1256: Zelda-w.exe audio craps out. Fraps can't record the program for some reason.

When I open Zelda-w.exe audio will either work but have crackle noises or will distort heavily for a few seconds then cut out almost completely. Sometimes after that, even when closing it, it will play random sounds in a bizarre fashion.

I didn't test audio last time I said it was working so it could have been happening yesterday too, I do turn my computer off overnight.

Fraps will record this version but for some reason gets stuck recording and the avi file gets locked etc. and no program will recognize the avi file. Earlier versions of ZC didn't cause this. Only happens when I tell Fraps to monitor sound and sound distorts and cuts out in ZC.

edit: it actually recorded some, I'll have a vid up soon.

It either is a problem with ZC that causes general system instability (for current Windows session) with regards to audio output or there is something wrong with my computer. Audio programs worked fine yesterday but seem to suffer the same problem ZC does now, I will reboot in an hour after my current download finishes.

I rebooted and now Zelda-w.exe works fine even with fraps. I don't know but it seems like I'm getting pretty varied stability with this version of ZC.

Every 3 months or so on my old work computer something wouldn't quite be right with the sound card after startup, and it's media player would crash randomly and running Sonar would crackle the sounds and possibly crash. A quick reboot would always fix it however. Since the sound code for zc hasn't been changed in quite a while I'd just assume you might of had some hardware/windows hiccup.

See if it happens again.

Audio crapping out appears to be a problem with my sound card and not ZC :/ onboard sound solution works though without problems.
