I don't know, all I did was add a heart and duplicate it 39 times. Didn't touch anything else in the editor.
Ahh, also my in game item selector highlighter thingy isn't there anymore. maybe translucent, tile moved, or cset changed? ...If I knew how to set it I could find the answer easily enough...
Alright, there's some evil spirit that is causing random mischief in the subscreen editor. For example:
The selector corruption problem stated was easily fixed by hitting 'defaults' button in the item guy. No biggy. thanks DN.
When I tried duplicating a heart peice It seemed to do the same for everything in the passive subscreen with junk tiles. Then reloaded the quest and it worked fine.
Also This thread seems to involve the same thing that happened to me in the pic, easily fixed and doesn't seem to be any major problems though.
All this was 509 btw, just wondering if anyone had some of this happen in the passive subscreen.
EDIT: wup, very bad now. Subscreen crashed. After adding life guage peices, the text turned to random garbage A >^@ w along with the "OK" buttons and other things like "font style" or whatever. Hit cancel and was staring at my desktop. I'm 5 for 5 now with the life guage bugs...anybody fixing this stuff....is anyone there...i'ts cold.
I hear you, but nobody's found a sure way to reproduce the bug... I duplicated a heart piece like you did but encountered no corruption.
There's sure to be a nasty pointer bug out there somewhere, but if I can't see it I can't fix it
hmm...I see. Alrighty then; What is the least amount of material you would need to quash this thing? I'll see what I can't do to help.
Preferably, a step-by-step recipe for always corrupting the subscreen. If that's not possible, strong statements about where to look (corruption only ever occurs after duplication, etc) are also helpful.
OK, I am hazy on the steps taken, but it's along the lines of create new SS, mess around a bit, Delete SS. Go to Rvision 2. Enter passive SS ( no magic). delete life meter, add life gauge peice, duplicate 9 times...delete some, change cset, duplicate more...SAVE qst.
-Uh..Forget that. I'm sending it to you. Check your PM in a few minutes.
Now Go to Passive Subscreen (no magic), click on life guage peice->duplicate..BAM!
or new life guage peice, same result...similar to what I had in my other quest, exept i'm 100% now fiddling with this one.
I've fixed a bug in the subscreen editor, but the bug is pretty specific: if you made a subscreen with fewer than the default number of subscreen objects, saved the quest, restarted ZC and reloaded the quest, then duplicated or created a new object, corruption would occur.
I doubt that this bug's the only one causing the corruption you guys are reporting; please let me know of anything more you find.
Oh S***. One of the subscreen bugs hath fallen. 😃 Perhaps I can now actually edit my subscreen. Hooray! -Who's laughing now bug.

Yes, It is a good day to die.
The good: Duplicate works fine now...I think.(well I was able to edit it for the first time in a week)-536
The bad: After I exited the subscreen editor and saved, when I opened it back up the A,B, and LIFE, were random jibberish.
The ugly: Upon fixing the jibberish I noticed this again; The "OK, Cancel, and some others" were displaying jibberish also, which is what happened right before it crashed last time it did this. EXEPT this time everything turned out fine in the end. And they lived happily ever after.
I'll see if it happens again.
