I find it weird that people keep naming flus and such after animals. Chicken Pox, Mad Cow Disease (I know it affected cows, but it would people sick too), Avian Flu, Swine Flu, Rosie O'Donnell... you see the pattern here?

What happened to cool disease names like Scarlet Fever, The Black Plague, Leprosy, Paris Hilton... Where's the originality anymore?

Also, do we really need a new name each year for the flu? Can't it be just "the flu" like it has been for years now? Ever wonder if maybe the beef industry has just been trying to drum up business for their loss from the Mad Cow Disease that ruined a bunch of beef? Poulrty... Pork...
My guess is that next years flu pandemic will be something to do with either fish or goats.
Oceanianic Flu
Or maybe
Goat Raper's Flu
Now that last one would be funny. "Boss, I can't come into work, Doc says I have 'Goat Raper's Flu', I'm really sick." Boss-"I'll say... You're fired! You sick wierdo!"

I still say the best was the old name for AIDS. GRID: Gay related immunodeficiency disease. Try explaining that one to your boss. 😃

Ugh, for some reason, the media saw fit to cover Obama ordering a burger for lunch. That part baffles me. And then, for some reason, Sean Hannity felt the need to make fun of Obama for ordering a burger with mustard and no ketchup. That part also baffles me. May the man never see the inside of a Whataburger, is all I've got to say. And then, he decided that a Grey Poupon commercial is an accurate representation of the sort of people who consume $2-a-bottle dijon mustard. And now no one will shut up about it, and I'm just sick to death of it.

I'm sick of the media covering and glorifying everything Obama does. When he got elected, I was thinking "Well, at least now we'll start hearing some good things about the President." But now I'm sick of it. Everything he does, they report about, and then praise.

...What the hell. Isn't there...you know...some actual NEWS they could cover?!?

Like I said, most of the news stations try to avoid actually broadcasting the news and instead focus on every single thing Obama does.

The fact of the matter is we don't have enough news to fill the demands of 24-hour news channels, and so they must invent news. It's not some Obama-loving conspiracy, as Russ would have us believe, it's just that frankly, what else are they supposed to cover?

Wow, that is hilarious!

Just saying, did they ever do that with Bush unless it was something negative?

I know you're probably too young to remember the beginning of the Iraq war, but goddamn they wouldn't shut up about that. They were all fighting each other over the most exclusive coverage of shit being blown up. I know it might not seem like it now, but when the Iraq war first started, the major news stations were tripping over themselves to cover that shit, and absolutely none of that coverage was remotely critical of the Bush administration because they were afraid of losing their exclusives.

Huh... Well the person that told me that was way off then. I just thought it was odd. Come to find out, it was just wrong. Thanks for the correction. I guess it's still kind of odd to have a wierd name for it though.

He once got a shoe thrown at him... And he also once choked on a pretzel... Yup, those were about it for positives. Actually I think it's just that he was just too easy to make him look like an idiot. Sorry to any of his supporters, but the guy kept doing a lot of it to himself. He once referred to hispanic people as "Hispanos", the terrorists once "misunderestimated" us, he kept saying "nucUlar" even after his wife pointed it out to him on public TV, and the list goes on and on. Yes I'm sure the media has a lot to do with it oin what the look to report. Currently Obama is supposed to be the savior of the US because... I don't know really. If something actually gets an actual fix, rather than supposed to have worked, I'd be interested in that. Until then... What do you get on your cheeseburger?

Off topic, as the topic may be:

Continuity fail:

I just watched an article on the news about the Cyclone Rollercoaster at Coney Island, the world famous old amusement park of the 1930s located near Brooklyn, NY. The news team filled all of the ride's cars with guests, and sent them off to do an interview on it while the ride was in motion, viewing the scene from the nose of the first car facing the rest of the cars.

Midway through the interview, everyone except the people in the first car suddenly disappeared. We were all left thinking, "Wow, that is one strong rollercoaster."

They all conveniently reappeared when the car reentered the track station.

Oh man, that reminds me of an old MST3K I saw once. The movie was "Girl in Gold Boots." The editing of the movie was so terrible that there was this scene in a diner where one character suddenly materialized right in the middle of it. Dude literally appears out of nowhere and no one seems to notice. God, and it wasn't even like they cut to another shot, and cut back to original shot and suddenly he was there - no, he teleports in on-screen.

I saw a woman driving a car yesterday with one hand holding a napkin to her face, and another holding a cell phone.
I don't know how she thought the danger of H1N1 is greater than driving with no hands.:uhoh:

Some people are just ridiculous.

So I'm really excited. I just got Majora's Mask installed into my Wii. It's so awesome finally being able to play it on a TV, like it was meant to be played. And with a classic controller too, not the N64's controller. I never quite figured out how to hold that thing. You need three hands to hold it properly.

...uhh...noooooo.

You need two. Your right hand grips the right "prong" (the one with the buttons). Depending on the game, your left hand will grip either the center "prong" (if the game uses the control stick), or the left "prong" (if it doesn't use the stick).

Honestly, it was one of the comfiest controllers I've ever used. Second to the Dreamcast controller, and tied with the 360 controller.

GCN Controller is still by far the best controller I've ever used. 360 controller is next to it. N64 controller could be next, depending what I'm doing. I find it acceptable for OoT, but horrid for SSB. I actually got used to the keyboard for SSB64.

I got to say, I like the Wii Remote + Nunchuck the best. It actually allows you to move your arms around, for one. I like the way the buttons are positioned. And I like the feel of it. Gamecube is pretty good, but I'm a bit biased against it, because of how crappy mine are. And 64 is okay, but they always felt weird in my hands.

I absolutely love the Gamecube controller. Though I gotta admit, for shooters, nothing really beats the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo - well, aside from mouse/keyboard. Seriously, I really wish they'd make more shooters for the Wii.
