OK, so apparently placing docks at the edges of screens is a bad idea. You don't stop when you reach the dock, but instead, you raft right on through to the next screen. When you try to board the dock, you can't, unless you come through from the other screen. When you do come through the other screen onto a dock, you start rafting instantly. If you come up from the other screen, half on the dock half off, you'll start rafting, but you won't go anywhere. Note that whether this occurs depends on which side of the dock you're half on. Finally, whatever you do, don't place a dock at the edge of a map, or you'll also get stuck, rafting forever.
Sorry for wasting your time on these useless bugs that nobody cares about.
EDIT: Actually, it appears that you start rafting even without a dock, when there are raft flags at the start of the next screen. This does not occur while swimming, thank god, so unless you do something weird, you shouldn't run into this problem.
Please submit a test quest that shows each of the issue you are describing.
I'd really rather not. It'd likely be faster for both of us to just wing it. Let's go one issue at a time?
If you raft to the edge of a screen, you'll pass through into the next screen, even if there are no raft flags on the next screen. Therefore, it is impossible to stop rafting at the edges of screens. A subplot of this bug, which will likely be fixed at the same time you fix this one, is that if you raft into the edge of a map, you'll find yourself rafting forever.
That sounds really simple, and undeserving of a test quest. If you actually think one is required (which I believe you don't), I will not be uploading it, and the bug will likely not be fixed, since nobody else cares.
You remind me of these two little boys who came over last weekend to help with moving branches out front to be carted away only to decide we were doing too much work and piled them up near the back to be burned instead... even though these were fresh pine branches, sure to stink and smoke, and we'd have to buy a permit to boot.
For one thing, a test quest provides proof that the bug exists. Believe it or not, the devteam doesn't have infinite time to chase after every shadow. For another, it gives them a sample to test bugfixes against. Finally, while making one simple test quest might seem pointlessly trivial to you, imagine having to make half a dozen of them every day. -- Pteryx
I'm not disputing whether or not test quests are helpful. In this particular case, it would probably take a dev longer to download my test quest than to just make their own. Put a dock at the edge of a screen and there you go, you got yourself a test quest. Anyway, I already said I'm not uploading any quests, so this is where it stops. The bugs don't get fixed. Maybe once I get off dial-up I'll be more willing to upload test quests.
Make your test quest in ZC 2.10 then... because it will be about 300 - 400kb instead of over a megabyte.
OK let me just go download 2.1 🙄
You're not going to convince me to post a test quest, unless you've got some way for me to upload without having to load a kb-heavy upload page. That's far worse than the uploading. Uploading, you can just start it and come back later.
I'm much more interested in making my own quest, or, trying to anyway. I don't know what I've gotten myself into with the thing... The plan is to, anywhere on the overworld, play the song of storms and it starts raining (often triggering other secrets like raising the water-level and growing vines). Is there a whistle->secrets screen flag? That would make things easier. I wouldn't have to make all the tiles whistle-inherent and then use secret combos to replace them with their non-whistled counterparts... Unless you've got a better plan? I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing just yet. *off-topic* I should make a topic somewhere else for these types of questions.
Mediafire is a excellent low graphics website for uploading files up to 50mb (afaik). free registration too and i haven't recieved any spam from them as well since i signed up.
Alright fine. You called my bluff. I just don't wanna do it. Leave me alone! *hides*
