I still can't grasp how it stores its creature data. Is it in the header of the image file? Or is the shading around the creature in the image file somehow the data? It's confusing. Demo scene people are friggin geniuses.

I believe it's encoded as metadata - think of how MP3 files can store artist, song, album, etc. I may be mistaken, but I suspect it's similar.

I downloaded something labeled as "full version", and the instructions say to install the trial and just drop in the Data folder. Now when I run the trial, I have more pieces but still not all of them. Is the the best that's available or is there a real "full" version out there that has everything?

If you register you seem to have a sort of site that hosts your creatures. Im trying to figure out how to share them.

Yeah, well, I basically bought it the day it came out, so there wasn't time for anyone to pirate it, and I didn't want to risk having to sort out the real deal from some virus some jerk uploaded.

Am I the only one that's having problems with Spore?

I downloaded the Creature Creator Demo and it'll crash somewhere after the Maxis screen and the creature creator screen.

I know that my computer isn't up to snuff, but about the 10th try the game loaded and I managed to make one creature. Then I changed some graphics options and exited the game so I could play it later with better graphics. Since then it hasn't held up long enough for me to do anything.

The spiral galaxy will show and then I'll go to click on something and then the game just disappears like that, without any error messages.

Are there any patches or updates to the demo?

Did you install the EA download manager? I've heard some people have had problems with it installing a "patch" which made Spore unusable.

Yeah, I installed the EA manager thingy. I got Spore to work one more time late last night and created a couple creatures, Fat American, and SEAKING, haha.

I got to the creature creation part earlier today and while I was putting on a mouth it crashed again.

I want to buy the full version because the lack of parts in the trial is kind of stifling me. "Pay $10 for the demo, then full price for the game?" Screw you Maxis. I'm going to make a creature that looks like a giant butt and tell you to kiss it.

Then again, I just might want some penis creatures in my galaxy, so I'll have a decent excuse to annihilate a few planets and feel no guilt about it.

This just reeks of unfairness. Those poor Spores have no control over what they look like. They are all beautiful in God's eyes, and just because one person with a perverted mind wants to malign God's creation, Maxis is going to wipe out an entire species to the point of extinction?

What is this teaching our very-young who are undoubtly going to be all over this bubbly and colorful game?

Before you go off on a weird self-righteous quest for the little man thing, could you at least give us a few funny post first? And by that I mean purposely funny, not the incidental funny that happens whenever you post.
