Playing Star Fox adventures. Going pretty well, and also giving a Zelda Parallel Worlds Remodel a go. Having fun with it. 😊
What are you playing right now?
I'm playing Skyrim now that the DLC is out on PS3. It's pretty good so far. I like carrots.
I apologize in advance for the wall of text.
Still playing FF XI. Level 25 Red Mage (can't subjob yet because the Bogi that drops the bloody robe for the subjob quest in Mhaura is surrounded by a dozen ass-loving goblins when it spawns and I'm not sure about asking for a person or two in-game to party with me for just one item with little reward for them in the process) and doing the Three Kingdoms Mission for Windurst (I've finished the San d'whatever portion, working on Gustav tonight). Other than that, I got FF V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX when they were 50% off for my PSP on PSN and started playing V on and off. Got the first crystal jobs and am now grinding for XP, AP, and Gil before going through the water gate. In other news, I've started dipping into my list of games I haven't finished, this one in particular is Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones on the 3DS VC (Ambassador, baby) and am at Ch 7 with no deaths so far (Ch5 was a bitch, it didn't want me to go through without anybody dying. Seth died 3 times in the Arena while farming it for gold, the Pegasus Knight who I can't remember the name of died twice via arrow rape, and poor Gilliam died 6 times from the recuitable guy's critical while baiting so the healer could talk to him). Currently having weaker guys chip at the boss for XP after having him waste his Javelin on Seth (who I leveled to 20 and stripped of his items so he wouldn't counter-death the guy) Plan on doing the sister's route for my first playthrough.
I stopped playing WoW, and started playing Rift again.
Just got done with Pokemon Gold (might be trying to get all 250 pokemon but I my silver is dead so I don't see that happening).
Taking a break from Star Fox Adventures... to play Oblivion on PC.
Man my new computer can run this game 100% better then my old one. 😃
Well in FFXI I discovered that my equipment wasn't up to snuff to continue my mission, so I started selling junk
I wasn't using and have all, but 2 items I need. I also gained another level making me a Lv 26 Red Mage. Also tried
to solo the monster that drops the item I need to finish the Mhaura subjob quest. It died, didn't drop the item I need,
and then a skeleton pops up and is all "5urpr153! Butt53X!!!" when I have only about 20 HP left. So then I went fishing to raise
some gil from selling stacks of fish on the AH......only to have my fishing rod break on the 5th try...
God dammit I wish I knew somebody who plays this game. It would probably be more fun at least...
Just found the game Actraiser and I'm glad that I did. This game is fantastic!. 😃

:O! You were deprived, buddy. Where have you been?

This.
Edit: By the way, I'm playing through ALttP again on my iPhone while out of town.
SUCCESSOR wrote::O! You were deprived, buddy. Where have you been?
I have no damn idea. :O
But I will say this has to be one of next favorite Snes games so far!.
Actraiser is one of my favorite games of all time. It's amazing.
I traded my XBOX 360 in for a 3DS. I'm glad I did. The gaming I've been getting in lately hasn't been on the couch...it's been in my car at lunch or similar places. I've been playing Ocarina of Time 3D, which is a great port. I love having this game on the go. I also downloaded Mega Man 2, Legend of Zelda, and the original Wario Land. I'm such a sucker for older games and I love having the ability to play my games on the go. I wish the 3DS would support SNES Virtual Console games.

Actraiser - yes.
Older games - yes.
They just don't make them like they used to. I have trouble playing more modern stuff. I can't tell if it's euphoria for the feelings evoked of discovery while being young, or if modern games just pale in comparison. I often wonder if kids playing games today will feel the same way about them as I do the NES/SNES era in 15 years.
SNES on the 3DS Virtual Console. I really want that to happen. It would be awesome to paly some great SNES games on the go in addition to the other games the 3DS can already offer on its VC. Personally would like to see Mario RPG and Earthbound.
I REALLY want to see the Mega Man X games, Sim City, Actraiser, and other classic gems that don't get enough attention.
I'd like to see those too. I've only played Actraiser once so many years ago and loved it. My own copy of Sim City on the SNES barely works anymore.
The MMX games are something I've been meaning to get a hold of, too. The list goes on.
Back on WoW today. New patch.
I have been playing Ocarina of Time 3D here lately but I am trying to pace myself and actually explore. The 3D effect is pretty nice though I have to turn it off every 20 minutes or so.
Other than that I have been replaying the Ace Combat PS2 series (5 and Zero being my favorites) or playing Final Fantasy XIII (really trying hard to get into it). When I get tired of destroying everything in my flight path or walking down the gaming world's longest cinematic hallway I pop in Arkham Asylum or Red Dead Redemption.
I tried so many times to play Final Fantasy XIII, but I just couldn't get into it.
I just got a Gamecube, so I'm going to finish up Ocarina of Time on my 3DS and start Wind Waker.
Final Fantasy XIII isn't awful. Yeah, it's more noticeably linear than most other FF games, but that didn't bother me much, since most FF games are pretty linear anyway. People's real complaint wasn't about linearity, it was about how "wait I can't go backwards?" since FFX was just as linear. The only real complaint I had was the restrictions in the Crystarium. Set level caps in an offline RPG that only raise when certain conditions are met? That's fucking stupid. I shouldn't have to beat the final boss to reach the highest levels in the game.
Story wise, I think XIII delivered. It wasn't the best, but it rests, for me, in the top five, along with XII, IX, IV, and VI. I have the sequel, but I've not yet started it.
As for what I'm playing now, I finally got around to starting the Dawnguard expansion in Skyrim. Not bad, so far, but I'm getting the impression it's going to be more like Knights of the Nine than an all-out expansion. Along with that, I'm dabbling in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Ico. I've also been trying to get the last achievement in Limbo, but god damnit, I don't know how anyone could beat that game in one playthrough while only dying five or less times. It's ridiculous.

Final Fantasy has always been linear storywise but was not always so strict exploration wise. Super monsters that will hit you hard enough to kill your character's future children aside, you were free to go anywhere in whatever part of the game world you had access to at the time. You generally had the airship about 1/4 of the way through any given game ("generally" being the keyword) allowing you to explore everywhere. FFXIII is more like "you will go here to set off the next set-piece and no where else". However, I am trying to overlook that fact and look only at story and gameplay. The story is... OK so far though I know very little about anything. The only thing I dislike is that I have no direct control over my other party members. I can change paradigms and shit but otherwise control nothing but my lead character. I cannot stand being unable to directly control my party members to the point that I turned Gambits off in XII. As for the "level" cap thing. I understand the logic behind it. It helps keep everything challenging. However, the last JRPG that I played that used such an anti-grind system was Lost Odyssey and the battles were at least challenging to begin with. As much as I hate anti-grind mechanics it at least works here. In FFXIII I effortlessly mow down everything I come across. Maybe that will change (I'm about 6 hours in) later.

Despite my complaints of WW being absurdly easy, I really wish I still had it and my Gamecube. It was the last Zelda game I could bring myself to play beyond the first dungeon and I still have a soft spot for the game because of it.
Speaking of Final Fantasy XIII I'm playing it now. This time not going for a speed run. The last time I played it I was able to beat the game in 8 hours. :P
I know my way though the game pretty much and I know how to beat the boss' without much trouble.

Do you not have a Wii? Dios Mios man! Lol.

It was the last one for me that felt magical, but I did finally play through TP and SS right before SS was released. Both good games.
I got rid of my Wii over a year ago. I never played anything except for Gamecube games. I gave it to my 10 year old brother.

That's exactly right. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were both good games, but they didn't capture the Zelda magic. Skyward Sword came close though.
Right now I'm starting up Portal 2 and Bioshock. I also started up Yoshi's Island on my SNES; I forgot just how good that game is. Maybe the best platformer on the SNES?
Still working On Final Fantasy XIII, just hit disk 3. (I really need to get a hold of some new games.)
I am still trying to finish Skyward Sword. I must say Nintendo has not made it easy. My will power to play this game dies quickly each play through. The linear gameplay, the mediocre level design, Fi... It all just makes for a nauseating game. Didn't they learn from Twilight Princess about item descriptions repeating after game resets?! It is so damn annoying! Nintendo never learns from their mistakes.
I also need to finish FF13. My Xbox crapped out before I could get far in it and I haven't restarted since getting a new one.
Door Stop Simulator
In all seriousness, though, I started playing Castlevania on the NES right after I posted. I beat it in about 30 minutes using only one continue. I played it ON my NES, not on an emulator.
I beat it last week on an emulator, because my physical copy kept freezing on me. I used one save state after beating Dracula's first form. So I guess last week's win was just practice for the real thing this week.
...aaand I just beat Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest. That was actually really easy with a walkthrough. Maybe I spoiled it, maybe not. It wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't nearly as fun as the first one. I need to find Castlevania 3 now.
