fire/gleeoks should re-appear if you re-enter a room with them in it >.> this used to be a issue with other monsters too like the aquamantis (LOZ lv1 boss) but now the aquamantis re-spawns as expected.
fire gleeoks/gleeoks can't re-spawn thus making it a very easy challenge to get something from my dungeon since you only gotta kill one then die and all of them are then permanently dead >.<
That's weird...Do you have the rule must kill all bosses checked?
no, that rules is disabled.
There have always been certain enemies that "acted" as bosses and didn't return.
I don't know if the new enemy editor is supposed to change that or not.
- Must Kill All Bosses: If this rule is not checked and you have 2 or more boss creatures on one screen, if you kill one boss and come back to the screen all of them will be gone.
You need to check that rule otherwise bosses are supposed to dissapear when one is killed...Though I never really figured out why that rule was put in to begin with. There's only one boss on a screen in the nes game anyhow. Seems outdated.

Aah, I know what you're referring to.
- TmpNoRet Disabled: This was my solution to a strange problem in the NES game. Lanmolas stay dead until you exit the dungeon. Also, if you beat everyone in a room that has traps, they stay dead until you exit. I called this "Temp No Return". So for true NES quests, this rule is left unchecked. If checked, lanmolas act as normal enemies, and enemies come back to rooms with traps just as if the traps weren't there.
And yeah, with the enemy editor you can choose to have no enemies count as "bosses".
meh do i want to use the enemy editor? not really >.>
you don't need to check that rule since you can set "enemy flags" to Boss. however i only did this to the "boss" and the rest are not set up as a boss and also have the enemy always return screen flag set.
a few enemies were liberated from this bizarre behavior but not all >.>
It don't work like that franpa, never did.

XD ..Just enable the quest rule franpa. 😉
:O
I SEE WHAT THE RULE MEANS NOW :P:P:P sorry, xD
i was thinking it meant something else.
DarkDragon wrote:So... is there a bug?
What is the behavior supposed to be?
Some enemies don't return period because they are considered "boss" enemies, like the gleeok, while others do like the Ghoma.
With the enemies return rule, some enemies return while some don't, which ones for sure I don't recall right now, but I seem to remember the lanmollas not returning while stalfos did.
This isn't covered in the zquest.txt or I couldn't find it, but it was discussed some time back.
Who can say what is a bug if nobody knows exactly how it's supposed to work.
So are you saying that Gleeoks will always return, even if the "Never Returns After Death" checkbox is disabled?
In the past, gleeoks NEVER returned.
I have some quests that I made, people killed them once to gain entrance to certain areas, these were not set as level bosses, and they never returned.
IF they are returning now, then that differs from the way it was, say in 210.
there is no bug, i was simply confused about that quest rule.
for me my issue here is resolved.
Freedom wrote:In the past, gleeoks NEVER returned.
Did I say 'return'? Because I actually meant to type 'not return'. Umm, yeah.
Looking through the code, I found something a little off with the Gleeok and Moldorm's ability to return independant of the enemy editor flag. So, um, fixed.
so now its possible to have 2 gleeoks respawn if you kill both and come back via the use of screen data -> enemies always return and quest rule -> must kill all bosses?
