Ok I beat the fire breathing dragon at the end and the game crashed after the screen flashed quite a bit and when it started saying "I ...." etc....
Is that the end or is there more? I technically finished it right? 😃

You were on level 8, right? There was another level after that. And are you using a 2.5 beta? If so, report it.

No I beat Vaati (or whatever his name is) in level 9. And no I'm not using 2.5 beta, I'm using 2.10.2, I thought 2.10 wasn't supoosed to have bugs or is it because I'm using 2.10.2? So is that the end or is there more after what I said in the previous post?
Is this in a newer version of the quest? The only thing I remember after Vaati is that you get into the castle and get some upgrades...
merlim: you have to move the top one to the left, wait until a fireball passes then you move the two together, one to the right, then the other one up as quickly as possible, then move out of the way

Yes I'm using the latest version 1.2.4 released 02/20/2008 ... and if it's only upgrades then I guess I finished this quest ... no use trying again 😊
Toe-Knee, all you missed were the credits and ending area. You can still view the credits by entering the boss room stairs of Level 9. As a matter of fact, I suggest you do. (There is still a little bit more game to play.)
By the way, were you playing it in windowed mode?
I can't find the silver arrow in Level 6. Can someone help me out please?
Oh, by fire-breathing dragon you meant the one inside Vaati. No wonder.
And like Pineconn said, there's been some errors with people not playing in full screen. If people would just check the read-me!

I didn't know windowed mode caused this. I guess I didn't read the read-me properly
Oh and Pineconn the thing is I probably have to beat the last boss again since it crashed. I'll try in fullscreen when I have a chance. Maybe tomorrow since I'm coming down with a fever or something 😞
That's right, you weren't able to save. Well, the ending is sort of nice, so I would suggest defeating Vaati again.
Bobbie, the silver arrow is in F1 15. If you are missing keys, here is a list of every key in Level 6.
This is how dungeon rooms are numbered:

For example, the red room is 14, the green room is 75.
Thanks Pineconn
I got the silver arrow. I still have one key but can't find the Boss key for anything. Is there another entrance?
This is a terrific quest!
vaati is kicking my butt. ive been fighting him most of the day, ive died 20 times or so. any pointers?
Are you bringing potions?
im bringing a whole bottle, the usual
I don't want to give these hints away if some like to figure it out for themselves but it's better to hide just in case 😉
That part when those X's are all over the screen, keep using your hookshot over and over and nothing (or almost nothing) will hurt you. Also for the rocks, stand in the top left corner for the first batch and the top right corner for the 2nd batch and you won't get harmed and all you have to do is move slightly for the rocks to keep falling. That's what helped me so far from what I noticed.
Bobbie, the boss key is in the northern portion of F1 (room 14). From the entrance to Level 6, go right, up, up, right, right, and through the passway. It is linear from there.
Vaati tips:
1. Use the gold arrow as much as possible. Use it to kill the enemies Vaati spawns (like the Armos and Moldorm enemies that look like cloud things). The gold arrow makes these battles cake.
2. When you enter Vaati, ignore the enemy Digdogger Kids. Go to the correct stationary Digdogger Kid and slash it.
3. Use Din's Fire as much as possible, too. Use it to wipe out waves of Bats spawned by the Batrobes, or, if you really want, to kill the Digdogger Kids.
4. Try to learn the patterns of the red orbs Vaati throws at you or the meteors he slams at you.
5. In the last sequence (the part that you have to use items very quickly), as soon as you enter a warp, bring up the subscreen. While the subscreen is scrolling, memorize what item you need to use and where it is. Be very quick.
The stationary digdogger is the one that you hit? I just went in there, instantly remembered the Vaati battle in Minish Cap where you went inside him and hit to hit a certain enemy, and used the lens of truth to find which one had a sword hovering above it. And on a side note, there is a good thing about using 2.5. The boss works better. When the meteors fall from the sky, you don't have to move to make them start falling again. This is because of an improvement in the way direct warp combos work if they appear directly under Link. It makes the game flow better.

Collieman,
I am not sure I follow you, move what two together and do I move the one that I moved to the left back all the way to the right? Thanks.
Eddie 😎
merlim:
i think there was just 3 movable mirrors. one towards the top, and two to the right of it. first, move the top one to the left and leave it there. the other two, one will move to the right, and the other goes up. when a fireball goes past the two together, quickly move them ( first one to the right one space, and second one up one space ) then move out of the way. it took me a few tries to do it right, i hope this is more clear
Well I finally completed this quest once and for all with 28 hours and 30 minutes of playing time later 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this quest Pineconn and hope you make other quests like these. Maybe you don't have time but that's fine. Great job!
well i beat vaati twice now and during the credits both times the program quit. if there is still some gameplay, its not going to let me. but it was a good game. i had close to 60 hours finishing it. thanks pineconn
Did it quit in the same place? Where?
Were you in windowed mode? Try again in fullscreen. Apparantly there is some bug with ZC in windowed mode.
Alternately, you could beat Vaati, then quickly quit->save. You could view the credits again / view the end area.
Edit: Wow, 60 hours!!
How to complete the Level 9 mirror puzzle!
I'm starting to enjoy YouTube.

no it didnt quit in the same spot, and it is in windowed mode. ill try your suggestion.
yeah, 60 hours. i like to explore and be thorough. i usually earn money with exploring rather than gambling. more time than most people is normal for me.
collieman, it'll not crash if you play it fullscreen. Same thing happened to me playing in windowed mode. Besides there is a bit more to the game even after Vaati if you go back to the castle 😊
I love the castle. I go there, here the king say how much of a hero Link is, then I hit him with an arrow and get kicked out. You got to love the irony. "We will never forget your courage. OUT!!!"
ok, i got the quest finished with the last 2 items. a very well put together game. thanks. is there any info from me from my experience that could help? i.e. for reasons scholastic, professional, whatever?
Need some assistance. I have been wandering around Level 9 for some time now and my head is starting to spin. I have the fire boomer, golden arrow and have gotten all eight keys for Level 9 mentioned in a previous post. However I come to a dead end on B1 Room 25. Looks like I need one more key to move right and the door below is closed. There is reference to a magical key but I can;t seem to locate that either. Am I overlooking something simple?
Have you been to a room with many, maybe 20 warps in it? That is actually 2 rooms, and I think you want to go to the left of the "second" room. (Can't remember exactly.)
