Zelda's Quest for Link released!

Hey rocksfan, can I get a hint to the red crystal in L4? I've been all over. I have the crown and power bracelet, but no crystal!

Find your way to the northwest corner of the 2nd Floor. There you will find a staircase.

Don't slash one of the skulls. Then use it to open the door.

Hey can someone help me find the boots in L6? I have the hammer and the bos key. I went to the tree stump, but I still can't find the boots.

When you enter the dungeon thru the other entrance go south. Defeat Patra.

Thanks rocksfan. I've got the boots. Btw, can I get a key map of L5, I still am missing a key there. I'm hunting the crystal in L6 right now with no success so a hint would help on that too. Thanks so much and this has been a great quest so far! Definitely 5 stars from me.

You need to re-download the quest from the DB. There may have been an update since you've done it last as a result of level 5 being short a key.

As for the crystal in 6. Look for a lone statue beyond a bombed wall to the north after you get the boots.

Thanks I found the crystal in L6. however, I have been everywhere through L5 and never found a key. I'm on the 12-11-05 version that's currently out there. Any suggestions?

Also, where the devil is L7 hiding!?!?

There is a path close to level 6. Look for it.
As for the key. Check your PM's. I'll send you a key map.

Thanks rocksfan. I made it through L7 without any help but Ihave no idea where L8 is. Did i miss a clue? Also, how many hearts do I need to get that sword?! Can I have a heart map? please?

You need 12. Level 8 is in the forest. Most of the hearts are in the open. By level 8, you should at least have enough to get it.

Help rocksfan! Is there any way to kill the white wizzrobe(mirror) guy? Nothing seems to work. I'm in L8 and I'm in a room with only one white one. I killed of the blues already. Thanks!

You need the mirror shield. Only their refleced magic can defeat them.

wow you have some nice puzzles in here, and you also seem to be getting good with zeldaclassic very quickly, this quest is way better than links retirement (i might be stupid but im not sure if you made that or not, i was thinking dbrooks made that one)

it takes me a short time to learn stuff in ZC also, but im still not that great and i also dont use it very often, but lately i have, you can see that in oracle of hyrule the beginning sucks bad but the end is decent.

the last dungeon is very creative and fun, but it takes a good length of time to complete.

Yes. I have picked up this stuff very quickly. You though this one was better than the last (yes it was Links Retirement), wait till #3.

P.S. If you like some tips, I would be glad to share with anyone.

I am incredibly stuck in L4 for days now and am about ready to give up. I'm sure the chest on the 2nd floor has the power bracelet, but I have been unsuccessful in getting to it. All other paths lead to two dead ends. One has the crown, and the other has four blocks but only two can be moved. I've read that there are some walk thru walls but quite frankly all I've gotten from trying that is one big lump on my forehead. Could someone give me a specific direction as to getting at that chest.... I am totally stumped. Thanks a bunch.

there is a room directly north of the chest. There is a staircase that goes down and a bunch of pots in the northwest corner. Walk thru the south wall. I hope you have a key for it. Also the blocks to the crown are not movable. Use one the items that you get in this dungeon to get to it.

Thanks rocksfan13. I do have a key and I'm off to try out these directions and hopefully move on thru the rest of the dungeon. I absolutley hate to give up on a quest and this is a fun one with lots of challenges. Thanks again!

I'm really stuck in L6. I've got the hammer and the boots, but I cannot find the crystal. I've read your hints about a lone statue but I'm having no luck at all. What floor is this statue on? I even made a map and went through all but the last two rooms on the 2nd floor but still no crystal. I did hit the stump on the island but I don't think I even got anything as I remember except back in the level. I've seen the directions about the bombed wall and going north, but I am clueless and tired. Could you give me specific directions? i.e. the floor and room perhaps. Thanks a bunch

Well, I finally made it through the quest. It only took me 25 hours of playing! Most of that was spent trying to solve those tricky puzzles. I never would have made it without reading along in this thread.

It was an excellent quest, rocksfan. I can't wait until the third installment.

Take the stump entrance and head north.

Radder: Glad to hear it. The next won't be for a couple of months. It's almost done but I have to work on the intro, which may take awhile.

Okay, stuck in L9. I'm in the room with the wall masters and i can see that there's a path with the mirror, but I can't figure out how to trigger it! Do I need the Silver arrows to open this path? Or does this path lead to the silver arrows? -daisy

I'm not positive, but that might be the room where you have to blow the whistle on a specific spot. The arrow is on the 5th floor.

Daisey, Radder is correct. There is a specific spot where you have to blow the whistle.

However, if you are there, you are on the wrong side of the dungeon. The arrows are on the northeast side.

Rocksfan, thanks for the L6 info and hope you can help me out some more. I think I've missed something regarding L8. I can enter the main room, but the second room south has 3 white wizzrobes who totally kill me before I can barely move. If I act quickly and light the torch, cross the bridge and bomb my way to the third room to the south I find myself at a dead end and can go no further. I've bombed, burned and basically used everything in my inventory for both 2nd and 3rd rooms but in the end I wind up dead. Thanks

Use the wand in the last room, then defeat the darknuts.

L9! okay, I have the silver arrows and I'm in a room with the gannon statue and the boss door but I can't figure out the trigger. I've bombed, whistled and bashed everything I can think of. I know the hookshot can be used from the other side but not from the side I'm on. The mirror shows the path but I can't trigger it. Can I (another) hint?!
