After experimenting with Freeform Combos for a while, I seemed to have a set up working. I had a freeform combo moving upward at a certian speed, then hitting a changer and changing to a slower speed. This works fine in preview mode, but fails to work in Zelda Classic. Why is this?
Freefrom Combos
A bug, perhaps?
Please post the test quest.
This is on 564.
There is another point aswell where changers are meant to stop FFCs, but don't.
Where exactly is the bug?
Screen 21 is the only screen where I see a changer, and it works like it's suppose to - but the timed warp on that screen warps Link away before the FFC even reaches the changer.
ah, the bug (or what I'm doing wrong) is that zquest isn't saving the changers, because I had a changer set on screen 00 and 5 on screen 30. Now I come to think of it, after testing screen 00 and realising it didn't work in ZC, then reopening it in Zquest, I thought I hadn't set the changer, as it wasn't there, so I set it again. Now it's gone again.
Odd... are you giving the changer a non-0 combo?
No, am I supposed to?
Well, FFCs with combo 0 are considered to be "dead." I'm not sure how changers are suppose to work if their combo is set to 0.
Ahhh. If their combo is set to 0, then they work while you're still on that screen (hence them working in preview mode). If you then leave that screen (ie to open it up in zelda classic) they're attributes are reset to the defaults. Thanks!
Although it might be better if they worked with no graphic, it seems pointless to have to give them one if they're going to be invisible anyway, and it also makes it just a little less obvious to someone who's just learning (like me)
Right now setting a FFC's combo to 0 is the only way to 'delete' it from the screen, anyway you can always set the FFC to a (non zero) blank combo to make it invisable.
Even so, the changers working in ZQ when they have no tile is then a bug.
Changers with their combo set to 0 are now turned off in both ZC and ZQ preview mode.
