Go one screen east and try to hammer the pegs. For some odd reason, pound combos below Link can't be hammered anymore. Also, Link has a farther-than-normal reach when using the hammer northward.
Oh, and before someone says, "Enable this check box in quest rules," I first encountered the problem playing a quest from version 1.90. If the check box thing is the case, perhaps quest conversion needs to be fixed?
