[RC1, 2, 2.5, possibly others] Enemies that ignore fire are stunned by it instead

This has been going on for quite awhile, and has been addressed but nobody's done anything about it.

In the enemy editor, there are options to change how enemies react to a variety of weapons. If set to "ignore", they are supposed to not even register a hit from said weapon, nor make a sound as if they blocked it. (they're supposed to act like a bubble around it :shocking: )

Instead, enemies that are set to ignore fire (and possibly other weapons as well, like the sword of all things) are making a hit sound, and are stunned in place.

This happens with every enemy in my quest, using the very example weapons above, and they are not any special type. Perhaps if you tried it in Sideview gravity?

No, not that I know of. Here is a specific example of what I'm talking about.

On a screen with sideview gravity turned on, deploy a stalfos or two, and give Link the magic wand w/ the book as well. Alter Stalfos so that their reaction to "fire" is "ignore". Then in Zelda Classic, use wand magic on them. The stalfos should be unharmed, but will make a hit sound and be frozen by the wand fire. This might only last as long as the fire itself does, meaning there is a collision issue at play. However, the same bug happens when I use a sword (melee) on enemies set to ignore that.

Saffith, you have set your stalfos to block magic. They are supposed to react to the magic with damage, but ignore the fire. I'll create an alteration of your test and see what happens.

Also, did you test the sword?

EDIT: I made the alterations and also did not experience the issue. However, I tested my own quest again and am still having problems. I'll pack something up for you soon.

I think you need to re-upload that; it keeps coming through as 0 bytes. Tried different browsers and everything.

I got hold of the quest demo, so it shouldn't be necessary. I see what you mean, at least as far as the wand. No luck with other weapons yet.
If you've got a book, the wand uses the book's power instead of its own, and your book is set to 0 damage. The problem isn't that they aren't ignoring the fire, but that the magic is doing 0 damage.
The way it works is definitely weird, but I'm not certain it should be changed...

That seems to fix a few things. Thanks Saffith. Though again, this is happening with the sword (Super Missile Launcher). It's a sword, but it won't work at all unless a super missile expansion is collected (weird ZC thing.) if you attempt to "stab" an enemy with the launch (the actual super missile is a sword beam), enemies will also be stunned.

Are you sure everything's set up right? The only enemies I see in use that ignore the sword are the missile pirates, and they seem to be working.
