Myspace.com got someone killed!!!!!

i saw this story on lolitron.com (stfu, its an animeblog site), i thought it was pretty funny.

click

some idiots blame myspace for what happened (looks like DsS is one of them). maybe if his emo friends would have helped him out more than "hay meng d0nt d0 1t", we wouldnt be calling him a winner right now.

....

I didn't blame myspace for it. I HAVE one so how can I blame it? If you didn't read the first sentence, I found this on a forum and copied it here...

Suicide is the easy way out. No one is to blame for anything. No one besides him pulled that trigger.

I don't think it's funny. Probably because my sister and her friends are in the same age group, and one of her friends is suicidal, but maybe the whole suicide thing not being funny is just all in my head.

You should never laugh at a kid who kills himself. Now his family and friends are likely depressed, and feeling like it's their fault. Sorry if that sounds bitchy, but I know how a friend of mine felt when her cousin hung himself, and she surely didn't laugh. But whatever.

This coming from the lady with the an avatar depicting how to commit suicide effectively.

You're right, it is hypocritical of me, but there is also a difference between laughing about a kid who really killed themself, and making fun of emo twats who just say they want to die because it's the current "fad".

certainly if it happened to me it obviously wouldnt be a laughing matter, but people kill themselves over the stupidest reason. (dont take that the wrong way, i'm not saying that your sis' friend is stupid).

honestly, the "fad" seems to be popular nowadays. people prod and poke fun at it, but i was once on the end of the prod n poke, and it wasnt funny at all, add in the suicidal factor and you're either going to get one added to the darwin pool, or another columbine...

*shrugs*

anyways, what i'm trying to say is that if someone leaves you, or something bad happens, sure it hurts, but time heals all wounds (well, it puts a nice shiney band-aid over them, but you get the meaning). the only thing suicide brings is sadness from family / friends, and (anymore) ridicule from everyone else.

DsS: my apologies, i indeed read your post wrong.

I thought this was going to be like some nut job went to some myspace member's house and killed them. Instead it's emocide? I wouldn't say it's funny, just crazy. But you know we will never know the whole story of what went on, so no one can know really why.

Oh well.

dude...this is just disturbing

what? Are the parents gonna sue myspace? that's just like suing the looseleaf companies if the kid used that to spread the message.

Sigh...this world is so stupid...I hope I make it through with my sanity intact!

What a pussy. We've all had someone leave us, someone who didn't want us, someone who picked on us, I just hate sympathy for this kind of shit. I've tried to kill myself, alot of teens have, and we've ALL thought about it, but most of us work through it, and we're alive to realize that it was all just bull shit, and we were just pussies. Maybe I'm just unsympathetic, maybe I'm an asshole, probably both, I don't give a shit, but anyone gay enough to commit suicide should be ridiculed and forgotten. *shrugs*

Suicide isn't sad at all. It's just wrong. This is probably going to sound mean, but people need to stop blaming society for their problems and start taking charge of them themselves. That is the only way to ever overcome them.

edit:
Looks like Goat beat me to it.

I can only think of a few situations where suicide would be desirable/understandable. This isn't one of them.

I'm currently in a bad situation with a friend/ex-friend of mine who's crush wouldn't go out with him. Once he learned that he can get people to do things by threatening to kill himself, he's abused it to high hell. He thought it would make him look tough and that it would get him friends. This guy was one of my best friends and my fellow interneter, now I would barely mind it if he killed himself. Most suicides and almost all suicide threats are an insult to those who took fought their way out of horrible situations. Suicide is initially sad, but after the initial shock, it's just pathetic.

if you look at the guys profile its really stupid, its redirects you to a girls webcam. Whoever's webcam that is they are pretty smart because alot of people will be looking at that profile. You cant really see much before it redirects you, i saw mostly emo stuff. The only thing you can really look at is the pictures and all of his friends left him dumbass comments sayings "i love you, and ill miss you". I will say tho this is more scary then funny or sad.

P.S it says last updated logged in dec 4th, didnt he kill himself on the 28th

And yet another example of someone who took the internet too seriously. From the sounds of it, he probably killed himself over one of those stupid "would you stick up for me" polls.

I laughed. And I'm not apologizing just because someone somewhere might be offended.

I too would like to know why his last login is the 4th. They must have net access wherever he went.

I know most of you will find this material offensive, but for the few that can enjoy the humor here, well...
Enjoy it.

I still claim it's fake until a credible source is cited.

BTW, He's still alive: http://www.myspace.com/ytmndfags

Omg, I'm losing it, the Vader one is the best, basically because of teh song. This is a great thread tho, usually when I laugh about people dying and make fun of the dead, I have to listen to people bitch at me for days.

If you read the comment, his page got hacked. I believe it because of the fact that a dude on SRK found his profile the next day. I clicked it and I was directed to his site.

Now its some chick named jasmine's webcam.

Is there a newspaper article about this? Maybe and obituary from his town's newspaper's website or something along those lines...? Maybe he is his hacker!!!11

Maybe they are thinking that there is internet in heaven. Or maybe they are making themselves feel better by acting concerned.

Wow, now myspace is a way to talk to dead people, and I thought only giant dueches with tv shows could do that.

In the end won't tom somehow make more money off this?

You sit on a throne of lies.

Anyway, I don't understand why the fact he left a suicide note on myspace makes this any more significant than any of the other teen suicides. It's still the same suicide as usual and odds are if he didn't have myspace he would have either called a friend, sent an email, or just left a note on the kitchen counter.

There was an article somewhere about this but honestly all I saw was "suicide" and "myspace" and I just didn't care.

I have done a lot of thinking about death lately and I decided all my morality regarding killing/murder/suicide hinges on a single idea:

The only valid reason to take a human life is to save another human life or to punish a capital crime.

If he were carrying some new virus that would wipe out humanity his suicide would be justified since his death saved many. Instead, all he did was cause pain and suffering to those around him.

Does anyone who does this think about the destruction they cause? So you're depressed and you want to show us all that you really matter. What happens when you die and we do care? It's not high fives all around because someone has to pay for your funeral. Some parent visits a grave and wonders why. You have spread your depression to others; now they have to live with the very pain you found unbearable.

Everyone deals with pain and there have been individuals throughout history who have endured pains far greater than anything most people who are suicidal experience. The only logical explanation for what drives a person to suicide I can find is two words: defective unit. (This neatly covers chemical imbalances -- clearly a defect in genetics [And I am the third generation of my family with Seasonal Affective Disorder so I am not ashamed to admit I am defective as well; so poo to the incoming accusations that this is me trying to establish superiority to those with deficiencies])

In fact, suicide is often one of the most selfish acts an individual can perform.
