open zquest then go into options and you cant check/uncheck anything till you click on the 2nd tab then it is fixed for the whole zquest session. starting zquest again resets the bug thus making you have to click the 2nd tab again.

Well there are several meanings of big mode, maybe you meant -large, maybe -scale 2, maybe your head was real close to the monitor 😉
ok then, i was not using any command line arguments. the config file is deleted before i run zquest and issue stays even with a valid cfg file present.
This, people, is what happens when you blindly try to edit code that you didn't properly comment when you wrote it in the first place. *grumble*
