Well i'm not sure about ffc's, as i've only been messing with them for a day. But when I only change the script used and/or D0, D1, on the arguments page it doesn't save my changes. I'd save the quest, try to test it and nothing worked, then open up ZQ and everything's set to 0! I set up everything like 5 times and everytime it would not save the changes. Very frustrating.
Then I selected a combo from the box in ffc 1-8, (combe 49- which is completely transparent because I don't want a combo, but ffc 1 through 8 to use scripts only) and then it finally saved the changes! Needless to say very time consuming.
Undocumented feature: if an FFC's combo ID is set to 0, all of its values are reset! A quick and easy way to 'remove' an FFC from a screen.
(Sorry.)
What is the nature of this 'feature', and how old is it? If I change the CSet of an FFC, I'm used to it staying that way. Ditto for other properties.
It's been in there since the beginning. ZQuest uses Tile and Combo No. 0 for all sorts of special checks. For instance:
FFCs with Combo of 0 are ignored, their data discarded as soon as you close the FFC editor in Zquest.
Carryover FFCs that have a Combo of 0 when Link leaves the screen do not carry over.
Combo Animation set to animate to Combo 0 is ignored.
Enemies set to display tile 0 are ignored for purposes of enemy->secrets.
And many more, I'm sure!
That's not quite what I mean.
I know for a fact that at least the CSet is saved. In Pure set, for example, a blank FFC at CSet 0 shows up as a brown box (since Combo 0 is the blank grass tile), but it will change colours depending on what CSet it was set to last.
