The Random Quote Guessing Game

Looks like nobody is going to get that one, and I don't know it either.

"You had to come down here with an attitude, acting all big and bad. And what the hell is that SMELL!?"

Independence Day, Will Smith's character (I don't remember his name) talking to the dead alien he's dragging along behind him.

This ins't a single quote, but a conversation:

"Forgive me, Your Highness! I did not see you!"
"Your aim would suggest otherwise."
"And, for that, I know I must die."
"Oh, then...then speak of this to no one and I shall be lenient."

Is that from a movie? It's part of a quote from philosopher Lucius Annaeus Seneca but I don't know of any movie where it is used

It is indeed Lucius Annaeus Seneca, but its not used in any movie to my knowledge (which in Random Quote Guessing Game, the quote can come from any source, not just movies. I put that in the first post all the way back when it was started) Anyway, since you guessed it you get the next quote.

Over a month has passed and nobody has gotten this one. It's from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (TV series, not movie).

"It's like people only do things because they get paid, and that's just really sad."

Looks like nobody else is going to get this. It's Wayne's World.

"You should never run from anything immortal. It attracts their attention."

Is anyone even still playing this? Well, that was from The Last Unicorn.

I'm going to post one on the off-chance that someone will play.

"Well, a little rain never hurt anybody."
"Yeah, but a lot can kill you."

Jumanji. The Robin Williams original.

I've not touched this thread primarily to encourage others to guess the quotes, because it would be boring if I was the one who got it every time. That and being sucked into Stardew Valley and Subnautica.

Anyway, for the quote I got this one I've been saving for a while.

"And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

I've read The Great Gatsby I don't know how many times. You'll have to do better than that.

"To kill me, you would have to become solid. And when you become solid, you can be broken."

This is going to be a tough one unless you're familiar with the source.

EDIT: I didn't have that exactly right. The lines reads: "To kill me, you would first have to become solid. And when you become solid, then you can be broken." Still, close enough IMO.

It's been two months so I'm going to just go ahead.

Sub-Zero speaking to Scorpion (as he defeats him yet again) in the Mortal Kombat: Blood & Thunder graphic novel.

A month has passed with no answer. The quote is from "Bright Lights, Big City." I have not seen the movie so I can't give context, but I remember that line from the promos when the movie opened.

"Well, you know, you can live on it, but it tastes like sh*t."

Seems like it's just you and me playing this game....

That line is from "Crocodile" Dundee, and it said twice. Once when Mick is cooking some animal in the outback of Australia, then again when Sue gives him a hotdog in New York.

"I just want you to feel you're doing well. I hate for people to die embarrassed."

The Princess Bride. Fezzik says this while battling the man in black.

"For twenty-five years I've been waiting to tell you what I thought of you, but being a Christian woman I can't say it!"

Red Dwarf. Cat says this when Lister sets a bowl of food on the floor for him.

"My God. Do you know what this means? It means that this damn thing doesn't work at all!"

It’s been over two years and I am convinced this thread has died, but I an a wizard and will use my necromantic powers and revive it in hopes somebody will play. That last one was from Back To The Future.

”Well, we’re back in the car.”
”Yeah, but at least we got out of the tree.”
