Even a normal boomerang is a magic boomerang. It seems to ignore range, even with goriyas.

Hm... I'm not getting this. I opened up a 2.10 quest and tried giving myself it and even picking it up. The boomerang always functioned correctly.
Perhaps it has something to do with boomerangs given by scripts... My Brang is dropped as an item via a script.

I've gotten this bug too. In my case, Link had the 'rang already and the animation for it was reset too. It ignored range.
