Clock issues

Playing Quest For Freedom II (built in the 2.10) in build 704, I used the level 4 cheat (no walls) to get to a heart.
Now every time I get a clock, it doesn't go away until you quit the game or click it off in the cheats. This happens even after I have quit and resumed the game. So I have to enable cheats to turn it off.

Also even before it started doing that, whenever you got a clock it stayed until you left the screen. Isn't there a time limit on how long the clock lasts?

It sounds like you hit "i", for invincibility, as that persists forever. However, maybe not. Maybe this is a bug, I usually turn off clocks altogether in quests I make

In the original, clocks lasted until you left the screen. Now, there's a rule (and, maybe an setting in the item editor? Haven't looked)

I never use the keyboard to play, I use a controller.
But it shouldn't persist till after you quit, save and and start playing the same game, should it?

There may be a rule or setting, I don't know about. This program is getting quite large.

Bug or not it's a 2.10 compatibility issue.
I'd say it's a bug, but I haven't really looked into it.

Sorry, somehow I missed seeing your post.

I'll try to explain better. If you have level 4 cheats enabled and click no walls, the clock gets checked too. I don't know much about using cheats but I assume this is correct behavior.
Now if you turn off no walls and the clock, everything is ok until you pick up a clock. It stays enabled from screen to screen.
And this still happens every time I've tried in build 718 too.

If you save and exit, and then reopen the quest it doesn't happen until you cheat no walls.

I know randomly getting a clock with the cheat ON will make it temporary... that was in 701.

Is that with a 2.10 quest? I've never seen that one.

Q: Did Quest for Freedom II have the "Clocks are Temporary" rule checked?

Hmmm...

Unconfirmed. Neither the cheat nor the clock persists after 'Q'uitting. Sorry.

Quest, Link To The Darkness 1.

Reproducible? yes.

Steps to create? (1.90 quest updated to build 743) ok, turn on 'clock cheat' with mouse or I, make clock appear, turn off 'clock cheat' with I then get the clock and see how long it lasts. there is a tick next to the 'clock cheat' after getting it while the 'clock cheat' is off so if you were to look at it you would think the 'clock cheat' was on when in fact it is not.

If your saying that the clock just looks like its on and it's not, that's not what happens to me.

It is on, I can go from screen to screen and never get hurt.

I just tried this in the 743 a couple days ago, and it's still there.
I wish I knew how to make a video of it.

And if I quit, save and restart the game and pick up a clock it gets checked in 'cheats' again.
If I exit the program and restart (with cheats not enabled), it behaves as it should.

I have no way of reproducing yours, as I don't have the cheat.😊

I'm not sure I have a cheat for any 1.90 quest.

there is a tick next to the 'clock cheat' after getting it while the 'clock cheat' is off so if you were to look at it you would think the 'clock cheat' was on when in fact it is not.

After I finally found Link To The Darkness, I spent two hours trying everything I could think of to see what your talking about.

I didn't see any tick next to the clock in the menu. Everything worked just fine, even after I cheated no walls and then turned it off.😮dd:

you enter a screen with the clock cheat on, right? you kill enemies till one drops a clock, right? you turn off the clock cheat with I, right? you go and pick up the clock, right? you then look at the clock cheat and see a tick, right? proceed to the next screen and time how long the clock effect lasts.

It lasts till I get to the edge of the screen. and if I stay on the same screen it quits in a few seconds. I swear I tried it at least 10 times. The check never does stay there.

I'm using the 743 just like you are.
Sometimes it is very hard to explain exactly what's going on.😊

I'm in the process of trying to make a video of what happens to me in a 2.10 quest.
I think I'm going to have to increase the ram on this thing, before I can make one of any length, and not so jumpy too.

don't worry about the jumpyness 😊 you wont see that in the video. just be sure you can still play the game while it lags.

I made a video of what is going on here.

I made this with two files and edited it with Windows Movie maker because I can only record 30 seconds at a time. And picking up a clock in this game only happens once in a great while, so I opened it up with zquest and gave an enemy the clock.
In the first part, no cheats were on and the clock goes away in the next screen.

I clicked no walls, then clicked it off and then clicked the clock off.
but as soon as you pick up a clock, it gets checked and it stays checked till you uncheck it. Pick up another clock, it does the same thing.

This has happened in every build I have tried it in.
