I was playing James Quest with this build and got to the mini-dungeon room with the blue Wizzrobe boss, but ZC crashes upon entering the room. (Tried it twice and it did the same thing each time.) Don't know what the cause could be, but just wanted to report it.

Are you talking about the mini-dungeon where you get the white sword, the one that's only 7 rooms?
The best I can recall there is 4 statues, 1 blue wizzrobe, and the "enemy carries item" screen flag, with the blue wizzrobe holding a heart container.
Yes, that's the one.
That's it! The enemy carries item flag had been casuing it to crash!
