ugh... too many numbers 😛, but from 509 I went to 560. In 560 is when it happened: Layer 6 was GONE. While playing, Layer 6 does not show up, at all, anywhere (ZC). This also happens in 564.
Layer 6 Bug (560, and 564)
Is it still there in ZQuest?
Please post the quest; my layer 6 didn't go anywhere.
Layer 6 was there in ZQuest, I will PM you the Quest, with password.
? I opened the quest in ZC and the Layer 6 shadows are there...
Could you post a screenshot of ZC? Is there anything exotically configured about your ZC?
Not that I can think of...

Strange. Very strange.
What happens if you make layer 6 solid?
Layer 6 is there if it is solid.
Try the following:
- Turn off all layers but layer 6
- Turn off all layers but layer 6 and move layer 6 to a different layer
- Turn off layer 6 and make a different layer translucent
What happens?
- Layer 6 = gone (I kept layer 0; to my knowledge, unchecking the box in ZQuest will make that layer not show up in ZC)
- Layer 6 -> 4 (still translucent) = gone
- Layer 6 -> solid; Layer 3 -> Translucent; Layer 3 = gone
It might be a translucency bug and not a bug pertaining to layer 6.
That seems to be the case. If you set up a 2-screen test quest with one screen and one translucent layer, does the layer display in ZC.
I made a test quest.
I used PTUX, and made a couple of screens from scratch:
Translucent layers will not appear
All other layers do.
Layers that were translucent were 4 or 5
You may be the only one seeing this bug, so I'll need you to do like Freedom for splitting enemies and help me debug this.
Please run the attached .exe, open your test quest for a second or so, quit, and let me know the contents of allegro.log.
Well, here goes: (Oh, and all I did, is run the program, open the test quest with it, walk around for a bit and closed via the red X)

Not what I expected to see, but also a big relief. You don't have "Show Transparent Layers" checked under the Settings menu, do you? 😉
Please proceed to kicking the crap out of me. :banghead: :redface: :whap:
It is NOT checked. I feel like crying. But! I did not uncheck it. It must have been like that by default. Checked = Layers are a-go.
