I always thought what kind of sports you think we could make in Zero gravity... or even low gravity? I bet it would be really interesting!

Space golf?

I was thinking like 4 teams in a big sphere with a ball, and 4 goals... or something that would just blow your mind to watch.

Space golf would be retarded... you would never find your ball

Yeah, Modus Ponens beat me to it. The Battle Room would be made of pure awesome.
Just remember to....reorient your perspective after going in, hehehe (inside joke)

Wow....that's actually a pretty awesome idea. :P Probably since it's a lot like blitzball, but whatever... it's still cool.

and oh. my. gosh. I am hopelessly addicted to Puzzle Planet league. Tetris attack is consuming my brain...and it's GOOD! My neurons are being stimulated! My sanity is being preserved! WHOOO!! *goes to play another half hour long endless mode!!*

Hey, ST, do I get points for my ava and title? 😃

(Yeah, I know, not he best picture, but a Google search for Ender's Game doesn't bring up a lot...)

How about Space Swimming. It would work like swimming (since there is air to push against), it would just be a lot harder, but three deminisional instead of two deminsional.

That's the point. :sly:

Okay, so that was a dumb idea. But still, it would be fun to try sports at zero gravity.

Personally, I've always wanted to see low-gravity football. Ever since I was a kid, I've thought that football would be a lot more interesting with those big dudes flying through the air. I mean, it could totally change the game. You'd have a guy apparently cornered, but then suddenly leaping over the defense. Or you have a quarterback looking for an open receiver when he's suddenly sacked by a lineman diving in from above. Of course, there'd be a problem in that even a short pass would end up halfway down the field, but other than that, I think it'd be great.

I've always fantasized about—and now we're just talking about normal gravity on-Earth conditions again—large-scale Capture the Flag leagues, with differently laid-out playing fields in different cities around the country (or world), and teams traveling to play games and such. Capture the Flag is my favorite sport. I was the treasurer for WWU's CTF club for the one year that that club officially existed, and I played as often as I could. We talked to representatives from UW's CTF club (ironically, it included people I went to high school with—you remember Sean Naylor, Bel? ... I don't even think Beldaran reads this thread) about playing some intercollegiate games, but it never came together. Sigh... those were some of my favorite memories.

Anyway, zero-gravity CTF would be weird, but low-gravity CTF would be fucking rad.

Ah, the battle room. Of course. That'd be pretty awesome... I wonder how much a flash suit would be.

I both remember Mr. Naylor and occasionally read this thread. 😊

If we're talking about fantasies, I've always fantasized about Kate Winslet giving me a blowjob. I think this would be equally entertaining in zero G.

Am I the only one who can't imagine anything being fun in zero-gravity, because I'm too pre-occupied by the thought that I'd be terrified by the lack of gravity? The only thing I'd be doing is having a zero-g panic attack.

Yes, yes you are, and you should be ashamed.

Of course, you wouldn't stay in zero gravity forever. Just long enough to play the game.

In my gym class, we play a game called continuos capture the flag. basically, there are three flags on each side, and you have to have all six on your side to win. The way the field is set up, there's a safe zone behind each side, where the flags are. When you run across the side to get there, you're safe until you touch the flag. Then you try to run it across, and you can pass it, but the reciever has to be on the same side.

I think that would be awesome to try in zero gravity. So many possibilities.

Capture the Flag really isn't fun unless you can tackle the other side. That and the game just takes forever.

Our gym teacher also cam up with a solution. Standard games play in a gym divided into half like it would be if you were using it for basketball, or soccer, or some other sport. He splits it down the legth. So instead of:

oooo
oooo
oooo
oooo
lllllllllll
oooo
oooo
oooo
oooo

You have:
oooooooo
oooooooo
lllllllllllllllllllll
oooooooo
oooooooo

Makes it go a lot quicker.

So I just installed the Homebrew Channel on my Wii, after finding tons of sources to assure me my Wii wouldn't break. Anybody have any suggestions for good games/software to put on it?

Quake Wii? I've heard about it before. Guess I'll get it.

I have to say, I've been having fun with the GBA emulator. It's fun playing Metroid: Zero Mission with a Wii Remote.

One thing I hate about the DS is that the buttons are awkwardly positioned for GBA games, and you can't remap 'em. If I could use Y as B and B as A, I really wouldn't mind playing GBA games on my DS at all. And unfortunately my GBA died when my sister accidentally dropped it. Sorry, just thinking about the Wii GBA emulator.

Fool, nothing is fun with a Wiimote.

I actually like the way the buttons are. I've got an M3 flash cart, and I've transferred all of my GBA games over to it. Well, not all (I have way too many), but all the good ones.

I disagree. Everything is fun when you add Wiimote to the equation. I just love the way it feels. You don't use your thumbs as much. Plus I love the point at screen controls.
