combo flags

This thread included a poll: Is a fix for this needed before 2.5 is released?

If you have a cycling combo (sword flag 79) and then place a screen flag (16) over it to remove the cycling combo once hit with the sword, then it renders the sword flag useless.

the cycling combo is a Skulltula
half the time it is facing you, so no flag, the other half it is with it's back to you, which exposes the (79) sword flag
then once placed on the screen flag 16 is placed over it to remove it once it is triggered.
16 is just a clear combo.
it works until you place the 16 flag on the screen, but placing the 16 screen renders the 79 flag useless.
in short...
Once flag 16 is stacked on flag 79, then 79 no longer works
or... inherent flags are not working, maybe just this one, maybe all of them, I haven't tested any others.

small edits to make it hopefully clearer.

I attempted to replicate this situation in a test quest and couldn't do it.

I created a combo cycle between two combos, one with flag 79 inherent and the other a normal combo. I slashed it with my sword and the sword secret combo triggered as usual. I then placed flag 16 on it with secret combo 16 being a seperate combo. I slashed the cycling combo and it triggered the secret correctly in this instance as well.

If my situation differs from the problem being exhibited in your quest, please clarify if you can.

ok, I made you up a test quest in 1154
grab the sword walk up one room.
the one on the right works with 2 of the #16 flags removed, the one on the left doesn't.
I'll throw the addy in a PM to the quest file.

Thank you very much Freedom, I was able to identify the bug and it has been fixed for the next beta.

Turns out that if a 16-31 flag is directly on top of the sword trigger flag, then that and ONLY that combo is actually affected by the sword trigger combo and it never actually triggers the secret properly. It's the same method by which slash combos can change into 16-31 flags instead of the undercombo, but for some reason that functionality had priority over the sword flag's trigger mechanism. Switching the priority makes everything act as it should.

That's great news, thank you very much.
hopefully future bugs will be easier now too to demonstrate since I made that quest file up just for that.

Just in case, note that build 1182 does NOT have this bug fixed, as it was released before I committed the changes.

Sorry, I didn't know you had pending changes! ..Plus there was a few people that were waiting for a windows build that had some key bugfixes.
