On my side, my computer slows down. I should stay out of the Large mode in Windowed. That will be the danger.

Large mode in Fullscreen works just fine for me. If that cannot be fixed, I will need an upgrade to my computer, which I won't do.

Small mode on windowed runs atrociously slow for me, but I can't stand having any other setup so I just deal with it.

It seems to me that it isn't so much that it's all of these new features running that are bogging it down, but rather that a lot of inefficiencies that have built up in the process and have been ignored over the years...

Combined with the fact that we're using Allegro, this seems to be right on the mark based on my tests.

Unfortunately, there's not much I can think of to do about this without overhauling ZQ's internal GUI workings. That's certainly doable but that would just delay the release even longer.

Its just recently that its gotten real bad though. On my old computer, I more or less have to run it fullscreen to avoid the entire system freezing.

2.5 has been in beta phases for... 3 years now? I know I might not speak for everyone, but I wouldn't mind having the release pushed back a few months if it means that the program will actually function the way I want it to...

After all, we've waited god knows how long already. A bit longer isn't going to kill anyone.

Developers, if you believe that bug cannot be fixed and its the one affecting specific computer hardware, move it to Bugs in Limbo.
