Dude, that's Soooo not gonna work over here. You'd get divorced and arrested for assault before you could land the second hit (in theory anyway. there are a lot of abused women who don't report abuse for varying reasons).

IMHO the only acceptable way to beat your wife is at cards (or whatever you two play together).

You have to remember, that's part of their culture. He's not advocating utterly obliterating them, just keeping them in line. While I don't endorse this, I can see how it would be beneficial to their society.
It's like saying "When you sell drugs, don't push them on elementary students."
If you're going to do a fucked up thing, at least do it right.

a firm slap on the behind usually does the trick for me.
