Aah, the wonders of Wikipedia.
So...
Wikipedia is how I pass the hours when I have nothing to do, just clicking from page to page. Yesterday was the Mandelbrot Set, and now I have to see if our graphing calculators can graph in a complex plane. 😃
Wikipedia is simply amazing. Where would we be without it?
Speaking of Wikipedia, this is amusing.
[strike]Funny you should mention it.[/strike]
EDIT: Holy crap. I do love a good simultaneous post, eh? *Monacle*
LMAO ShadowTiger - get out of my head!
What are we gonna do when the world wide web crashes and man goes into another dark ages.... Losing wiki will be like the burning of the library of alexandria...
That College Humor video is rad, and the guy who says "Your tone isn't even close to neutral, and where are you getting these facts?" and "Vandalism!" is Jeff the managing editor, and he appears in ON Networks' Play Value video podcast, which is an excellent show about the history of video games. I recommend checking it out.
I need to get a tattoo. One that says "I don't have money and I don't want to hear about your imaginary friend who lives in the sky." Seriously, for some reason people kept either asking me for money or wanting to talk to be about Jesus today.
Were you wandering the streets of a large city? That's where they tend to spawn.

To (probably incorrectly) quote a comedian:
I wan't you to feel comfortable, so I'd like to talk to you about Jesus... Seriously, is there anything more uncomfortable than being told "I'd like to talk to you about Jesus." We could say that to the Pope and he'd be like "Wo there, back off freak!"
Anyways, yes, I myself find those people somewhat annoying. There are better ways to convert people than ambushing them on street corners.
I live in St. Paul. Not exactly a huge city, but it's definitely got its big-city areas (and unfortunately, I live near one because I don't have a car/don't believe in owning one and it's convenient for school).
I've never seen that happen in Montreal. 0_o
The oddest thing I've had happen was this one guy who came up to me and a friend, and said "Look, my family is trying to kill me, the government don't believe shit, and I need to get out. Can you give me a hand, or some-"
Then my friend cut him off.
Friend: "Whitehorse"
Guy: "what?"
Friend: "Whitehorse! It's in the Yukon. No one is gonna find you there"
Guy: "but how am I supposed to get there?"
Me: "...Walk?"
And then we left him behind.
...that, and I saw a street beggar with a sign saying "Please donate to the beer fund". I almost gave him some change just so I could say "Well, least you're honest".
You know some of those beggers make more money than you do. Some sit out there all day doing nothing all day except asking for change. That change adds up when thousands of people give him change. Some even give bills. It's possible they could make over $70000 a year. Seriously They work longer, they don't spend it on gas. Some go back to sweet ass homes, then they save money on water because they don't shower.
It's THEIR daily job.

That comedian would be Jim Gaffigan, and the quote is:
"I do want everyone to feel comfortable, that's why I'd like to talk to you about Jesus.
'He better not.'
It doesn't matter if you're religious or not, does anything make you feel more uncomfortable than some stranger going, 'I'd like to talk to you about Jesus'?
'Yeah, I'd like you not to.'
We could say that to the Pope, 'I want to talk to you about Jesus', he'd be like, 'Easy freak. I keep work at work'.
I have to admit, that was a good impression of the Pope."
It's the absolute worst when you know the person because you've seen 'em before. Especially when they use the same damn sob story. Car ran out of gas, daughter in the car, blah blah blah, yeah, I know, you told me the same damn thing last week, and I have a friend that you tried that line on a couple of times, too. Oh, and one more helpful pointer - if you happen to see your buddy while you're out scamming, don't be an idiot and go up and say hi to 'em.
Oh, and speaking of Mandelbrot sets:

Oh, and graphing on the complex plane isn't really that difficult - complex numbers are easily converted into x/y coordinates, which is how computers plot Mandelbrot sets. The tricky part is programming the equation and scaling the numbers up so they can be properly displayed on a screen.
*signing*
"Just take a point called Z n a complex plane
let Z1 be Z squared plus C
Z2 is Z1 squared plus C
Z3 is Z2 squared plus C
and so on
if the series of Z's will always stay
close to Z and never trend away
that point is in the Mandelbrot Set
Mandelbrot set
you're a rorshach test on fire
you're a day glo pterodactyl
your a heart shaped box of strings and wire
you're one badass f****ing fractal
and you're just in time to save the day
sweeping all our fears away
you can change the world in a tiny way..."

Jonathan Coulton FTW. He was the greatest highlight of PAX. He played Birdhouse In Your Soul! Birdhouse In Your Soul! <3
HOLY CRAP!
Our Drama club began Haunted House construction today, right?
Normally on a given day we get 10-15 walls built.
Today we got 48! I have never seen a day like this before. We are so ahead of schedule it's not even funny.
That's alot of walls! How big is your stage?
67 feet by 48, but we're keeping a decent margin around the edges, so say 56 by 40 of useable space. And we build from 8x8 or 4x8 walls, so everything's built on a 4ft grid.
Hehe, I got to plan it out this year. It's gonna be frickin sweet. Switchback doors, walls you can see through, but not get past, arrows pointing the wrong direction...our maze rules.
Amaster42 wrote: walls you can see through, but not get past,
So... windows?
no doors...
Sounds awesome. Take lots of pictures of it and post them here.
Oh man, I cracked up so bad at your post Belderan. For some reason I can't give you rep though.
*shudders*
Oh God, I've had a lot of weird dreams, but last night... Unspeakable evil... Somehow I got 4chan in my dreams. Dear God - it was just a never-ending stream of random crap and nonsequiters. I blame those damn Youtube Poop videos. Now if you'll excuse, I'm going to curl up in the fetal position on my living room floor and never go to sleep again.
Well since I'm bored, I found my way over to eBay and spent $10 on a universal remote keychain that I can use to mess around with at Walmart or Best Buy or whatever restaurant that has TVs.
If I had $50 I didn't need for things I give a damn about, I would totally get this:

Eh, yeah, well, arches from an old set covered in chicken wire.
Yeah, I'll get photos.

...dude, I want one. That would be SO AWESOME!

Mmm... Bacon... Yeah, I literally ran to the store this morning to pick up some bacon because I suddenly thought, "You know what would be really good right now?"
:P mmmm...Bacon.
And 😃! I managed to get my hands on a copy of Sonic Adventure DX. I've been looking for it for a little while now.
