[864] Some kinds of tracker music don't work

Some specific kinds of tracker music, in my case GBS files, don't seem to work. When I load them into the Alternate Music option in the DMap settings, I can't select the track for it to play from the file. I've used GBS files for tracker music before, so I know it's compatible with ZC... GBS is the only kind of tracker music I've tried recently, so I don't know whether or not everything else, like mp3, NSF, etc work.

First of all, are the GBS files in the same folder as your quest file? You have to do that in order for trackers, MP3s, NSF, etc to work.

MP3s work just fine, but I haven't tried playing any NSF files, as I don't have any.

For whatever reason, not all files of those extensions will play in the ZQuest Editor when I select them through the etc menu.

(By the way, the Alternate music function in the DMap Editor was renamed Enhanced Music more recently, with the unimplemented Enhanced Music Menu being removed)

I'm talking about in ZQuest itself. The GBS file is in the same folder as the quest. Now, I'm able to select the file and load it into ZQuest, but I can't select the track from the file to use in the DMap. It remains greyed out. It works fine in the Etc. menu though.

It's greyed out for a reason... Why do you think there is a clear button?
And believe me, the Alternate/Enhanced Music feature is still under development.

Do you even know what I'm talking about?

1. I dunno what you're thinking, but I'm pretty sure the clear button just clears out the Enhanced Music box.
2. We've had GBS support for at least 2 years. A few older quests of mine used GBS files for their music. This is the first time since then I've used them. So whether or not support for them was removed a while back, I don't know.

Well, that's because the Track Dialog Box below the Enhanced Music Slot is not implemented yet.

I believe enhanced/alternate music was overhauled ages ago, I believe they are looking for a different library to use when playing such files still o_o"

Ah, that explains it. But what was wrong with the old library? I didn't notice any major bugs with enhanced music when I used it with the old 2.11 betas.

It's working for me. I'll mark this as not a bug. If it's still happening to you, send me the GBS file you are working with.
