I am useing a script to create item drops (since item drops don't work right with custom items yet) Now the script is working fine except the item i have created cannot be collected by walking over it. I am useing a custom item with ID #150, I have not tried useing lower ID's yet. The item is not set as equipment item its class is rupies, when I use the editor to place the item on the screen it works as it should.
Cannot collect items created via script [509]
I can verify that you are able to pick up certain items that are created by scripts: at least arrow ammunition and bomb ammunition. So this problem is not universal.
Alright, I will test it out some more. C-Dawg are the items you have been able to collect custom or standard pickup items (you said arrow ammunition and bomb ammunition so I assume they are the defult items) this may be another in a long line of item ID related problems (see my other bug report: http://www.armageddongames.net/forums//thread/98638/ and also this thread: http://www.armageddongames.net/forums//thread/98628/ ) It seems many things are dependent on item ID's. I have started from scratch with the item editor, eraseing each item and remakeing them (talk about 'testing aggresivly 😊 ) More and more this is seeming like a mistake (although it is revealing some things that need to be fixed)
Upon Further testing, it seems *sometimes* I can collect the item and sometimes not, although I have better success collecting lower ID items, but even they don't always work right.. this is confuseing I will keep testing mabye write some different scripts to create items because I want to make sure it is not my script technique causeing the problem.
Right now my script checks all items on screen looking for a superbomb (this is my 'trigger item; since i can be sure I will always get one droped by setting item set 'superbomb 100%'😉 the superbomb actually does nothing (item class z255) but when detected the tile is changed to 0 and an item is created in the same cords. (add some random chance and viola! custom item drops 😃 )
UPDATE: alright, now I think I've found the cause, although not 100% sure. It seems as soon as there are no enemies on the screen (I killed them all) I can no longer collect the item, strange but there may be some connection.
UPDATE: Alright nevermind, it seems my script is createing mutiple instances of the same item, so it appears I am not collecting the item but I am, so this is NOT a bug.
