Alright, so I try to make some transparent fog on a layer. This is what windowed mode gives me:
This is correct. However, big mode gives me this:
Obviously, this is not correct. Nontransparent layers display fine.
Big Mode Transparent Layers Bug (584)
I'm not seeing this. Can you post a test quest?
Unfortunately, I'm on vacation at the moment, and don't have ZC. 😞
Does anyone besides me get this?
Sorry for the double post.
Upon opening ZQuest and even putting down transparent layers, it works fine. But when I access tiles or palettes, it sometimes glitches up the layers.
I confirm. Sometimes large mode completly messes up layers. BTW, double posting is allowed under the bugs forum.
I'm still not getting this. Does this happen with any quest or certain ones? Is there a reliable way to reproduce the bug or something that is more likely to trigger it than other actions? Are you running Vista?
There really is no reliable way to trigger it. Just today, I exited out of Link Data and BOOM! Transparent layers go crazy. Examining a .qst file would do no good, because it clears up upon re-opening the file.
It's been doing this forever, but leaving the editor and then reopening it always fixes it right?
I've found it does it most often when you start building a new screen and it is on cset 0 and your other screens are painted in 2, 3, and 4 (level palettes) and until you exit the program those other screens will NOT display right, even when resetting (B) the transparent layers.
I believe it's a palette issue more than anything.
This is a minor bug really, it doesn't harm anything, although it can be frustrating at times.
What's the status of this bug? What's the relation, of any, to this bug: http://www.armageddongames.net/forums//thread/99473/
It is, in fact, exactly identical to that bug.
