[ZCL] Run ZQ/ZC buttons grayed out.

You have to configure it first. On the left side of the first ZCL Tab, in the middle, vertical-wise, there's a "configure" button. Tell it which folder ZC is in, etc, save, then restart ZCL. Then, select your configuration from the box above the configure button, and you're good to go.

Useless and annoying, but we haven't heard much in the way of the reasoning behind this, so we'll see.

I got that configured and when I click launch ZQ, It gives me an error that says that there is an access violation! WTF?

Does ZCL quit? What program has the access violation?

The ZQ button causes an access violation. Only ZC works.

I got it fixed, but the configure button should probably have a flashing sign around it if you don't have any versions configured... XD :P

OK soooo im sorta new here and so im gonna make this quick and sweet.

im getting this error message everytime i click on ANYTHING that says access violation.
If i use ZC i can get through 2 screens fine but then the screen goes dark and then the arrow doesnt appear and it doesnt work all together. if i use ZQ then it says

Loading Quest...

Decrypting....error.
--press a key--

any way i can get passed this.

I have a hard time understanding your post, but here goes:

1. For reasons that will forever be lost to the mists of time, you must configure ZCL the first time you use it. Push the "Configure" button on the first tab, and point it at the folder where you put Zelda Classic.

2. I don't know what you mean by "i can get through 2 screens fine but then the screen goes dark and then the arrow doesnt appear". Are you trying to play a quest?

3. What quest are you trying to load? Is it a password protected quest? Try opening the "proposed1st.qst" quest, see if that works.

i already did configure..

what i ment is that theres the armaggedons game screen, thenzelda screen, then theres the screen im talking about.

3rd im not loading any quest its just not letting me get any where on ZC or ZQ regardless if i didnt get stopped by the

acess violation sighn.

So, it's freezing? Or you don't know how to load a custom quest?

When you say the screen goes dark, do you mean that the quest select screen (where you pick which save to use) is a lot darker than normal? Try downloading the latest beta again and see if that fixes it.

Luckily, he got it last night. Something to add to a ZCL FAQ, I suppose. If there ever needs to be one. o.o'

Ok? That's nice.

The issue he had was why you need to involve UAC in the first place. A program launching other programs does not need any privileges. At all.

The only thing that might warrant it is the updater, but that's farmed out to wget anyway! So... I dunno what to say.

Probably he has ZC and ZCL stored in Program Files or something preventing the configuration files from being created without Admin rights?

Solution is to just take ownership of Program Files and all sub folders to avoid any future idiotic protection issues.

Deviance said over chat last night that he'd be reverting the changes, though there are a bunch of things which will be coming first. In due time, I suppose.

Guys I apologize on this release I am reverting it back to the previous release. Seems like this one was a flop. Give me some time and It will be all better. At the moment I been busy porting ZCL to the mac.

Imo in history this has to be my first disaster release :P

So in the mean time just use an older version for now. Once again I apologize.

984's ZCL doesn't have the Configure feature and the Launch ZC/ZQ buttons aren't now greyed-out, so this issue is fixed.
