthu at the extortionist Moblin.😉
Thanks for the help, but it seems I'm messed up again. My last remaining key (that I needed past the Crystal Goriya) dissapeared somwhere. I specifically remember having one, then somewhere between searching for the Crystal and going to that last door past the Goriya, it vanished. Maybe it got used up when I opened the big Chest the Crystal was in. 😞
So now I don't have a key to get to the boss and get that peice of the triforce.
The entire Level 5 felt a bit glitchy. Some time after getting the Compass, it and the Tirforce blip dissappeard from my inventory adn map, though the Compass wasn't back where I found it. I noticed my Big Key dissapear from the Inventory a couple of times, and several times my Start Menu map would be blank, as if I'd not been to any rooms.
I'm back to not knowing what I should do... restart the game and hope Level 5 doesn't glitch up the second time, or just go on to level 6. I thought I read that Keys will be buyable eventually? Is this true? If so, I'll leave this peice alone until then and maybe I'm OK.
Thanks for any answers. I'm LOVING this game and would hate to leave it unfinished.

The reason it seems that way it the way I set some of the rooms. You can thank 2.10 for that. If you play the 3rd sequel you run into the "glitches" as well due to the version that it was made in. The 4th is much better but isn't anywhere close to done yet and is in the new version.
But the key was used by the big chest. Now, I'm almost certain you may have missed a room or a key in a room somewhere. But yes, keys can be bought later, but not until around level 8. You shouldn't have to start from scratch though.
Thanks alot. Off to Level 6 then. 😃
OK. I've been through Level 6, drew the map as I went with notes, and according to it, I've hit all the rooms, I got the Hammer and the boots, but I never found the Crystal. Any hints on where it is?
Upper right corner room on the 3rd floor. Try the statue in the bottom left corner.
Ahh, DOH! I musta been so excited about finding the boots to walk over spikes, that I ran right to that bombable wall, got into that room, and went right up the stairs. Thanks.
OK, now I'm stuck on Level 7. I'm only able to get 5 rooms into the second floor. I see lantuns tha tneed to be lit by the wand, I see blocks that can only be moved with a stronger bracelet, and int he last room I could get to, there's the Fire Wizrobes and a Big Key door, which I can't reach anyway. HELP!! O_O
I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing a walkthrough wall... but I've been around the place a few times.
Defeat the Wizrobes and push a block.
Thanks. I thought I pushed them all.
Anyway, now I'm stuck at the end of the level. First off... Wow, this level was something. Mostly because of the Wizrobes. I'm glad I found out how powerful the hammer is as a weapon in this game.
But now I'm just before the last three rooms (Triforce, Boss, and I'm assuming a Goriya who wants my crystal) but the door before I get to those is locked and I'm missing a key. I've draw a map as I went and marked about every key I've found, but I must be overlooking somthing. The 4th room in the 3rd floor I thought might have it, but when I got into it, I just found the new money purse.
Any chance I can get a key list for this level so I cna check it against the keys I have marked on my map? Thanks.
BTW, is the Hearts needed to use the MAgic Sword the same as the oiginal game?

It's kinda hard to point out what you may have missed. But I would assume that you missed a walkthru wall somewhere that leads to a key. Are there any rooms that you are missing?
Yes, the magic sword is the same as the original.
Not unless there's another hidden room (I've found a couple) that's not on the in game map. The map I've drawn as I went matches up with the ingame map and I've hit all the rooms save the last 3. I guess I'll just have to go to every room again. There arn't any wallthrough walls that have off-center entrances are there? Or bombable walls not marked with a crack? Thanks.
EDIT: Well, the point may be moot. I got hit by a red bubble that took away the use of my B items, and got killed before I could hit a blue one. Now I'm at the start of the level with no B Items. That means I can't bomb my way through the hole in the floor a few rooms up (which leads only a couple of rooms away from some bubbles that can help me). And taking the long back way involves Wizrobes and things that kill me before I get to far because I can't use potions or stronger weapons. I'll keep trying but man, this game just got harder.
If you have gotten the items from that level, move onto level 8. When you finish 8, you'll be able to finish 7.
Seems I was confusing this quest with another. Keys cannot be bought in this quest. It was the original Link's Retirement that you could. Fear not however. The Magic key is in level 8.
Hooray! I just need to fix my problem of no B-weapons. 😞 Feh. But If I can just make it past the Fire Wizrobes room with just my White sword and 10 hearts and that tiny space you end up in when taking the short cut, I'll be golden. Then I'll try to hunt down Level 8, see what I can do there, find that Big Key and straighten myself out. Even if I find no more Heart peices, Finishing Levels 5 and 7 will get me the MAgic Sword. Thanks.
EDIT: Wow... I started my game up this morning and my B-Weapons are back. Nice. I guess I just had to restart the program or somthing, because last night, saving and restarting didn't help. And I remember being in this spot once as a kid with Zelda 1 and restarting not fixing. Cool, now to just find out where LEvel 8 is. I read somewhere in this thread that it's in "The Forest" Well, that's the two screen area where you find Level 7 (according to the location names on the map), but where is it. Do I need to burn the whole place down? One would assume it would require somthing you get in LEvel 8, but I don't see Blue Blocks or any large rocks.
That forest is accessed by backtracking from the level 7 entrance into the passage and hitting the torch on the top with that newly aquired wand and book.
Oooh yeah. I've been in there to get the heart peice int he Plains. But I went befor eI had the bracelet yet, so I forgot about those boulders I couldn't push. ^^; Thanks.
Any tips on taking on White Wizrobes? I'm in Level 8, 3rd Floor and they're kicking my butt. Fourth Room to the Right and 4 down, two Whities, a blue block I can't hit cuz of a statue, and I can't explore it because 3 hits and I'm dead.
The room right before it has a key in a chest, but I can't get the chest. Any hints on that too? Probably somthing simple I'm overlooking.
The white wizzrobes are mirrorobes. You need the mirror shield to beat them.
I see. Am I right is assuming the Sheild is close? And that room I'm talking about? Probably a matter of avoiding the MirrorRobes? And what about that key I mentioned? Thanks alot.
EDIT: Ok, thanks alot. The MirrorRobes kicked my butt so hard before, I didnt' get to fully assess the room. But I saw how it works easy and got the key there. Now I can see on my homemade map where I have to go. And with the glass, I saw that the key in the chest in the prior room has a walkthough wall from the room above. It's barely visible in the range of that magic mirro thing. Thanks.
Rocksfan: I just found the room that probably has somthing I need... and it also has some glowing Super Gleeok, 2 glowing Aquamenti, and a Dodongo! You sir, are a SADIST! 😃 I have no idea how I'm going to get this room. Hopefully, if the rule of minibosses is in effect, I can try to rub them out one at a time and they'll stay dead.
Edit: I got it. But now I';m being owned by White Wizrobes. I got to 5th floor a few rooms in, got killed in a Wizrobe room, all the way to the beginning of the stage and now I can't get out of that Mirror Wizrobe and Like Like room at the end of 4th Floor to ger BACK to 5th. I get killed, use up my potions, have to go to skree and by more, go through the stage again, get killed again. They're so strong, even with the mirror shield, it takes so many hits to kill them, yet three hits from them takes me out. I even tried killing one, leaving the room, gettingmy hearts back from teh pots and going back in, but they've got so much power in their punch, one wrong move or hesitation, I get hit and I die and have to start over. I'm about to step away and not play for a few days, cuz It's driving me nuts. If I had that next level Crown, maybe I'd be strong enough defense wise to take them out easier and not get murdered, but I read that I can't get the cown til closer to the Boss of the Level. 😞 I may have to give it up. Maybe I'll DL and play Links Retirement 1 and come back to this at a later date when my blood pressure isn't boiling to the point of spiking my controller everytime I get killed. lol
Yes. Level 8 is definitely a test. One of the hardest levels, that is untill you reach the end of the quest.
Yes, the next crown isn't until closer to the level boss. For now just worry about the mirrorobes that keep doors closed. Don't bother with them unless you need to. They are tough, but if you line up right, you can easily defeat them.
Yeah, it's just that everytime I do get beaten, I have to go all the way to skree, get more potions and go all the way through the level again. lol
For some of these many-leveled things, there should be more Restart points along the way. Like if killed after 3rd floor, you restart at the beginning of 3rd. I saw other levels do that, but this one slaps you right back to the level entrance. SOMTIMES the end of 1st, which still hurts. 😃
Lesse, I've beaten 5 Levels total (I have to go back and beat the bosses in 5 and 7 when I get the Big Key in 8)... That would make 8 heart containers just from levels... I've got 11 now. That means there must be 2 Containers worth of heart peices still floating around out there, after I add in containers I'd get from Levels 5, 7, and 8. I should try to find where they are. If I can just get ONE more full container, that'll at least give me the Magic Sword, which might help a bit.
Any chance there's a Heart Container list floating around for the game?
BTW Rocksfan: I'm thinking of DLing one of the other Link's Retirement games to play when I don't feel like plugging away at this... that way I've got somthing fun to play all the time. I've heard you say in LR you were still learning and LR3 is better. Would you suggest I still play LR1 or just go ahead and do 3?
It's really up to you. But to keep in the story line, you should play the first as well. They will all link together in the end somehow.
It is true that LR3 is better than the first( and also more difficult, it was meant to be a hard quest), but there may be things that reflect back to the first one in it that you may not understand the meaning to. It won't end the quest for you, just make you scratch your head.
As for hearts, there are containers and pieces floating around all over. I had intended it for the player to be able to get the magic sword after level 6 if they had found all the places. So, I'm sure you may have missed a few. Always remember, with me, if there's water, there just might be a secret in it somewhere. And others might be in obvious places, so obvious that you may overlook them and say "that's too obvious". Have you looked?
There are also pieces in a couple of levels, so make sure you go into every room and check every wall.
Seeing as you only have the white sword for level 8, I can understand why it is so hard. I'm sure you may have overlooked a few secrets.
I'll see what I can do about getting you some locations.
Thanks. I'd appreciate it.
The MAgic Sword won't help that much with my main problem which are MirrorRobes, since the swod has nothing to do with killing them, but it will make the trip back and forth everytime I die easier.
