Yeah, I know this has actually happened a few days ago. Its still perhaps the best soundtrack ever. 314 tracks. The torrent itself is a little over a gig.
[Edit]Changed link to the page with the link to the torrent.[/edit]
[edit again]Removed completely. But whatever, its still awesome.[/edit again]
Discuss. [also, I'm currently unaware of any rules against links to Torrents. If its bad, I'll remove it.]
Well, it is recently copyrighted material which i think would pose a threat to AGN's well being if they get sued for allowing distribution of the copyright holders product in part or full.
Well then, nothing against a link to a link, is there?
Hmm. I've yet to see this all in one package. I ended up getting it in parts from the ffshrine forums.
Oh, and I think it is against the rules to post torrents, but I dunno. I seems like it would fall under with ROMs.
I actually believe it is against the AGN terms of service.
Thats why I changed it. However, this is the full OST, including victory jingles. No sound effects however. 1.08g. I'm really enjoying the Fire Emblem medley.
I think anything that is qualified as a link to copyright-protected material is forbidden here. Even if it is a link to a link, that still qualifies as a link.

Correct.
You can still say, "Brawl's soundtrack has been ripped. Search for it".
Which I did after the first post about it... >_> Why is it that nobody seems to care about the music, and just that I did something wrong? Thats no fun at all.
oh hey, i might have a link somewhere below my post that has some rips of it. not the entire ost, but something to wet your appetite.
edit:

The OST maybe be the BEEZ KNEEZ and all that, but you really can't publically post links to copyrighted material. just do what i do and relagate it to your signature.
Your torrent tracker sig image can't be correct, Gerudo. This one currently has 622 leechers, and 323 seeders. Not 20 and 38. O_o [this one is mp3, btw]
I'll have to look for it, I imagine the music is a good listen. Apparently SSBB is the first Wii game to use a Dual-Layer DVD disc. I heard stories about problems playing it on Wii's that have smoke scum built up from smoking, as well as pirates having to update their ripping programs to rip the dual layer disc.
And yes, we can't have torrent links here. That would just be warezing straight out.
MasterSwordUltima wrote:Why is it that nobody seems to care about the music, and just that I did something wrong?
You entered a gray area and tried to justify your illegal activity. i think people here care more about this sites well being then some torrent 😉
That may be, but I got rid of all the illegal minutes after I found out. Also, I could've sworn that it used to be okay to post a link to a link with a download. Hmmm...
but you are linking to the illegal content. a link to illegal material is illegal in it self because your not allowed to share the content so making a link to a link is also illegal because you are making a illegal link to a illegal download still. the link to the content is illegal because you are not meant to share the content. you can have it online so long as there is no way to link to it (thus eliminating sharing)
im sure i could elaborate a bit better on it and make it vastly more clearer but i am too lazy ._.

Me too...didn't Glitch used to link to links of porn? Haha.
This isn't about what is illegal or not. The rules of the forum are that you should not post links to copyrighted material without the owners permission. I.E. Don't link to a page that you can download Zelda 64 roms or something. There is an expection to the rule, which would be that you could mention the name of a website which might host such things. Though we'd appreciate it if you do not use a hyperlink or make it a habit of posting your favorite warez places.
stop treating MSU like your scapegoat. the transgression has passed, get over it. its not like he does this all the time, just got excited about the OST being put out so soon. anyone who knows about torrents will know how to get ahold of the ost.
also, unless an official soundtrack cd gets put out, i dont see how posting a link to the SSBB ost is any less legal than linking to music like the xSF format (psf/2, gsf, nsf, etc). i could be wrong, but thats just how i see things.

I do not believe anyone is using MSU as a scapegoat; MottZilla was just clarifying the rules, not saying that the staff of AGN consider him a bane to the forums. MSU handled the situation responsibly. It was merely a misunderstanding, and it's been taken care of. It would be nice to see some discussion regarding the actual soundtrack, which MSU tried to stimulate and franpa subsequently sidetracked by attempting to point fingers again.

Yessir.
Much of the released sample music sounds great. I haven't had the chance to download the OST (a gig?!), but I think I will at one point. Smash Bros. music has always been great in the past.
i can guarantee that with the exception of a song here or there that you'll almost absolutely love the entire soundtrack.
VS Ridley, Final Destination II, Kirby Boss Medley, and the version of "Midna's Desperation" are among my favorites.
I am dissapointed in the distinct lack of Yoko Shimamura, but besides that it gets a most highly emphatic approval from me.
I really like how they incorporated the Brawl theme song into Final Destination II. I've been listening to that for a while. That and Marx' battle theme remix. But Marx' theme is epic no matter what. MGS Encounter could've been done a bit better, in my opinion though.
So, if it's against the rules to post a link to a link to illegal material... If somebody posted a link to a link, and I posted a link to the thread with the link to the link, would I be in violation of the rules? Or what if, the link to the link was in fact a link to the original thread, such that it creates some sort of weird predestination paradox? *goes cross-eyed* Sorry, sorry, I couldn't help myself.
The whole thing does get me thinking, though - don't know why Nintendo doesn't do more with the soundtracks to their games? They have some pretty kick-ass soundtracks... They could probably make a killing releasing official OSTs. Just a thought.
The thing is alot of game soundtracks are released, but often only in Japan. For a long time over here, video game music has gone unappreciated. But in japan it's alot more common to see OSTs for games. It's a shame really. I'll find the OST sometime here, I'd like to give it a listen. It'll probably be awhile before I get anoter Wii anyway.
So did anyone import Brawl yet? I think the US release is 2 or 3 months behind the japanese release.
Sunday, March 9th is the US release date for the game. It's on the main webpage for the Brawl website: http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/index.html
That's still a whole month. You could be playing it now if you'd imported it. 😛 I got the OST. Seems to me like just a Nintendo Collection of remixes from lots of their games. Which I guess would make it the soundtrack for a SSB game then. Good stuff though.

If by import, you mean an ISO? Yes, there are a few places that have it. Which is almost unbelievable to me, an ISO of a game not even out yet in America. [shrug]
No, that is called Pirating. Importing is paying someone to go get it from japan and give it to you.
