When I tried to open Z-Quest after I downbloaded build 809, I got 2 errors. One was that it was expecting a newer version of Windows (I'm using 98 SE), and the other said that "a device attached to the system isn't fuctioning".

Edit 2: It seems to do the same thing with the quest player itself too. 😞
Did you try to run it using compatability mode in the properties? or use Zlauncher?
How come there's always one of these bugs each time a new build comes out? It's nothing short of malevolent.
1: I'm using Windows 98, there is no compatability mode.
2: When I tried to open it in ZC Launcher I got 2 messages. One was the one telling me to upgrade to a newer version of Windows. The second told me it failed to execute the program. The second message also gave me 2 options: to ignore the problem and risk data corruption, or to kill the program.
The bug seems to be fixed in Build 819.

Uh, I can't actually open ZQuest either. I get this error:
zquest-w.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point file_size_ex_password could not be located in the dynamic library alleg42.dll.
Fixed.
