The music, and characters where rich, and the Kinstone side quest was pretty neat too. I also enjoyed the dungeons too. Come to think of it, I need to play through that game again to refresh me on it.PH had boring characters virtually no sound track, and tedious and obvious dungeons. Not to mention any extra island was just some one stop trip to Snoozeville. I never once felt truly challenged. The only thing I enjoyed was the battle against the two headed dragon thing. Most of the time, I found myself getting annoyed at various aspects of the game. It also looks like shit. Seriously, I'm not one to complain about graphics, but they should have gone with a 2D-backdrop-3D-model deal. It would have worked out better. More detailed backgrounds, and higher-poly models. You can't go wrong there with the DS's limited hardware.
I've always loved the style of The Wind Waker, so that was a big plus for me with PH. I was skeptical about the controls at first, and even frustrated for a short time, but I grew to really like them. Ummm... I liked sailing and discovering new islands. I enjoyed the snippets of The Wind Waker tunes. I really enjoyed the Ocean Palace and the various stealth parts (like on the Ghost Ship).
The dungeons weren't very challenging, but I haven't been challenged by a Zelda game in years. Also, even though I was hoping for a challenge, I wasn't expecting it, so I wasn't disappointed. There weren't many characters in PH, but I thought Linebeck was a great new character.
The Minish Cap is the worst of the Zelda series in my opinion, but it's by no means a bad game. I had fun playing The Minish Cap, but I felt really confined throughout the game. No Zelda will ever be as open as the original, and most of the Zelda games since the original have restricted where you can go until you get new items, etc, but the feeling was moreso with The Minish Cap for some reason. The shrinking was a neat idea, but I was never wowed by it as the game progresed. I also didn't like the new items so much, thought the dungeons were very linear and not that fun. And the Kinstone fusion drove me crazy. It was very repetitive, and for a completionist like me (with Zelda games at least), it felt never ending since I would fuse with one person, only to reveal a treasure chest somewhere that had yet another piece to fuse, and on and on and on.
But, that's just my opinion.
