One of my favorite writers, Neil Gaiman is helping out a friend over at his LJ blog. Writer Terry Pratchett, who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimers, has donated one million dollars to research this awful disease. I see patients with dementia at my nursing homes and it is extremely sad to see them slip further away almost daily. Well, at least his friend is spurred to help with the research. And I really hope this doesn't stop his writing.
I've never read Pratchett, but I really feel for him. 59 is way too young for something like that.
